According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, De’Zhaun Stribling did not practice on Saturday due to what the 49ers called hamstring tightness. Stribling is one of the most controversial rookie WRs in this class due to his position in the NFL Draft.

Stribling was the first player chosen in the second round by the 49ers where there were other names better ranked. Hence, Stribling has to deliver due to his draft position, and of course, due to the Niners’ necessities right now.

How does Stribling fits into the 49ers WR room?

Rookie De’Zhaun Stribling fits into the San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver room as an developmental vertical target and potential Z receiver option. Playing alongside veteran addition Mike Evans and the returning Deebo Samuel, Stribling benefits from an elite supporting cast while fighting for rotational snaps.

The three of them make a very physical, tough WR room. Samuel is notorious for yards after catch and withstanding contact. Evans is famous for his toughness, and Stribling fits that mold.

Kyle Shanahan must be tired from all the injuries

Evans has suffered serious injuries last season, as well as Deebo Samuel, and now Pearsall will miss the season and Stribling is dealing with hamstring issues. Hence, once again Kyle Shanahan is dealing with a hurt WR room, who can get even more hurt if luck doesn’t join them.

Chiefs rookie receiver Allen, who dominated training camp headlines due to his great showings, collided with a teammate during a special teams punt drill. The 23-year-old was assisted off the field before being carted to the locker room with a leg injury.

Momentum for the Cincinnati fifth-round rookie is stalled pending injury updates. However, being carted off is never a good sign. Also, watching the incident happen in a lesser drill is even more of a bitter moment.

Cyrus Allen was projected as a prominent part of the offense

Allen was expected to play the WR3 role behind Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy. However, given the durability concerns of both Rice and Worthy, Allen was poised to get plenty of looks, especially after impressing early in training camp.

Depending on the severity of the injury, this could really derail the start of Allen’s NFL career. Playing with Mahomes and Andy Reid would be massive for prospect like Cyrus Allen. The team will have to wait for the results of the tests.

As of now, the Chiefs have a slim WR depth chart in terms of quality weapons for Patrick Mahomes. However, Travis Kelce is still there as a tight end, so that has to be counted as a top-tier weapon.

Browns RB coach Duce Staley stated that he thinks Quinshon Judkins “can play all three downs” this season. Judkins only played 35 third downs last season, which predominantly went to Jerome Ford and Dylan Sampson.

Ford is now off the team and Judkins seems to have really separated himself from Sampson. Judkins was really coming into his own with a great rookie season until he suffered a season-ending leg injury. A few days ago, it was reported by Mary Kay Cabot that Judkins was a full go in the Browns training camp.

Judkins is a high-floor, high-ceiling RB

Before going down in Week 16, Judkins posted a 230-837-7 line in 14 games last season. He was the most dangerous player on the Browns offense that used too many quarterbacks, including Shedeur Sanders.

If Deshaun Watson earns QB1 status, the offense will still rely heavily on Quinshon Judkins. The running back is electric, versatile, and by all means, a playmaker. Hence, regardless of the quarterback, Judkins should be in for a massive sophomore season if health allows it.

The Browns offense should look very differently

The Browns scheme was designed by former head coach Kevin Stefanski. Now, it’s Todd Monken’s time to install a new offense and identity into the team. Monken does share the love for a good running game with Stefanski, but his schemes differ quite a bit.

Todd Monken’s offensive scheme is a spread-out, shotgun-heavy approach loosely inspired by the Air Raid and multiple personnel sets. In contrast, Kevin Stefanski runs a traditional West Coast, under-center, wide-zone run heavy system that relies heavily on play-action and multi-tight end alignments.

Brian Costello of the New York Post reported that the Jets are signing Cam Camper to their 90-man roster. This came at a cost, as Gee Scott, who got injured last Thursday, was waived with an injury designation.

Camper played for Orlando in the UFL this spring. He finished the season with 23 receptions for 340 yards and a total of three touchdowns. Camper signed with the Jaguars after going undrafted out of Boise State last year. He was part of the final cuts in Jacksonville and now could end up being a new weapon for Geno Smith.

Cam Camper’s WR profile

Camper stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 198 pounds. He was born on August 21, 2001. He started at Trinity Valley Community College, played three seasons at Indiana (2022–2023), and transferred to Boise State for the 2024 season. Camper earned All-Mountain West honors at Boise State.

He is a large, imposing target who can shield defenders from the ball. However, he has major durability flags, highlighted by a significant torn ACL during his stint at Indiana which interrupted his momentum. Also, his top speed is not exactly a blazing one.

Camper still has to fight for a spot on the final 53-man roster

Being signed doesn’t mean Camper will be a part of the New York Jets when the season begins. However, it’s a first step. Now, he must impress to make it into the final 53-man roster to start the season.

The Jets will have eight WRs fighting to get into the final roster, as Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, Omar Cooper Jr., and Tim Patrick are already pretty much a guarantee to be on the roster.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Buccaneers offered Baker Mayfield a two-year extension worth slightly over $100 million. This structure results in a $72.5 million “new-money” annual average when accounting for the previous $27.5 million in “old-money.”

