Brett Favre took a light shot at the Super Bowl halftime show featuring Bad Bunny and revealed what he plans to watch instead of the halftime performance.
Brett Favre knows what it’s like to play on the sport’s biggest stage and has won a championship himself, but he recently weighed in on Super Bowl LX and how he plans to avoid watching the halftime show featuring Bad Bunny, revealing instead that he will be tuning into a program with a more traditionally American music style.

Favre clearly laid out his plans for the Super Bowl LX halftime show in a post on X (@brettfavre). “Not familiar with Bad Bunny so dont know if his music is good or bad. I’m just going to watch what I know Lee Brice, Kid Rock All-American Show.”

Favre’s post on X generated 768,000 views and more than 1,300 replies, with reactions split both in support of and against the comments from the Super Bowl XXXI champion. Favre also shared a photo from his championship run with the Green Bay Packers alongside teammate Reggie White.

Favre get some feedback from fans

The responses to Favre were a mix of critical and mild, with some not sharing the former quarterback’s approach. Many said they did not want to see Bad Bunny, especially after some controversial comments the singer made ahead of the 13-minute halftime show.

Brett Favre’s DOT to Antonio Freeman produced the longest touchdown pass in Super Bowl history (at the time) pic.twitter.com/WxSEFNTgos
— BGPG (@BleedGreenPGold) January 29, 2026

“You’re not alone — I saw a story earlier where the players were asked about their favorite Bad Bunny song and no one seemed to be able to name a BB song, let alone have a favorite,” wrote Beachykeen67 on X (@beachykeen67).

Others reminded Favre that Bad Bunny is far more widely known than he is. “You have 450K followers here. Bad Bunny has 49.8 million followers on Instagram. So apparently a lot more people know who he is than know who you are,” wrote Joel on X (@jpostman).

“This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t understand why in the biggest game of the year we don’t have a traditional halftime show where the panel can discuss the biggest game of the year… instead we parade around pop singers that 90% of football fans don’t care about,” wrote Charlietweets (@whoaitscharlie).

Brett Favre, who knows Aaron Rodgers firsthand, has weighed in on the quarterback's NFL future.
With just a few days left in the NFL season, most teams are already looking ahead to what’s next. One of the biggest questions in the coming months will be Aaron Rodgers’ future as a professional player, and his former teammate Brett Favre already has a formed opinion on the matter.

The question now centers on whether the quarterback will return for another year in the league or make the drastic decision to step away. Favre, who knows him well from their time in Green Bay, believes he should come back to Pittsburgh for at least one more season.

“Aaron still can play,” Favre said on his podcast. “It’s a matter of whether he wants to play and will someone take a chance on him. I think if he really wants to play, someone will take a chance on him. Maybe Pittsburgh. The relationship with he and [Mike] McCarthy certainly is intriguing.”

His stats from last season with the Steelers may be a clear sign that Rodgers still has a lot to give—especially with the arrival of McCarthy, with whom he won a Super Bowl—making a reunion in Steel City far from far-fetched.

Brett Favre with Aaron Rodgers.

McCarthy’s options

With Mike McCarthy now at the helm in Pittsburgh, the Steelers’ quarterback room is centered around veteran Mason Rudolph and the promising Will Howard, a 2025 sixth-round pick out of Ohio State.

While McCarthy has expressed genuine excitement about developing Howard’s upside, the team is keeping all doors open; they are expected to evaluate mid-round prospects in the draft to add competition, while also monitoring free agency if Aaron Rodgers does not return.

Aaron Rodgers continues making NFL history. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has now surpassed Brett Favre in all-time passing touchdowns — but how far is he from catching Tom Brady?
Aaron Rodgers has reached another milestone. In Week 3, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback surpassed Brett Favre in all-time passing touchdowns — but how far is he from Tom Brady?

When the Steelers decided to sign Aaron Rodgers, there were plenty of doubts about his arrival in Pittsburgh. He’s an incredibly talented QB, but his rocky stint with the Jets raised concerns among fans.

