Entering his third NFL season, Keon Coleman has accepted that 2026 is a 'make or break' campaign for his future with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
Heading into a pivotal third year, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman isn’t shying away from the mounting pressure. The former second-round pick recently acknowledged the high stakes of the 2026 season, admitting it is a ‘make or break’ stretch for his career in Buffalo.

For many fans, the Bills have yet to fully live up to expectations. Despite having an elite talent like Josh Allen at quarterback, the club has been unable to capture ultimate postseason glory, and even GM Brandon Beane is upset about not reaching the Super Bowl yet.

While Allen has been an outstanding asset for the franchise, the weapons at his disposal have often fallen short of the elite standard set by the quarterback. Keon Coleman is well aware of this reality, openly admitting that the 2026 campaign could be his last in Buffalo if he fails to deliver better performances on the field.

“For me, it’s make or break,” Keon Coleman told reporters after Buffalo’s Tuesday OTA session, via ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg. “If you s—, you might not be here, simple as that. I know what I’m capable of. So, if I fall anything short of that, I’m doing myself a disservice and my team.”

The Bills have not taken advantage of recent opportunities

We heard from Keon Coleman today.

Said his play last season was "ass" & that this upcoming season is make or break for him. pic.twitter.com/MoxbrxLQ7z
— Matthew Bové (@Matt_Bove) May 19, 2026

Throughout his tenure in Buffalo, Josh Allen has faced heavy scrutiny for his inability to guide the team to a Super Bowl. Last season, he seemingly had a golden opportunity to make a deep run, yet the signal-caller and his squad failed to capitalize on the situation.

With Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson all missing from the postseason field in 2025, many fans believed the path to the Super Bowl was wide open for Allen. Instead, the Bills failed to live up to expectations, suffering a disappointing Divisional Round loss to the Denver Broncos.

This outcome has only intensified the pressure weighing on Allen. Even with the conference’s premier quarterbacks sidelined, he was unable to lead the Bills to a championship breakthrough, leaving many to wonder whether Buffalo can ever truly become the powerhouse fans believe they are.

The Bills’ key offseason addition that will impact Coleman

Hoping to remedy these offensive struggles, the Bills front office secured the services of a dynamic new weapon this offseason. Buffalo completed a major trade with the Chicago Bears to acquire wide receiver DJ Moore, landing a proven top target for Allen but directly altering the trajectory for Keon Coleman.

Following Moore’s arrival, the wide receiver depth chart has undergone a significant shift. Coleman now finds himself slotted as the WR4, sliding down a spot and making it even more challenging to carve out consistent targets in what is shaping up to be a decisive season for his future in Buffalo.

The NFL has reportedly assembled a spectacular Thanksgiving slate for the 2026 season featuring the Chiefs, Bills, Cowboys, Eagles, Rams, and Steelers.
The NFL appears ready to deliver one of the most spectacular Thanksgiving slates in league history for the 2026 season. Featuring powerhouse franchises like the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Super Bowl favorites such as the Los Angeles Rams, the holiday schedule is loaded with blockbuster matchups from start to finish.

The action will begin on Thanksgiving Eve when the Green Bay Packers travel to Los Angeles to face Matthew Stafford and the Rams in a high-profile primetime showdown. With the Rams once again viewed as serious championship contenders, the matchup immediately gives fans one of the biggest games of the entire week before Thanksgiving officially even begins.

Then comes a stacked Thanksgiving Day tripleheader. The Chicago Bears will visit the Detroit Lions in the traditional early game before the Dallas Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles in one of the NFL’s biggest rivalries. But the main event arrives at night when Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium in what could easily become one of the most anticipated games of the entire 2026 season.

NFL loaded Thanksgiving week with blockbuster matchups

As if the Thanksgiving schedule itself were not enough, the NFL also added another major matchup for Black Friday. The Pittsburgh Steelers, potentially led by Aaron Rodgers if he ultimately signs with the franchise, will host the Denver Broncos in another game possibly loaded with playoff implications and national attention.