The contract dispute likely comes down to a difference in perspectives. Baker Mayfield focuses on the total average from signing and the Buccaneers evaluating the new-money average. In this scenario, a two-year extension worth over $100 million brings a new-money annual average value exceeding $50 million. Conversely, looking at the entire three-year commitment lowers the real average from the date of signing to $42.5 million.

There is no sign that any part will budge

The difference comes down to a few million, but also it relies on principle right now. Mayfield is emotionally hurt now. In fact, Mayfield warned the Buccaneers that they’ll regret this decision.

If money talks are already difficult, money talks with feelings involved are even worse. Hence, it seems like this has turned into bad-blood negotiations. Hence, why they stalled.

Kiffin is one of College Football’s most brilliant playcallers. Leavitt said the following, “It truly is just a different situation. You talk about being a pro, trying to be the best version of yourself. There’s no other place to do it.“

LSU is a top-tier program and with Kiffin at the helm, the expectations are that the Tigers contend to be National Champions. Now, it’s up to Leavitt to be able to withstand the pressure and competition that brings being the QB1 of a prestigious program.

Leavitt is a dual-threat playmaker who can create on off-schedule plays and extend drives with his legs. Also, Kiffin has a proven record of elevating transfer quarterbacks into star performers.

According to Connor Hughes of SNY, Braxton Berrios is making “play after play after play” so far in the Giants training camp working as the second-team slot WR. Hence, he could be earning more and more snaps. By the way, Malik Nabers already ramped up the workload, so all news are good for the Giants right now.

Berrios has always been a respected player in the NFL. In fact, some might say he has been perennially underrated. Berrios has just 1,360 career-yards in seven years, but he’s developed a clutch reputation in the NFL.

Berrios is more than just a receiver

Braxton Berrios has an All-Pro to his name though it’s not because of his input as a wide receiver. In fact, it’s because there’s more to his game than just receiving. Berrios is an elite returner.

Whether it’s returning kicks or punts, Berrios has a danger factor to him every time he lines up as a returner. The Giants have a weapon on special teams as well with Berrios on the roster.

The New York Giants have revamped their offense with veterans that could still provide one last dance. They will pair that with talented prospects, so there’s a nice balance.

Per Maiocco, “it’s reasonable, rational, logical, for the 49ers to not expect Ricky Pearsall to make any contribution in 2026.” Hence, it seems like the 49ers will once again plan life without Pearsall.

The 49ers have an aging WR room

Pearsall is 25 years old. He is supposed to be the young fox on the WR roster. He might not even be able to play, and the other prominent wideouts in the room are not exactly spring chickens.

The young wideouts also have injury history

The 49ers have some young wideouts with lesser relevance. However, they also have injury history. Jacob Cowing missed the whole 2025 regular season with a shoulder injury, a concussion, and a lingering hamstring strain.

Rookie De’Zhaun Stribling hasn’t debuted in the NFL, but he suffered a season-ending broken wrist/hand, as well as missing time for a concussion. Hence, the 49ers WR room is always balancing on a thread, whether for age or for health.

Infantino proposed a plan to create a private commercial entity to manage the FIFA World Cup and other major FIFA events. This entity would be called the FIFA Forward Enterprise. To end the statement, which pretty much aligns with UEFA, Concacaf members concluded with three main conclusions. All center towards transparency, and preserve the integrity of the game:

“- Rejected the proposal
– Tasked their FIFA Council Members with engaging FIFA to determine how existing FIFA reserves could be used to increase FIFA Forward funding for football development across our region; and
– Tasked their FIFA Council Members with instructing the FIFA President to ensure that any matter follows the proper governance processes via staff and FIFA Council, in accordance with the FIFA Statutes.”

Concacaf didn’t go as big as UEFA, but could

UEFA directly admitted that if the FIFA Forward Enterprise goes forward, the European entity would directly boycott tournaments. Concacaf didn’t go that far. But, if the issue at hand keeps going, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of the possibilities that Concacaf does the same.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, “Do not expect a Puka Nacua contract extension before the season. Do not.” Hence, Nacua should focus on balling out this year to make his pricetag just go bigger and bigger for the Rams to payout.

Rapoport also stated that Nacua is in a better place mentally than he has been in previous training camps. Arguably the NFL‘s best WR, Nacua’s off-field shenanigans are his biggest roadblocks. However, it seems he is in a better place.

Nacua has established himself as an elite WR

In just three years in the NFL, Nacua already reached all-time great levels. If he decided to retired today, Nacua would be the the all-time leader in yards per game with 95.3. In fact, it’s absolutely insane that Nacua reached these levels all through his rookie contract.

Nacua averages 104.3 catches for 1.397 yards per season, alongside 6.3 touchdowns. Nacua’s abilities to run routes, catch through traffic and be basically unguardable have made him one of the best wideouts in the NFL.

Nacua has overcome all the odds

Nacua came into the league without much hype. He was at Washington and BYU and was drafted 177th overall, in the fifth round. Nacua wasn’t even expected to become this star, as the Rams had triple-crown winner Cooper Kupp.

Nacua started steamrolling defenders from his first game. He became the Rams WR1 in no time, and then he climbed into the top of the NFL. As of now, he is in the same conversation as Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson, to mention a few.