After two games, Rodgers has shown he can still be a reliable quarterback. In Week 3, he made history again by throwing a touchdown against the Patriots.

Aaron Rodgers reaches 509 touchdowns: How many does Tom Brady have?

On Sunday, Rodgers surpassed his mentor. The Steelers quarterback threw his 509th career touchdown, overtaking Brett Favre’s 508.

Rodgers is now chasing Peyton Manning, who finished with 539 touchdowns — meaning A-Rod is 30 TDs away from him.

Above Manning is Drew Brees with 571, and at the very top sits Tom Brady, the all-time leader with 649 touchdowns. Unfortunately for Rodgers, it seems unlikely he’ll reach Brady’s record, especially with retirement looming after the 2025 NFL season.

His legacy is not only etched in his statistics but also in the emotional connection he fostered with fans, embodying the spirit of resilience and passion that defines the Packers’ identity.

His performance in the “Ice Bowl,” where he scored the game-winning touchdown in sub-zero temperatures, remains legendary. His leadership on and off the field exemplified the values of discipline and teamwork, earning him the admiration of teammates and opponents alike.

Reggie White

Reggie White (Source: NHL)

His 124 sacks in eight seasons with Philadelphia set the stage for his impactful tenure in Green Bay, where he continued to excel and eventually had his number retired by both the Packers and the Eagles. His legacy transcends his on-field achievements, as he was also known for his philanthropic efforts and leadership within the community.

Don Hutson

Don Houston (Source: NHL)

His innovative route running and ability to read defenses laid the foundation for modern receiving techniques. His contributions to the game were recognized with his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the dedication of the Don Hutson Center, the Packers’ indoor practice facility.

Ray Nitschke

Ray Nitschke (Source: NHL)

He played a pivotal role in the team’s victories in Super Bowl I and II, earning the title of Super Bowl MVP in 1962.

Off the field, his toughness and dedication became synonymous with the Packers’ identity, leading to the retirement of his number 66 and the naming of the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge in his honor.

Paul Hornung

Regarded as one of the greatest players in NFL history, Brett Favre shared his thoughts on Green Bay Packers icon Aaron Rodgers and his standing among the league's all-time best quarterbacks.
As debates over the greatest quarterback in NFL history continue, one name consistently comes up: Tom Brady. However, former Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre recently weighed in on the discussion, revealing his top five quarterbacks of all time and explaining why Aaron Rodgers deserves a spot on the list.

While Rodgers boasts an impressive resume filled with individual accolades and record-breaking stats during his tenure with the Packers, his success in terms of championships has been more limited. With just one Super Bowl title to his name, he is often recognized more for his precision passing and deep-ball ability than for his championship pedigree.

Now facing uncertainty about his future, whether it be retirement or one final season, Rodgers continues to earn praise from NFL greats. Among them is Favre, who not only included him in his all-time top five but also shared his reasoning behind the selection.

Speaking with TMZ Sports in 2023, Favre explained his criteria for the GOAT debate: “The most important statistic is the Super Bowls you have. In that way, you have to put Tom Brady and Joe Montana right at the top, and I think Aaron Rodgers falls in the top five. And I think it’s a matter of generation or likes and dislikes.“

Aaron Rodgers during his stint in the Green Bay Packers

Favre went on to emphasize Rodgers’ place among the game’s elite: “Some people might hate the Bears, some people might love the Packers, and no matter what, they’re gonna pull for their team. But I think Aaron should be in the top five. I think if he quits today, he’s a top-five guy.“

Favre on Rodgers’ place among the top 5 QBs of All Time

Packers legend didn’t hold back when discussing Rodgers’ legacy, offering high praise for the quarterback. While reflecting on his comments about Rodgers being among the top five quarterbacks in NFL history, Favre doubled down on his admiration for the four-time MVP.

