It’s Week 11 of Liga MX and the Torneo Clausura is winding down as teams look to qualify for the playoffs at season's end. This week has the added bonus of featuring the Mexican League Clasico of Chivas and Club America. Cruz Azul vs Monterrey and Club Tijuana vs Santos Laguna are the other two main games of the week.

America is second in the standings, only two points back of Cruz Azul, while Chivas are midtable having won only two games this tournament. Cruz Azul and Monterrey will be a key match as a win will get Cruz Azul ahead of America, while for Monterrey they could be sitting firmly in third place with a win.

Santos and Tijuana is a match where both teams will look to solidify their playoff positions with a game where each team will need to look for a win. Liga MX is one of the most viewed soccer leagues in the United States and could be a bettors paradise for outright bets with good payouts.

The two biggest teams in Mexico will meet for the first time since Chivas eliminated America in the Apertura quarter finals 3-1. Santiago Solari’s side are always regular season contenders but the big hurdle is getting to the finals. The odds for this game are very tight and given both teams form, America looks like a safe bet at +180. Henry Martin who is the team's leading scorer at 13 goals, and as a choice to be the first goal scorer of the game, Martin is playing out +650.

Club America has the advantage in the Clasico Nacional having won 86 games to 77 wins for Chivas. It looks like America’s game to lose; Chivas will try to save face and get a bump in their season with a win over their archrivals.

In one of the biggest games of the season, Cruz Azul and Monterrey could be a warmup of the playoffs as both teams look to send each other a message. Cruz Azul comes into the match on a high, with a 5-game winning streak. Monterrey have been a bit inconsistent with 2 draws and a loss in their last three games.

Cruz Azul is a favorite and is paying out +120, and as an outright winner it’s a safe bet. Jonathan Rodríguez, the league's leading goal scorer is also a safe bet to pick as the first goal scorer at +330.

Club Tijuana vs Santos Laguna

A match that will determine playoff positions Club Tijuana vs Santos Laguna could be an interesting match up to bet on. Santos sits firmly in fifth place with an inconsistent run in their last 5 games, winning 3 and losing 2. Tijuana who are eighth have dropped their last two games in a row.

Santos Laguna, who are not the favorites, are paying out +185, and should be an easy straight bet since Santos have a much tighter defense than Tijuana, a draw can also be appealing at +220, both teams have an even number of goals scored and goals conceded.
