Youtube star Olivia Jade is on Dancing With the Stars with the mission of getting herself a second chance. However, it seems like her past is difficult to leave behind. Now, Jade has been amid (another) controversy revolving around her participation on the show.

There were rumors circulating on the Internet that Jade had secured three weeks of “safety” on the show. However, ABC network executive Robert Mills went to Twitter to set the record straight about the speculation: “This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The show is a competition and as such is subject to legal and broadcast standard regulations."

None of these reports help Jade to gain sympathy from the fans of the show that are not happy with her casting in the first place. However, many people don’t know about Jade’s story or why she seems to be hated so much. Here, check out all about the college admission scandal.

What happened with Olivia Jade and her mother Lori Loughlin?

Olivia Jade, 21-year-old, isn't a public favorite due to the college admission scandal in which her mother actress Lori Loughlin and her father Mossimo Giannulli were involved in. In May 2020, they pleaded guilty  to paying $500,000 in bribes to Rick Singer, an alleged ringleader in the scam, to create fake athletic profiles to allow their daughters to attend University of Southern California.

However, despite controversy, Jade has received support from host of the show Tyra Banks and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy. "I think she's super brave to come out," Tyra said to TV show E! Daily Pop. "I think she's like, 'I'm tired of other people talking about me, it's time for me to tell my story.”

On September 27, Jade and her partner made it through the first round of eliminations, scoring a combined 52 out of 80 for their first two dances. Meanwhile, Karate Kid and Cobra Kai star Martin Kove and pro dancer Britt Stewart were sent home.