As the quarterback who led Green Bay to its last Super Bowl title, Rodgers consistently delivered elite-level performances. Favre made it clear that, in his mind, Rodgers belongs in the conversation among the greatest to ever play the game.

“I think Rodgers is one of the smartest guys in the NFL right now. There are a lot of people smarter than me, but we also know people who are super smart yet have zero common sense, if you know what I mean. They can’t tie their shoes and chew gum at the same time. Aaron may have the highest football IQ of any player I’ve ever played with,” Favre said.

Rodgers’ career records

During his final years with the Packers, Rodgers continued to cement his legacy with historic performances. While he didn’t accumulate as many championships as some of his peers, he set multiple all-time career records that showcase his efficiency and brilliance as a passer.

Rodgers currently holds the all-time career record in the following categories:

Lowest interception percentage: 1.4%

Adjusted yards per pass attempt: 8.22

Career passer rating: 102.6

Most times sacked: 571

NFL legend Brett Favre revealed before a congressional hearing that he is suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
Brett Favre recently shared that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease while speaking at a congressional hearing on welfare reform. The Pro Football Hall of Famer addressed the House Ways and Means Committee, which was discussing how to manage funds for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Favre has received nearly $8 million from these funds, tied to projects like a volleyball stadium at the University of Southern Mississippi and the now-closed drug company Prevacus.

During his 20-year NFL career, Favre played in 321 consecutive regular-season and playoff games. He has mentioned in the past that he likely suffered “thousands” of concussions while playing, which raises concerns about the long-term effects of such injuries on his health.

Parkinson’s disease is a condition that affects the brain and can lead to difficulties with movement. According to the Parkinson’s Foundation, over a million people in the U.S. are living with this disease, and about 90,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Favre’s announcement highlights the ongoing health challenges that many athletes face after their careers.

Brett Favre’s NFL career highlights

Brett Favre had a remarkable 20-year career in the NFL, primarily playing as a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Known for his strong arm and resilience, he became one of the league’s most celebrated players. Favre led the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI and was named the Super Bowl MVP. Throughout his career, he set numerous records, including most career touchdown passes and passing yards at the time of his retirement, showcasing his skill and durability.

Favre’s impact extended beyond statistics; he was admired for his competitive spirit and love for the game. After his time with the Packers, he also played for the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings, where he continued to break records and earn accolades. Favre’s legacy includes three consecutive MVP awards and induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, cementing his status as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

Brett Favre holds several notable NFL records, including the most career interceptions at 336, the longest touchdown pass of 99 yards (tied), and the record for most consecutive starts at 297 (321 when including playoffs).

Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes is widely regarded as the greatest quarterback in the NFL, but a former Super Bowl champion begs to disagree.
With three Super Bowl rings, three Super Bowl MVPs and two NFL MVP awards at just 28, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes has made a strong case to be considered the best active quarterback in the league.

In fact, many even believe the Texas Tech product is among the all-time greats. Brett Favre, however, believes there’s still a better playmaker than Mahomes currently in the NFL, and that’s Aaron Rodgers.

“I’ve said this any time someone asks me about it. Say what you want about Aaron, but he’s arguably the greatest playmaker in the game right now,” Favre told TMZ Sports in an interview published Monday.

Will Aaron Rodgers prove his mentor right in 2024?

Favre, a Super Bowl champion with the Green Bay Packers in the 1996 season, handed the team’s offensive reins to Rodgers in 2008, when he left Lambeau Field for the New York Jets.

His heir apparent went on to win the Super Bowl with the Packers in the 2010 season and led the offense until 2023 when he followed in Favre’s footsteps by joining the Jets. Unfortunately, Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury in his New York debut.

Therefore, the veteran QB will be looking to prove Favre right in 2024, a year in which Mahomes will be looking to pull off an unprecedented three-peat in NFL history with the Chiefs. We’ll have to wait and see whether the Packers legend’s comments prove accurate.