The overall lineup reflects the NFL’s strategy of placing its biggest brands and most marketable stars in standalone windows during one of the most watched sports weekends of the year. Between Mahomes, Allen, Stafford, the Cowboys, Eagles, Steelers, and possibly Rodgers, the league managed to stack nearly every marquee attraction into a single holiday stretch.

On paper, this already looks like one of the strongest Thanksgiving football schedules the NFL has ever assembled. If the teams involved live up to expectations, the 2026 holiday slate could easily become one of the most memorable weekends of the entire season.

The Buffalo Bills signed OLB Mike Danna, a player who won two Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs, in order to improve the defense and help out Josh Allen.
Josh Allen is getting a new teammate, one with plenty of Super Bowl experience. The Buffalo Bills are signing two-time NFL champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, Mike Danna.

Reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the outside linebacker will now play for the Buffalo Bills on a one-year deal after visiting them last week. Danna is a very good player. While not racking up huge numbers, Danna was also reliable to make key plays for the Chiefs back in the day.

The Bills need that. Their pass-rush has been an issue for quite a while, and while Danna is unlikely to get 10+ sacks, he can get you 5-7 in key moments. The Bills hope that a better defense will take some pressure off of Josh Allen’s shoulders.

The Bills have tried many pass-rushers to no effect

Von Miller and Joey Bosa were huge names that the Bills brought in recent years to bolster their pass rush, and while not bad, they weren’t the difference-makers the Bills thought they could be.

Joey Bosa #97 of the Buffalo Bills

This year, they did the same thing again by signing Bradley Chubb to a three-year, $43.5 million deal. However, now they got Danna too, and recently-drafted TJ Parker out of Clemson. The Bills are hoping at least one of them becomes a threat to opposing quarterbacks.

The Bills have a solid roster to work with

Buffalo strengthened its main needs this offseason. As you can see, the pass-rush has been bolstered. However, Josh Allen also got a major upgrade in his receiving core, as the Bills brought DJ Moore to the team, a certified WR1.

They also used a second-rounder in corner Davison Igbinosun to improve their secondary. All in all, they addressed their main needs in hopes of providing Josh Allen with a roster capable of going to the Super Bowl.

After being released by the Kansas City Chiefs in February, two-time Super Bowl winner Mike Danna is visiting Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills.
The Buffalo Bills know Josh Allen is in charge of the offense. However, they are looking at a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Kansas City Chiefs to strengthen their defense. Hence, they are hosting Mike Danna to a visit.

According to Jeremy Fowler, this is the first reported visit since he was released by the Chiefs in February. Danna, who is 28 years old, had spent all his career in Kansas City prior to his release.

The Bills ranked 20th in sacks in 2025, so bringing an experienced, proven winner like Danna into the team will surely help on improving that statistic. The Bills need good depth in the defensive end position and Danna could fill that hole. Josh Allen could have more leeway on offense as well.

Danna’s career numbers are not as impressive, but he is a force

Danna has been in the NFL since 2020 and has racked up 21.5 sacks during that time. He was a regular starter for the Chiefs since 2023, but given the fact that they’ve restructured their defensive line, Danna was a needed release.

Mike Danna already has a pick. Now he has a sack 😤

WASvsKC on ESPN/ABC
Stream on @NFLPlus and ESPN App pic.twitter.com/YsIlKMeKSd
— NFL (@NFL) October 28, 2025

The Bills could definitely take advantage of that. Danna just had one sack last season, but it was a down year for basically all of the Chiefs team. That could help the Bills though, as they could sign him with a discount, and then see him flourish once again.

The Bills defensive line has great upside

The Bills use a 3-4 base formation. The Bills just brought Jim Leonhard as their new defensive coordinator. He is coming from the Denver Broncos, so he is likely to use a very aggressive pass rush without much blitz.

DE – TJ Sanders (this is where Danna could fit)

NT – Deone Walker

DT – Ed Oliver

LOLB – Greg Rousseau

WLB – Dorian Williams

MLB – Terrel Bernard

ROLB – Bradley Chubb

Brandon Beane, the general manager of the Buffalo Bills, still has the lingering frustration of not having been able to reach a Super Bowl with his team.
Since his arrival in Orchard Park in 2017, Brandon Beane has led his team to the playoffs in 8 of his 9 seasons as general manager. However, the frustration of not having reached a Super Bowl still remains, and he is determined to end that drought as soon as possible with the Buffalo Bills.