Per Ben Rumsby and Tom Morgan of The Telegraph, Nasser Al-Khelaifi is really getting supporters to think he has the best chance of challenging Gianni Infantino at next year’s FIFA presidential election. Infantino has not made any fans with some of his decisions lately. In fact, UEFA already confirmed it will boycott FIFA tournaments, including the World Cup, if Infantino insists with a private investment proposal.

Al-Khelaifi has made history by making PSG one of the best teams in the world of soccer. Not afraid to make big investments, Al-Khelaifi seems to have gathered plenty of backers for next year.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi is a very clever sports business man. As he identifies opportunities, he invests. As of right now, he is also the Chairman of Premier Padel, the official professional padel tour. Padel is one of the fastest-rising sports in the world, and Al-Khelaifi has been at the forefront of that growth.

Obviously, becoming FIFA president is a way bigger, prominent, and busy role. Hence, some big-time planning and preparation will be needed. Still, it’s noteworthy that Al-Khelaifi knows how to handle those kinds of responsibilities.

The one roadblock for Al-Khelaifi

If Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to contend to be FIFA’s president, he would have to resign from his PSG, Premier Padel, and beIN Media Group roles. This is because he would breach FIFA Governance Rules, which state the following:

• Conflict of Interest: FIFA’s strict Code of Ethics and governance regulations prohibit the president from holding active management or executive roles in professional clubs, leagues, or commercial media entities that deal with broadcasting rights.

Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reported that Glenn praised the rookie’s versatility and said Sadiq will be “a huge weapon” for the Jets offense. However, he will have to compete as the tight end room on the Jets has talent.

Sadiq still has plenty of hype around him, after all, he was the 16th overall pick in the NFL Draft. But, the Jets found a very serviceable tight end in second-rounder Mason Taylor last season. Taylor and Sadiq’s skill sets are very different, but both should see plenty of snaps.

Taylor is more of a reliable blocker than Sadiq while also being a pure inline tight end. Taylor had 44 catches for 369 yards and one touchdown. Even though the numbers aren’t amazing, context matters. The Jets passing offense was dead last in the NFL last year.

As for Sadiq, he is a big presence in the slot position and he is way more explosive, fast, and prolific route-runner. As a receiver, Sadiq has a way higher ceiling than Taylor. In the blocking department, he is still very raw.

The NY Jets will have a new-look offense

The Jets focused heavily on revamping the offense during the offseason. A new quarterback, a new offensive coordinator in Frank Reich and plenty of new weapons have arrived at the Meadowlands. This is how the offense will look:

Super Bowl contenders who lack defensive line prowess should watch Vea with shining eyes. Teams that feel like they’re a defensive tackle away from contending could also take a leap of faith on Vea.

A team like the San Francisco 49ers that won 12 games last year could see Vea as a huge upgrade over Alfred Collins or Osa Odighizuwa. Also, Vea is a California native that could be tempted to come back home.

Jim Harbaugh prioritizes physical, dominant line play. Vea fits the exact mold of a trench-controlling defensive tackle required to anchor the defensive scheme on the Los Angeles Chargers.

Teams that could build around Vea

A team like the Las Vegas Raiders could see a great option in pairing Vea’s elite run-stuffing ability next to Maxx Crosby, who would give the Raiders one of the most physically imposing defensive lines in the NFL.

The Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears could also look into Vea’s situation and put some offers on the table. Both teams have high expectations and could use Vea to boost their seasons.

Moore is an undrafted free agent who had a tryout for the Panthers in the spring. Now, he gets a new home in Jersey. Moore played for Iowa State during his college days.

Now, Jaxson Dart could potentially have a rising weapon in Moore. Dart, who was a contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year, could very well use a new tight end in both the receiving and blocking department.

Moore played 12 games for Iowa State in 2025 and he was used way more as a blocking TE rather than a receiving one. Moore had seven catches for 118 yards with no touchdowns.

Hence, it’s unlikely that Moore will become one of Dart’s favorite targets. In fact, Moore’s first challenge is to stay on the roster, then get snaps, then do well, and then evolve into an actual weapon.

The Giants have now bolstered their tight end depth chart quite a lot compared to last year’s. The NFL has transformed tight ends into key additions on a roster. Hence, this is what their TE room looks like:

At one point, Laine was expected to be one of the top scorers in the NHL. Now, he has no team. Since Laine missed so many games the last two seasons due to injuries and other shenanigans, Mehta could offer him a minimum salary with bonus additions and Laine might just accept it.

If Laine is still good at shooting, the Devils need him

Laine has created a reputation of being quite a headache. However, if he proves to still have a 98.37 MPH top shot, the Devils could, at a bargain price, be very tempted to give him a shot at redemption.

However, if Laine is not capable to provide top-tier shooting, then he has no prominent future in the NHL. Laine is not fast and no one in the league regards him as a tough guy. One workout would give the Devils all the info needed for them to see if Laine can help the team or not.

How do the Devils project for next season?

The New Jersey Devils project as a bounce-back playoff threat for the 2026 NHL season under new GM Sunny Mehta, relying on a healthy core led by Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier. Mehta also revamped the goaltending depth, and the team has hopes on young pieces like Luke Hughes.

The team added veteran depth like Evan Rodrigues and signed forward Anthony Mantha to a two-year deal. Still, the Devils have some doubters. They need to find ways to score consistently and they could be dangerous.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Daniel Jones himself stated he is fully recovered and ready to roll. “I’m feeling really good and I’m gonna be full go to start training camp… I’m ready to go,” said a smiley Jones.

