The NBA season is almost underway again following a 4-month hiatus. 22 teams were invited to the Walt Disney campus in Orlando to play 8 regular-season games for seeding purposes and start the playoffs. Then again, there can only be one champion.
A handful of teams can still beat the odds and sneak into the playoffs as dark horses to win it all. At the end of the day, all players will be fully healed from their injuries and for the first time ever, it feels like anything can happen.
Some claim this season will always have an asterisk next to it but NBA players attending the campus know there's a lot of stakes this time. This will be a battle to the dead from the jump ball, but who has the biggest odds to win the ring?
NBA teams: Favorites and Underdogs
The Los Angeles Lakers were leading the Western Conference before the hiatus and a fully recovered LeBron James is a scary thought for the rest of the league. That's why FanDuel gives them +260 odds to win the ring, while DraftKings gives them +240 odds.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks currently hold the best record in the league and some think this will finally be the year they can go the distance and claim the throne again. According to FanDuel, they have +240 title odds, with DraftKings giving them +250 odds.
If we talk about dark horses, then we should turn our attention towards the Houston Rockets. Led by James Harden and Russell Westbrook, DraftKing gives them +1200 odds to win the title, while FanDuel gives them +1300 odds.
An underdog to watch must certainly be the defending champions Toronto Raptors. The Canadian side is back at full strength and has proven to be as good without Kawhi Leonard this season. They currently have +2000 odds on FanDuel and +2200 on DraftKings.