Aaron Rodgers is set to join the New York Jets this year. The Green Bay Packers quarterback would 'copy' Brett Favre's path to the Big Apple in an eerily similar way.
It is a matter of time to see Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets. He wants to play in the Big Apple in 2023, following, and some might say‘copying’, Brett Favre’s path to the AFC East.

Aaron Rodgers’ drama seems to be over. This Wednesday, the 39-year-old quarterback revealed he wants to play for the Jets. Green Bay has the last word, but it seems very unlikely that the NFC North squad retains him.

If the Jets are willing to give the Packers what they ask for the veteran quarterback, Rodgers would recreate what Brett Favre did and move to the Big Apple after being pressured by Green Bay’s front office.

Aaron Rodgers to the Jets: The Packers quarterback follows Brett Favre’s steps

In 2005, the Packers decided to select Aaron Rodgers with the 24th-overall pick. He was seen as the quarterback who would replace Brett Favre and get a good transition for the position.

Favre didn’t like this move at all. He felt relegated by the Packers and, even though he continued as a starter for three more years, Green Bay’s final plan was to give Rodgers his job. In 2008, Brett was traded to New York in exchange for some conditional picks.

Does this sound familiar to what’s happening nowadays? In 2020, the Packers drafted Jordan Love with the 26th-overall pick to be Aaron Rodgers’ replacement, just as he was for Favre.

And of course, Rodgers wasn’t thrilled about this move. This Wednesday, Rodgers revealed Love’s arrival really hurt him as he felt betrayed by the Packers’ front office. For this reason, he has asked to be traded… to the New York Jets.

In this case, the Packers are reportedly asking for two first-round picks for the Super Bowl XLV champion. The Jets desperately need him, so it is likely that they agree to this request in order to get Rodgers.

With the Jets, Favre had a 9-7 record, but it wasn’t enough to advance to the Playoffs. He only played one season with New York and then signed with the Minnesota Vikings to end his career.

Rodgers, who is the same age as Favre was when he moved to the Jets, wants to build a super team with New York in order to succeed. Will he be able to do it and prove to everyone that he’s worth two first-round picks?

The San Francisco 49ers have decided long ago to head into the 2022 NFL season with Trey Lance as their starting quarterback. However, the decision to drop Jimmy Garoppolo continues to make noise, as a legendary QB disagrees with the team.
A year after trading up to select him third overall, theSan Francisco 49ers decided not to wait any longer to promote Trey Lance. This season, the Niners are ready to give the reins to the second-year quarterback over Jimmy Garoppolo, who was the starter since 2017.

With Jimmy G at the helm, San Francisco made it to the 2020 Super Bowl and reached the NFC Championship Game last season. But all good things come to an end, and so does Garoppolo’s time as starterin the Bay.

His future remains unclear, as there are not many teams looking for a starting quarterback at this point of the offseason. Either way, many are still surprised with the 49ers’ decision to start Lance over Garoppolo, including Hall of Fame QB Brett Favre.

Brett Favre believes 49ers are making a mistake by benching Jimmy Garoppolo

“My personal opinion, I would go with Jimmy Garoppolo,” Favre told The33rdteam.com. “He’s not as flashy, not near as flashy. He wasn’t their first-round pick. And no offense toward Trey Lance, but what Jimmy has done is win and win, win, win again. Not flashy. So, it’s not the glamorous pick, but my goodness, the guy has won and put the 49ers in a position to compete for the Super Bowl year in and year out and deserves the right to keep playing.

“There’s a tremendous upside with Trey; no question about it. But [Garoppolo] has been a proven winner. And that oftentimes gets overlooked — is a guy a winner? And Jimmy Garoppolo is definitely a winner.”

Favre may relate to what Garoppolo is going through, even though their situations weren’texactly the same. However, the Niners are convinced about their decision as they look sold on Lance. Only time will tell who was right.

The Green Bay Packers lost their best weapon in Davante Adams. But Davante Adams also lost a top-notch quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, and Brett Favre thinks he'll regret that.
Davante Adams didn’t want to stay with the Green Bay Packers any longer. He wanted to play with his college quarterbackDerek Carr again, and the Las Vegas Raiders didn’t hesitate to make him one of the highest-paid players in the league.

