LaMelo Ball is a projected top-5 pick in the upcoming 2020 NBA draft but it’s not clear where he’s going to play once he makes it to the association. The young player showed plenty of good things during his days in high school and in Australian and Lithuanian basketball.

Melo is now ready to enter the draft but just like the rest of his class, he’s not a lock to go with the No. 1 selection next November 18. Some things have reportedly shown interest in him but nothing is certain now.

The Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks were reportedly among the teams that would like to land Ball, but now another squad has signed their name on the list of suitors for the youngest member of the Ball family.

Detroit Pistons are reportedly interested in LaMelo

The Detroit Pistons, with their 7th overall draft pick, are reportedly interested in acquiring Ball’s services, although it is very likely that he won’t be available when their turn arrives. Eric Woodward reports that even though it is a long shot, the Pistons are still meeting with Melo.

This is not a crazy idea, although Melo doesn’t seem to be a Piston guy, especially knowing his family. However, his father LaVar Ball recently admitted he only liked two teams to land his son: the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons.

This could help the Pistons land their desired player and seeing how moved this draft can be, they have chances to get on the clock with Melo still available. It was reported that the 19-year-old wasn’t impressing teams during his draft interviews, but that hasn’t made any difference for the Pistons.

If they’re willing to trade up to land their guy, they would have a big chance to snatch Ball from their rivals.
