Donald Trump’s feud with LeBron James is one of the worst-kept secrets in the NBA since POTUS and the Los Angeles Lakers superstar don’t miss a chance to go after one another, taking shots like it is candy, even more now that the US Election 2020 is a couple of hours away.
We all know LeBron is not a fan of Trump and it's the same the other way around, regardless of how great the King is on the court. Well, James recently claimed he wouldn’t engage in any exchange with the president since he’s not about beefing with anybody, but that’s different for Trump, who is still charging against Bron whenever he has the chance.
One day before Election Day, Trump has sent a big message to the Los Angeles Lakers star, blaming him for the low ratings during the NBA Finals, calling the series ‘boring’ while his supporters chanted anti-LeBron messages.
Donald Trump goes after LeBron’s championship
During a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump addressed the bad ratings of the NBA and NFL, blaming one name for the numbers the association put up during the 2020 NBA Finals in the Orlando bubble.
"How about basketball. How about LeBron James. I felt badly for LeBron. [Ratings] down 71% and that's for their championship. I didn't watch one shot. I get bored. You know why? When they don’t respect our country, when they don’t respect our flag, nobody wants to watch. Nobody.”
He then talked about the NFL and all the problems they are also facing with fans right now, explaining that the players need to stand for the anthem and respect the flag, otherwise nobody would watch their product. Trump said all of this while the crowd started chanting ‘LeBron James s*ucks,’ something that made him very happy and he even asked if they wanted him to stay.
Election Day is a few hours away and everybody is doing everything they can to get their votes. Trump is not the exception and he appears to be the one trying harder. He went after LeBron and this won’t probably be the last time he does it regardless of the results of the 2020 elections.
