Liga MX already confirmed that the incident is under investigation and the consequences could be huge for Fernando Hernandez. According to the rules in Mexico, a 15-game suspension could be the minimum for the referee and a full-year sanction is clearly a possibility. Furthermore, FIFA could take away his international badge.

Alejandro Zendejas had a tear in his right leg during the first half of the match between America and Santos Laguna in Torreon. The 24-year old midfielder left the field on a strecther with visible pain after his muscular problem.

In minute 16′, Alejandro Zendejas tried to help teammate Emilio Lara on defense and, on that sprint, he felt pain in the right leg and fell to the ground. He immediately asked for medical assistance.

A few days ago, Alejandro Zendejas had extra load of work when he traveled to the USMNT minicamp. He even played 90 minutes in the friendly match against Serbia. The final medical diagnosis will be revealed on Monday, but, according to the first reports, Alejandro Zendejas could miss at least four weeks.

This is definitely not the start Club America envisioned for Clausura 2023. Two ties in two games, at home against Queretaro and on the roadwith Toluca, don’t meet the expectations for a clubwho is the favorite to win it all in Liga MX. There are many doubts around this team, especially on defense.

On the other side, after losing 5-1 in the opener at Pachuca, Puebla bounced back with a 2-0 victory at home over Queretaro. It’s important to remember that this team lost a symbol in coach Nicolas Larcamon and are living a new process with Eduardo Arce.