This is a wonderful piece of news for the Colts, as they saw in Jones a surging quarterback who is also a tough competitor. Jones was having arguably his best season in the NFL until injuries hampered him.

Jones signed a lucrative deal despite his injury

Quarterback Daniel Jones signed a historic two-year, $88 million contract extension with the Indianapolis Colts in March 2026. The value of this contract can go up to $100 million with incentives.

Achilles tendon tears can take from six months to a year of recovery depending on how severe the tear was. Jones had a full tear, and he was playing through a left leg fibula fracture too. Hence, the fact is that his recovery has been outstanding and way ahead of schedule.

Daniel Jones is the Colts only hope for the QB position

Not only did the Colts blindly trusted Jones by giving him this contract, but there are not really that many alternatives. Anthony Richardson was given permission to seek a trade and Riley Leonard and Easton Stick are low-end QBs.

Hence, Daniel Jones is the Colts’ hope, at least for the next two years, to have decent quarterback play. Jones had 3,101 yards on 68% completion, 19 TDs and eight interceptions with a 100.2 rate. His numbers were not stellar, but highly effective.

However, much has been said about Brown’s knee issues in the past, but the Patriots aren’t too concerned on those issues. Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reported that Vrabel is not worried a lot.

“I think a lot of things get fabricated, and people tell stories. We’re very confident in where he’s at physically. He’s done every single thing. Will he do every single thing? Nope… But I think he’s gotten off to a really good start, both mentally and physically, and acclimating himself to his team,” Vrabel said.

AJ Brown is still a very reliable receiver despite the knee concerns. In fact, Brown has missed just 12 games in his 7-year career. Brown has played in 105 out of a possible 117 regular-season games.

Taylor also reported that Reid set no timetable for Bieniemy to return, as family is priority. In the meantime, Joe Bleymaier, who usually serves as the team’s pass game coordinator, will take over the offensive coordinator duties until Bieniemy returns.

While Bieniemy attends his wife, Bleymaier will step up as the interim OC. Bleymaier has been with the Chiefs for a decade, joining the franchise in 2016 as the quality control coach.

Bleyamier’s duties and roles have changed a lot over the years, but he is a very well respected coach within the Chiefs confines. In fact, Bleymaier was one of the assistant coaches for the Chiefs given credit for helping them convert a 4th-and-1 play in the 2020 AFC Divisional Round that helped them advance into the next round of the playoffs.

Andy Reid is still at the helm

While the Chiefs are dealing with all this, the fact remains that the offense still relies heavily on the brain of Andy Reid, the head coach of the team. Reid has always been regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the NFL.

While he lets the OCs work and put their inputs into the Chiefs games, playcalling and concepts still run through Reid. As of now, the focus is on Bieniemy to be there for his wife, Reid and Bleymaier to plan on what’s ahead for the offense, and Patrick Mahomes to keep rehabbing his knee as he wants to get ready for Week 1.

Mike LaFleur and the Cardinals confirmed Brissett as QB1 on the depth chart, but he went even further than that. LaFleur said “We can move on with the football aspect of it.” Drama is over, let’s play football.

Jacoby Brissett will become a free agent after his new contract with the Arizona Cardinals. But, at least for now, it’s all settled and the Cardinals will deal with another QB battle in due time, not now.

Brissett’s 2025 season might grant him the QB1

The Cardinals have Gardner Minshew and Carson Beck on the depth chart, but Brissett still reigns over them. Despite none of the three being world beaters, Brissett at least was a starter last season.

Brissett started 12 games and got a 1-11 record, which is bad. However, individually, he completed 65% of his passes for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The Cardinals are still in an uphill battle

Playing in the NFC West puts the Cardinals in an immediate tough scenario. The San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams are all Super Bowl contenders. Meanwhile, the Cardinals barely even got their QB1 a week before preseason starts.

The schedule is tough, they have a new head coach in Mike LaFleur that has never been a head coach in the NFL before, a lackluster offensive coordinator in Nathaniel Hackett, and a very under-talented roster. Hence, this rebuild might take time before the Cardinals see actual results.

According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, independent doctors have cleared Madubuike to return to practice as soon as next week. The Ravens would recover a two-time Pro Bowler if Madubuike is able to come back in full force.

The Ravens are in desperate need of a defensive line revamp and with new head coach Jesse Minter, Madubuike could be an incredible addition to the 2026 team. After all, the Ravens brought Minter to get the defense back to its top-tier standards.

The Ravens pass rush was really bad in 2025

Baltimore ranked 29th in sacks last season. No player had more than five sacks, and the leader was Travis Jones, who is on the PUP list right now. Hence, Madubuike would be very impactful for this team.

Madubuike is a very strong presence in the interior line, it would help the Ravens massively. The Ravens are used to having big-time defenses and Madubuike has all the pedigree to lead the way.

McVay also gave an update on Puka Nacua amid holdout rumors. The head coach has had a busy start to the training camp. The Rams have big hype behind them and now Corum could be one of the big factors to improve the team.

Blake Corum’s 2025 NFL season

Corum’s sophomore NFL season was one that saw him get increased snaps and that ended up being a very productive season for an RB2. Corum ended 2025 with 746 yards and six touchdowns.