“Listen, no one’s more angry that we haven’t got it done at myself than me,” Beane said in a recent interview with Tyler Dunne of GoLongTD.com. “And I’ll always be that way. I don’t need outside motivation. I don’t need that. If we go in there right now and we play ping-pong, I’m going to try and whip your (expletive). And if you beat me, I’m going to try and figure out what you did and how you beat me.

“And I’m going to tell you to get your (expletive) back over here soon and we’re going to come back at it until I can beat you. And so as long as Terry Pegula and the Pegula family allows me to do this job, that’s what it’s going to be.”

Beane, who was recently given an expanded role in January 2026 by being named President of Football Operations as well, has helped turn the Buffalo Bills into a consistent contender in the AFC East in recent years. The big question remains: can this be the year they finally break through and reach their first long-awaited Super Bowl?

The Beane era as GM

Since Brandon Beane took the helm back in 2017, the Buffalo Bills have undergone a remarkable transformation into a perennial powerhouse. Under his leadership, the team secured four consecutive AFC East titles from 2020 to 2023 and reached the AFC Championship Game in the 2020 season.

His tenure has been defined by consistent postseason appearances and a top-tier winning percentage, solidifying Buffalo as one of the most elite and stable organizations in the NFL.

Season, Record (W-L)

AFC East Finish

Playoff Result

2017, 9–7

2nd

Wild Card Round (L vs. Jaguars)

2018, 6–10

3rd

Missed Playoffs

2019, 10–6

2nd

Wild Card Round (L vs. Texans)

2020, 13–3

1st

AFC Championship Game (L vs. Chiefs)

2021, 11–6

1st

Divisional Round (L vs. Chiefs)

2022, 13–3

1st

Divisional Round (L vs. Bengals)

2023, 11–6

1st

Divisional Round (L vs. Chiefs)

2024, 13-4

1st

AFC Championship Game (L vs. Chiefs)

2025, 12–5

2nd

Divisional Round (L vs. Broncos)

Airs of change in the Bills

Following the conclusion of the 2025 season, the Buffalo Bills made a bold change at the helm by parting ways with Sean McDermott after nine seasons and promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach in January 2026. This transition marks a significant shift in the organization’s philosophy, moving toward a more offensive-minded “CEO-style” leadership focused on maximizing Josh Allen‘s prime years.

In this way, the Bills have entered a new era characterized by a fresh vision and a modernized coaching staff, aiming to finally overcome their postseason hurdles and secure a Super Bowl title.

The Buffalo Bills are betting on Keon Coleman to be one of the team’s standout players in the upcoming 2026 NFL season.
Keon Coleman’s name came up in several places during discussions about a potential trade, especially with the 2026 NFL Draft recently taking place. Even so, Brandon Beane made it clear that while there were calls, the intention is for the player to have a big year with the Buffalo Bills.

“We had some people connect with us in Indy, at least one team there, and a couple between there and the owners meetings. But we shut those down,” Beane said Monday during an appearance on WGR-550, via ESPN.

He also added: “Our intention is for Keon to be here, and so I think the word was kind of out. So, no calls this weekend… We’ve hit the reset button with him, and hopefully the fan base and everyone’s behind him. I think his best year is yet to come here in 2026.“

The trust of Brady in Keon Coleman

With the dawn of the Joe Brady era in Buffalo, Keon Coleman has found a vital ally in his quest for redemption following the departure of Sean McDermott. Despite the outside noise and a disappointing sophomore slump, Brady has publicly reinforced his commitment to the young receiver, stating that his promotion to head coach is the best possible outcome for Coleman’s development.

Keon Coleman #0 of the Buffalo Bills.

