The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony is set to take place on April 25th, 2021 in both the Dolby Theatre and Union Station. This year the Oscars will have movies from two different calendar years, due to the COVID pandemic, and one of the most talked about categories is who will win best actor.

Five actors are up for the award, and two of them are heavyweights in Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins. Chadwick Boseman is the early favorite to win the award as DraftKings has him at -2500 for his mesmerizing performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

How do the other actors stack up? We have a breakdown of who are the favorites in the best actor category for the 2021 Oscars according to DraftKings. Here are the odds-on favorites and the underdogs to win the award.

Chadwick Boseman - (-2500)

Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman was sensational in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, where he played Levee Green in the film about a blues singer and the issues that arise in a recording session in 1920’s Chicago.  Boseman passed away of cancer in August of last year.

Anthony Hopkins- (+800)

Anthony Hopkins

The great Anthony Hopkins has a knack for playing characters that are losing their minds so to speak, and in The Father, we watch as his character begins to break down as he ages and doubts who his loved ones are and even himself. It is a turn back the clock performance by Hopkins.

Riz Ahmed - (+1400)

Riz Ahmed

In the Sound of Metal, Riz Ahmed plays a musician drummer whose life gets turned upside down when he beings to lose his hearing.  Ahmed is sensational in the role and while he will go up against Boseman and Hopkins he is a long shot to win the award.

Gary Oldman - (+2000)

Gary Oldman

One of the best actors of any generation the transformative Gary Oldman plays Herman J. Mankiewicz in the David Fincher film about 1920’s Hollywood. Oldman as usual is phenomenal in the lead role and could be a dark horse to win the award.

Steven Yeun - (+2500)

Steven Yeun

Steven Yeun gets his first nomination in "Minari", a film about a Korean family that moves to Arkansas in the 1980’s. At +2500 the chances that Yeun wins the award are remote, especially considering the other actors on the ballot.