Corum has shown he is a highly efficient running back for the Los Angeles Rams known for his exceptional vision, low center of gravity, and elite contact balance. He proved to be very reliable in short-yardage plays.

Rams offense looks like world beaters for next season

Having arguably the NFL’s best wide receiver in Puka Nacua, the reigning MVP in Matthew Stafford and mastermind like Sean McVay will certainly boost this team into new heights.

Hence, even if all the narratives point to the coaching staff and the offense, the Giants have also found someone who is young, exciting, but also mature to keep their defense strong and united.

Kayvon Thibodeaux needs to step up on the field too

While the Giants see Thibodeaux as a key component in the locker room, they also need him to step up inside the gridiron. Thibodeaux is entering the final year of his rookie contract. However, as of now he is a rotational piece behind Brian Burns and Abdul Carter.

The 2023 NFL season is the only time Thibodeaux has gotten more than 5.5 sacks and reached double digits. In 2025, Thibodeaux had 2.5 sacks, 25 combined tackles, five tackles for loss and nine QB hits in 10 games, which he started.

NY Giants projected starting defense for 2026 NFL season

As the Giants prepare for a new season, the defense suffered plenty of new changes. In fact, there are some questions as to who will be starting for the G-Men. This is their projected lineup:

The positive thing is that the Chiefs didn’t consider placing Delane on the PUP list. This suggests this is a relatively minor injury. Hence, it seems like all parties are in agreement as to the return timetable for Delane. In fact, Andy Reid also provided a positive injury update on Delane.

The Chiefs need Delane badly

Kansas City lost starting corners Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to the Rams this offseason. Hence, Delane is really someone that the Chiefs need to play exceptionally well from the start of the 2026 NFL season.

Thankfully for the Chiefs, Mansoor Delane is considered an elite, high-level cornerback prospect. Also, Kansas City has been able to scout this position pretty well in recent years. Hence, the benefit of the doubt must be given to the team.

Delane has upside and coaching to his benefit

Delane has plenty of potential and upside. He delivered the goods in all key scouting stats. But Delane’s tools are not only exciting by themselves, but also he enters a great situation altogether.

The Chiefs have one of the best defensive coordinators in history in Steve Spagnuolo. That will help Delane massively to not only be great from the get-go, but also develop to his best potential.

Olmo spoke to Diari de Terrassa, via Mundo Deportivo, reacting to Ayala expressing regret over the scuffle in the 2026 World Cup final and said, “Someone who claims to be remorseful but justifies a punch by saying it was a response to ‘something said’ is almost certainly not actually remorseful.”

But Olmo didn’t stop there. He called Ayala a liar. “He is not telling the truth, because I didn’t say anything to him, so I don’t need him to apologize. What truly defines us is not the mistake, but the courage to own up to it.” This all stems from Ayala punching Olmo in the face in the aftermath of the Spain vs Argentina World Cup final.

Olmo didn’t retaliate at all

When the incident happened, Olmo didn’t respond to the punch by Ayala. In fact, it was Eric Garcia the one that pushed the Argentina coach back. This has been a hugely controversial incident as Olmo has been praised for his calm and composure.

On the other hand, Ayala has been heavily scrutinized by this act. He is a coach, a much older personality and it seems like it all stemmed from something that Olmo said. Though now, Olmo has denied ever saying something.

Neither party has faced any consequences yet

While Olmo has nothing to fear, as he is a victim in this incident, Ayala might suffer some consequences. Ayala hasn’t been punished yet, but FIFA launched an official investigation.

Ayala could be suspended for a period of time and also, due to his actions, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) could be heavily fined. However, no decision has been made as of now.

In fact, Madubuike’s race is not against time, but against his own well-being. The neck injury is a career-threatening harm. Hence, the Ravens faced a difficult decision to place him on the PUP list not because of Madubuike’s timeline, but because the career of a dear player is hanging by a thread.

However, the team is looking for a silver lining. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Madubuike, who has been sidelined him since week 2 last year, is still not ready to play, but the Ravens are optimistic that he can return this season.

Madubuike was becoming a force to be reckoned with

In the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Madubuike was a Pro Bowler twice. He had a total of 19.5 sacks, 99 combined tackles, two forced fumbles and 50 QB hits. Madubuike was becoming one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL.

Fellow defensive lineman Travis Jones stepped up as the primary interior presence on the Baltimore Ravens defensive line. In 2025, Jones delivered with five sacks, 47 combined tackles, and one forced fumble.

There’s one issue with Travis Jones

Unfortunately for the Ravens, Jones is also on the PUP list, as he is recovering from a pectoral injury. The timeline for Jones is clearer than Madubuike’s though, as he might very well be back before the season starts.

Now, as for good news, 49ers’ general manager John Lynch still said that he is “optimistic on all of them [Kittle, Isaac Guerendo, Alfred Collins] hitting the practice field sooner than later.”

This is not a full indictment, as players can be moved off the PUP list at any point during camp. The problem is if they transition from the active training camp list to the Reserve/PUP list at the final 53-man roster cutdown deadline. This forces them to sit out a minimum of the first four regular-season games.