Needless to say, losing one of the best three wideouts in the league was a massive blow for the Packers. Adams had been Aaron Rodgers’ no.1 target for years and one of the most impactful offensive players in the NFL.

But even though the Packers will most definitely miss him and his status as a massive red zone threat, Brett Favre believes Adams will miss Rodgers and the Packers the most after this divorce.

NFL News: Brett Favre Says Davante Adams Will Miss Packers, Aaron Rodgers

“No disrespect to Davante at all — zero disrespect. I do think that Davante will make Derek Carr better and, in time, they will be a dynamic duo. Now, will it be the duo that Aaron and Davante had? Time will tell,” the legendary QB told TMZ Sports. “I think Derek Carr is a very good quarterback, but he’s not in Aaron’s league yet. He may never be, and that’s no disrespect either, but I do think that Davante owes a great deal of gratitude to Aaron and the Packers drafting him.”

“That’s not to say he’s not a great player because he is a tremendous player and we’ll see that with Las Vegas,” Favre added. “But it’s just hard to shift gears, especially from a player as prolific as Aaron Rodgers. I’d be shocked if he had the same year (this year) he’s had. That’s not to say he can’t do it, but I would be shocked.”

Packers Will Land On Their Feet Without Adams, Says Favre

The Packers added an intriguing talent in Christian Watson, signed Sammy Watkins, and draftedRomeo Doubs and Samori Toure. While neither of them is Davante Adams, Favre thinks they’ll be just fine:

“They’ll be OK,” Favre sentenced. “It’s hard to replace a great player like Davante Adams. It’s hard to replace Aaron Rodgers. You don’t replace those players. You plug someone and hope that the others take up the slack until that person finds their own way. Aaron’s too good. Much like Tom Brady has gone into every season and manage to systematically tear teams apart with whoever. It doesn’t matter. And that will be the case with Aaron.”

Rodgers has proven over and over that he doesn’t need to have a big-name wideout running routes for him. He’s a master of making the most of the hand he’s been given, so maybe Favre isn’t that far off with this take.

Before he became the star quarterback he is nowadays, Aaron Rodgers learned from one of thegreatest signal-callersof all time duringhis first years in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers.
Ryan Tannehill‘s comments aboutMalik Willis and his feeling that it’s not his’job’ to mentor him nor any other young quarterbacksparked a lot of controversy in the NFL. While many think that a veteran player should be a role model, others agree with the Titans signal-caller.

However, to see a rookie quarterback learn from anexperienced one is something usual in the league. If not, look at Aaron Rodgers, who learned from one of the all-time greatsbefore taking the reins of the Green Bay Packers.

At 37, Rodgers has already made a strong case to make theHall of Fame while cementinga legacy at Lambeau Field, where he plans to finish his career. Rodgers, whois now in the position to teach things to a younger quarterback like Jordan Love, has recently reflected on his years observingfranchise legend Brett Favre.

Aaron Rodgers looks backs on his years learning from Packers icon Brett Favre

“I was in his hip pocket all the time,” Rodgers said, via Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports. “I was standing behind him in the huddle sometimes, listening to what he was saying before the start of a period. I was sitting in meetings with him, [taking] a ton of notes. I was watching hours of film on Mondays and Tuesdays trying to give him a little advantage for the week if I saw something that might help him in a game.

“I would print out this reports every week. It had all the DB’s we were playing and the catches that were against them and the little things I saw on film. I always joked that he just toss them in the bin on the way out. But for me it was the best thing to learn to prepare for a game.”

At the end of the day, any young quarterback can use somehelp to make his first steps. Not all of them get the chance to learn froma legendlike Rodgers did, but those who can, should make the best out of it. Not playing may be hard for Love, but in the meantime, he should seize the opportunity of training with Rodgers every day.
