LAFC +375
Columbus Crew +450
Seattle Sounders +450
Toronto FC +550
Philadelphia Union +700

Get your wagers in early as DraftKings have revealed who they believe have the best chance to win the MLS Cup at the end of the 2021 season. The surprise pick is that the odds-on favorite to win the whole thing is LAFC. LAFC is coming off of a disappointing season that saw them eliminated by eventual finalist Seattle Sounders in the first round of the playoffs.

The MLS regular season is more about how a team finishes than how a team starts, if a team can get hot near the end of the season it will almost certainly mean they will qualify to the playoffs. This season 7 teams from each conference will qualify for the post season.

This year there will be 27 teams in the league, with the introduction of Austin FC, the oddsmakers have picked LAFC, the reigning champions Columbus Crew, Seattle Sounders, Toronto FC, and Philadelphia Union as the 5 favorites, here we will examine each team’s chances.

LAFC to win MLS Cup 2021

LAFC are a team on a mission as they enter year four of their MLS existence. At +375 the team will have Carlos Vela and Diego Rossi back to lead the attack as the Los Angeles team looks for their first MLS Cup. With an open DP spot and a roster of young talents this could be the year for Bob Bradley’s side, but it’s still too early to place a wager on them just yet.

Columbus Crew to win MLS Cup 2021

The reigning MLS champions were money all season last year. At +450 betting on the Crew is not a bad wager at all.  Lucas Zelarayán and Pedro Santos are back for another go at the title and with Gyasi Zardes, who always lights up the scoreboard, look for the Crew to be ready to defend their title.

Seattle Sounders to win MLS Cup 2021

The Sounders have made the finals in 4 of the last 5 years. An experienced side that only gets better. All the key pieces are returning this year for Seattle, Nicolás Lodeiro will once again marshal the midfield as the Rave Green are a +450 option. The Sounders might be a streaky team, but come playoff time they know how to get a result and could find their way at another MLS Cup final.

Toronto FC to win MLS Cup 2021

Toronto FC could be a dark horse, but it could also be a down season for them. With a new coach and an older and always injured Jozy Altidore, the chances that TFC go all the way don’t look great. Alejandro Pozuelo will need a lot of help from the supporting cast, at +550, TFC look like a risky bet to win it all.

Philadelphia Union to win MLS Cup 2021

The Union are a team that has grown in the last few years, relying heavily on their youth. With the sale of Brenden Aaronson and Mark McKenzie, two of their main pieces, it will be interesting to see how the Union reorganizes, the weight of leadership falls on Alejandro Bedoya. At +700, the Union could be a bit of a long shot but an interesting one as the team continues to be on the rise on the back of youth.