Kittle’s recovery is a tough one

Kittle suffered a torn right Achilles on January. Given that this injury usually takes from nine to 12 months to recover, Kittle is on track, though hopes of him getting the nod for a Week 1 appearance are decreasing.

As of now, Kittle should be scheduled to come back between Week 4 and 6 of the NFL season if it slows down a bit. Kittle is a key component of this offense, so the Niners need him to come back at his fullest.

Kittle could miss key games for the 49ers

While the 49ers want him ready by Week 1, or Week 2 at worse, the fact is this is a very tough injury to overcome. If he comes back, cautiously, for a Week 5 encounter, Kittle would miss the following games:

• Week 1: Thursday, Sept. 10 at Los Angeles Rams (in Australia)
• Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 20 vs. Miami Dolphins
• Week 3: Sunday, Sept. 27 vs. Arizona Cardinals
• Week 4: Sunday, Oct. 4 vs. Denver Broncos

Per Stu Jackson, Rams Senior Staff Writer, Sean McVay said that Aaron Donald is “going through his process, and he is putting himself in a position to make a decision” on whether he wants to play. If Donald decides to, the Rams will make it happen, per Jackson. Still, McVay is unclear on what will happen.

Aaron Donald is arguably the best defensive player of all time, he belongs to the elite of the elite. Add that to the fact that the Rams traded for Myles Garrett in the offseason, and the pair would be an incredible problem for the opponents to deal with.

Aaron Donald is just one of many storylines going on for the Rams

It’s also been noted that Puca Nakua reported to training camp for the Rams, but he is still in need of a new contract as this is his final year in his rookie deal. Hence, the Rams are working to go all in on all fronts.

Aaron Donald has been having some workouts in the Rams facilities as he is still testing himself to see if he is able to come back. Donald is arguably the Rams’ best player ever, so everyone is hoping for one last, glorious dance.

Rams are a Super Bowl-or-bust team

With or without Aaron Donald, the fact is that the Rams are a Super Bowl contender. They have an elite coach in Sean McVay, the reigning MVP in Matthew Stafford, arguably the best receiving room in the NFL, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Myles Garrett, and an elite organization top to bottom.

Per Sarah Barshop of ESPN, Sean McVay said Puka Nacua will be at training camp and will take part in the Rams practices. Many rumors stated that Nacua, who is looking for a very lucrative extension, might holdout, but that is not the case.

Nacua is one of the best wideouts in the NFL and has established himself as one of the most lethal weapons in football. However, in a world where WR are mainly diva-esque when seeking contracts, Nacua is taking another approach.

Nacua will go for a record-setting number

Following recent monster deals for wide receivers (Jaxon Smith-Njigba at $42.15M/year and Ja’Marr Chase at $40.25M/year), Nacua’s elite efficiency metrics justify resetting the WR market. The Rams should make it a priority to keep him on the roster. Estimations throw around a range from $42.5 million to $45 million per year.

Nacua had an NFL-leading 129 receptions for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns last year. He also led the NFL in yards per game with 107.2 and in receiving first downs with 80. All this granted him All-Pro honors.

The Rams could still use the Franchise Tag

If the Rams choose not to commit $40M+ per year immediately, they retain leverage with the 2027 Franchise Tag (projected around $31.5 million). This could very well be used by the Rams if needed, as they are also awaiting on the decision of Aaron Donald.

If Donald comes back, the Rams must pay him a heavy price, as Donald is under contract that had one year and $30 million left. So the fact is the Rams have to play chess on these contractual negotiations.

Cunningham was in an interview with Complex Bets, and at first, she asked if the move was “actually real.” Once she got the confirmation, Cunningham stated, “I mean, we were kind of talking about there’s only one ball amongst a lot of stars. So I think that’ll be interesting.“

Cunningham then added a concerning situation but couldn’t hide her excitement to see how it’ll all unfold, “But like, how cool? I think that that team is going to draw a lot of attention. I’m curious to know how it’s going to pan out. But good for him [LeBron James].”

And Cunningham is not wrong here. Time and time again we’ve seen teams filled with incompatible stars. When looking at the 76ers potential lineup with LeBron James on the roster, one should wonder how it’ll all work out.

There are a couple of glaring problems on the 76ers right now

One thing that really is concerning is the amount of games they will all play together. LeBron, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe provide plenty of talent, but also a history for missing time.

Over the last two seasons, Embiid has played only 57 games, Maxey has missed time with finger, hamstring, and ankle injuries, James has had to manage ankle and foot injuries, as well as load management due to his age. Jaylen Brown has suffered minor hip, knee, and illness issues that have sidelined him, while Edgecombe has missed time due to calf strains and lumbar contusions.

On-court problems could also rise

If everyone is healthy, there is still a glaring weakness on the Sixers. While they could physically impose, the perimeter game is below average. In this day and age, being able to live by the three is almost imperative.

The 76ers ranked 23rd in the NBA in both 3-point percentage and 3-point frequency last season. LeBron, who shot just 31.7% from three last season won’t add anything to that. Teams will fill the low post and force them into outer looks, where they won’t be able to capitalize.

Per Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald, Kraft said the Patriots offered Gonzalez a contract that would make him the highest-paid CB in the NFL and the highest-paid player in Pats’ history. That is a huge statement that gives Gonzalez a huge boost for the future.

