The Liga MX season is at its midway point and with the rest of the Clausura to play plus the playoffs, some of the teams are ready to make that final push to be crowned Liga MX Clausura 2021 champions.

Cruz Azul has been having a wonderful season so far, winning 5 straight and ahead of America in the standings, but don’t count out Tigres who are fresh off of a CONCACAF Champions League victory and are looking to get back on track in the league.

Many coaches will fall as the tournament goes along and players and teams will step up to make that last push to the playoffs. Here are the top 5 Liga MX 2021 Torneo Clausura contenders according to DraftKings.

While Los Rayados are playing .500 ball, at the moment, Liga MX is all about how you finish and not how you begin. With a more than competitive squad at +275 Monterrey is a favorite, and in the playoffs could surprise a few. Will they win it? Our opinion is no, but they might make a run, bet at your own risk.

Cruz Azul

Cruz Azul is flying high a top of the Liga MX standings, winners of five straight at +300, they could be a sure bet. With a deep squad and semifinalist, the last time out, they have something to prove and could be the Liga MX winners.

América is always there, at times they could be inconsistent, at +350 the odds are they are the second-place favorite behind Cruz Azul to win the whole thing. Club America is a championship team, no question about it, the problem is always if they can make it to the finish line and always put on the backburner the continuing drama of the Mexican media.

Always a dark horse and one of the best teams in the region, Tigres the reigning CONCACAF Champions League winners will be a team to fear come the playoffs. At +450 looks like a steal, they will go far in the playoffs, and with the Club World Cup behind them look for them to make a big push.

Santos Laguna

Santos is always a playoff caliber team, and while they have been a consistent team during the season, they are at +1600 according to DraftKings. Santos always makes a big push, but their chances look slim against the tougher opponents come playoff season.