Kyed also reported that Gonzalez is participating in full-team drills at training camp. While the estimated amount of the contract has not been revealed yet, if Gonzo is poised to become the highest-paid CB in the NFL, the number to beat is $31 million per year.

Gonzalez has still ways to go to reach his prime

Gonzalez is just 24 years old, he will reach his prime in about three years. Hence, he is still trending upwards. Despite suffering an ACL tear during his rookie season, Gonzalez has played 30 out of 34 possible games in the last two seasons.

He’s been elite so far, being an All-Pro Second Team in 2024 and a Pro Bowler in 2025. Gonzalez has 145 tackles, 24 passes defended, three interceptions, and has allowed a career 56.9% completion to quarterbacks targeting him.

Gonzalez is arguably the best cornerback in the NFL

Alongside Broncos’ Pat Surtain II and Texans’ Derek Stingley Jr., Christian Gonzalez is, by many, a top three cornerback in the NFL. Gonzalez belongs to an elite tier of players and will be compensated as one.

Per Charles Goldman of AtoZSports, “Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes says that he’s talked to Tom Brady, Tyrann Mathieu, and Zach Ertz about his knee injury recovery, getting some advice from players who have suffered similar injuries.”

That is a very huge sign of maturity by Patrick Mahomes. Brady, not so long ago, was Mahomes’ nemesis in the league. Now, Mahomes is seeking a retired Brady for advice. Also, speaking to a former teammate like Tyrann Mathieu and a respected veteran like Zach Ertz speaks to Mahomes’ will to get back to his best.

Mahomes recovery timetable

Now that Andy Reid revealed Patrick Mahomes’ status is a good one, the timetable is very optimistic. Mahomes suffered his ACL tear the last December, so the 9-month period recovery should be up by Week 1. Hence, he is right on track.

Now, Mahomes is not looking at just recovering, but getting back to his best shape. If Mahomes manages to do so, he could really be rewriting history. Mahomes is a Chiefs legend already, and he could be an even bigger one if he delivers a ring after a knee injury.

Who can replace Mahomes if necessary?

If Patrick Mahomes suffers a setback, which would be unfortunate, the Chiefs would have Justin Fields stepping up as the quarterback. Fields is very mobile, but the Chiefs would suffer a lot in terms of arm-strength and accuracy.

Reid said, “Pat (Mahomes) is doing great with his [recovery]. He’s cleared to practice in all the different periods we have in camp… He’s been cleared to participate in full.”

Hence, after a blown knee, Mahomes is scheduled to take the field in Week 1 and that’s absolutely and positively great for the Chiefs. Mahomes is clearly a difference-maker and is the best quarterback in the 2020s decade.

Reid gave other injury updates on the Chiefs

“Omarr Norman-Lott will most likely start on the PUP list, but is making progress,” Reid said about the defensive tackle. Hence, the defense will have to wait a bit to get their defensive line fully healthy.

As for Rashee Rice, Reid said, “Rashee Rice, with his knee debridement, is doing great… He is cleared to go.” So in that case, Mahomes and his best weapon are ready to roll.

Mahomes revamps this offense in massive ways

An elite QB makes a good offense, a great one. A great offense into a top-tier unit and that’s what Mahomes does. He elevates the Chiefs offense in many ways. This is how the Chiefs starting offense looks right now:

According to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN, LaFleur was happy that Brissett reported for the first day of practice. “He’s under contract and it’s the first day of practice,” LaFleur said. However, most importantly he gave a new update on the contractual situation.

LaFleur said talks with Brissett have “been productive between us and his team, so still ongoing but I’d say we’re productive.” This seems to put a close timeline on when things will resolve.

Brissett has to catch up with the Cardinals

Brissett skipped the early portions of the offseason, with a newly-arrived LaFleur. Hence, now the head coach of the Cardinals has stated that Brissett must be caught up to speed.

LaFleur said “We just have to get better. And then when we get to Sept. 13, that’s when we have to say, ‘Hey, did we do everything we could to be the best Cardinal team we could be?‘“

The Cardinals have low expectations for the 2026 NFL season

The Arizona Cardinals face very low expectations and rank near the bottom of power rankings entering the 2026 NFL season. Their roster might have some talent, but overall, the expectations are really low.

Between the talent deficit, the lackluster QB room, their brutal schedule, and a new coaching era, the Cardinals are in for a bad season. Hence, any positives they can find this year are just a silver lining and a sign to build on it for the next year.

Enzo Maresca said, via Fabrizio Romano, that “Rodri will have surgery on a back problem on Monday. He needs holiday, he needs to rest, recovery, and then he will be back here with us.”

The severity of the injury and the return timetable is still not clear, but given that the 2026-2027 Premier League season starts on August 21, it’s likely that Rodri will miss the start of the season. After all, he also needs to rest, as Maresca said.

As James himself stated, he thought last year he had played his last game, not with the Lakers, but in his career. Now, it signs that Philly will be the King’s swan song. One last try to make it all work in a glorious farewell in search of one final ring.

As a result, all eyes will be on Nabers, who is expected to avoid the physically unable to perform list. When he runs, how he runs and when he can practice will be deduced based off his every move.”

Since Pavia was released before training camp began, his options now center on either finding an immediate camp/practice squad fit in the NFL. The alternative is to look for a spot in alternative professional leagues.

First and foremost, the stage is clear: Pavia must find an NFL practice squad or be available as an emergency depth QB. His best NFL fit would be with a team utilizing heavy spread/RPO or mobile QB concepts that needs a scout-team dual-threat passer.

Two teams could serve as Pavia’s destinations

Both the Eagles and Commanders as teams with established mobile quarterbacks. The two teams regularly look for mobile scout-team passers during the season to give their defense realistic practice looks.

Still, Pavia would be more of a training quarterback rather than a real possibility off the bench to enter the field. Also, Pavia should be trying to get a new team as soon as possible. An impressive showing in the NFL preseason could raise his stock for the future.

Feliciano played for the Giants in 2022, and he trained Mauigoa before the draft. While he acknowledged Mauigoa has work to do transition seamlessly, he still has all the confidence in the world that Mauigoa will solve many issues in the trenches for the G-Men.

Feliciano said Mauigoa has to adjust on “the timing of throwing your hands and just how fast things happen inside,” as opposed to on the edges of the line of scrimmage. However, Feliciano believes Mauigoa will “hit the ground running when the season starts.”

Versatility is one of the reasons the Giants drafted Mauigoa

The NY Giants saw Mauigoa as a player that brings size, power, and versatility. He hasn’t played as guard but has all the physical tools to transition into it, and that’s his focus right now. That was a key factor for the New York Giants to draft him 10th overall.

Mauigoa is up to the challenge though. He is determined to start and be a key player for John Harbaugh, who is comparing Jaxson Dart to Tom Brady. For Dart to live up to those comparisons, Mauigoa must be an elite protector.

Mauigoa will have tough tasks from the get-go

The Giants schedule throws three-straight games against highly-talented defensive lines. Hence, Mauigoa will go straight against the wolves of the NFL. In Week 1, he’ll face Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark as the Giants face the Cowboys.

Week 2 is against the Rams, and if rumors of Aaron Donald coming back become true, that is a crazy matchup to have in the second game of Mauigoa’s pro career. Then, in Week 3, the Giants face the Titans, with names like Jeffery Simmons and John Franklin-Myers under Robert Saleh’s elite scheme.

Per Aaron Wilson of NBC Sports, Mixon told former Bengals teammates that his “career is over.” This is just an absolutely devastating piece of news for Mixon, who was in the middle of his prime before the injury.

Wilson also noted that Mixon underwent another surgery this offseason. Hence, there is no indication that Mixon will be able to step foot on the football pitches during the 2026 NFL season.

The Texans already took steps to reinforce the running game

Not only did the Texans find a reliable running back in Woody Marks last season, but they also moved in the free agency. The Texans signed David Montgomery as well, who will bring physicality to the running game. Also, they released Mixon back in March.

Hence, the signs were clear. The Texans were not counting on Mixon coming back, and didn’t want to invest their hopes on it. Also, they now have a mix that perfectly replace Mixon, albeit with two players instead of just one.

Mixon’s career outlook

Mixon is 30 years old and there are not many running backs who remain as strong as before. Add the fact that he hasn’t played in more than a year and that the running backs are the most interchangeable players in the NFL, and it doesn’t look good.

Unfortunately, Mixon got stopped in the best moment of his career. The last time Mixon played a full season, he was stellar. It was in 2024, and Mixon had 1,325 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns.

Hill posted a video of himself working out and said the timeline for his return is still unclear. The more concerning news is that Hill said he has “no power” in his left leg, where he suffered a dislocated knee, torn ACL and LCL during last season.

The Kansas City Chiefs, alongside many other teams who showed some kind of interest, will clearly be wary of signing Hill now. Also, Hill is 32 years old already. Combine his age with his serious knee injury, and the concerns outweigh the upside.

Could Tyreek Hill miss the entire 2026 NFL season?

Fitness-wise, Hill is still optimistic, though his status for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season is in serious jeopardy. Still, a full recovery should happen before the season ends.

The real danger for Hill in 2026 is that no team trusts he is fully fit to actually be of help to the offense. One could argue that aspect is the one that jeopardizes Hill’s season the most.

Emmanwori is not the only one, as running back Kenny McIntosh and cornerback Tyrone Broden were also placed on the PUP list. Still, they are eligible to come off the list at any time.

Emmanwori is the most worrisome, as he is dealing with and undisclosed injury. The young safety was stellar during the 2025 NFL season and instrumental for the Seahawks to achieve Super Bowl glory. In fact, he was a key part of a now historic defensive unit.

PUP list is concerning but not definitive yet

Being placed on the PUP list during training camp is not the end of the road. They can come back at any time the team deems it properly. However, it’s after cutdowns where being on the PUP list is actually a huge blow.

After cutdowns, being on the PUP list means you will miss the first four games of the season no matter what. Hence, Emmanwori, as well as Broden and McIntosh are in a race against time to recover.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Packers are looking to extend Tucker Kraft, who is in the final year of his rookie deal. The only concern comes with Kraft’s knee injury. Kraft suffered an ACL tear in 2025 where he was on pace to get a career-year.

Hence, Paredes should be missing around a month, month-and-a-half of action. This will impact his club, Boca Jrs., as his Argentina endeavors are obviously paused for a while after the FIFA World Cup.