The receiver will look in this new stage to improve his last season: 38 receptions, 404 yards, and just 4 touchdowns. In addition, it will be crucial for him to improve his discipline so that the Bills‘ offense can function to perfection.

What is the contract situation of Coleman?

Keon Coleman enters the 2026 season in the third year of his four-year, $10.07 million rookie contract, which includes approximately $9.64 million in total guarantees. The WR remains a cost-effective asset for Buffalo, carrying a modest $2.75 million cap hit for the upcoming season, but he is widely considered to be on a “prove-it” trajectory to secure his long-term future with the franchise.

The Buffalo Bills will head into the upcoming 2026 NFL season once again with Josh Allen as the team’s main star.
Josh Allen is eagerly awaiting the 2026 NFL season, one in which he hopes to finally reach the top. Now fully recovered from his foot injury, the arrival of his newborn child with his partner has given the Buffalo Bills quarterback new motivation as he prepares to face the year with a different mindset.

“I think it definitely changes the mindset a little bit. I am very excited,” Allen said, via the team’s website. “I do think this is going to be the best version of myself in all aspects in my professional career and my personal life.

“That ‘want to win’ will never change. The ‘why I want to do it’ has. So why I want to do it and to show my family, to show my daughter how hard you need to work in order to accomplish something so great. And as long as I play this game, that’s going to be my mindset.”

Allen wants to remove a big thorn from his side

Josh Allen enters the 2026 season with the singular goal of reaching his first Super Bowl, following another dominant but ultimately heartbreaking campaign. In 2025, Allen maintained his status as an elite “touchdown machine,” recording 3,668 passing yards with 25 touchdowns through the air, while remaining a lethal threat on the ground with 14 rushing scores.

Josh Allen #17 of the Buffalo Bills.

Despite leading the Buffalo Bills to a 12–5 record and a Wild Card victory over the Jaguars, their postseason run ended in the Divisional Round with a devastating 33–30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos. With a career total of 29 playoff passing touchdowns and high efficiency, Allen’s primary challenge remains overcoming these late-game hurdles to finally secure a spot on the NFL’s biggest stage.

Buffalo has its star back from injury

Shortly before the end of last season, Allen suffered a foot injury that forced him to play at less than full strength. Now recovered, the quarterback has progressed through his rehabilitation and is participating in OTAs without restrictions.

“It feels really good right now. I don’t feel like I have any limitations,” he said. “A little piece of bone just kind of broke off and was floating there so they just went in, took it out, kind of like a small rock. They literally just cut it out, left it on the table and sewed it back up, and scar tissue will form around it.”

The Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants have more competition for KC Concepcion, as the Buffalo Bills are hosting him to a visit.
KC Concepcion is one of the best names in the wide receiver department ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. The New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns are interested in him, but now, the Buffalo Bills are entering the wideout sweepstakes.

It was reported that the Browns joined the Giants in the Concepcion sweepstakes. Now, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Concepcion is visiting the Bills, who are in desperate need to fill the roster with weapons for Josh Allen.

The Bills have previously been intrigued by Concepcion, but then the rumors watered down after trading for DJ Moore. However, it seems the interested has reignited. Concepcion would be a great fit for the Bills.

KC Concepcion’s fit with the Bills

To the dismay of the Browns and the Giants, Concepcion is a great fit to be Josh Allen’s teammate. The reason? Concepcion is a dynamic playmaker and a yards-after-catch machine. He is also a versatile wideout that can line up in the slot or elsewhere.

I have KC Concepcion ranked ahead of Makai Lemon.

Concepcion also knows how to create separation, something Josh Allen would definitely welcome, as he needs weapons that can provide him wide looks. Being open goes a long way. Plus, he is from Rochester, New York, which is just 60 miles away from Buffalo.

Concepcion’s draft projection competes with plenty of others

KC Concepcion is projected to go in the late-first-to-early-second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. This puts him in competition with other great wideouts like Jordyn Tyson, Denzel Boston, and Omar Cooper Jr. Teams have plenty of ways to go. They are all below Carnell Tate and Makai Lemon.

The New York Giants are drawing much interest after Dexter Lawrence asked for a trade, and it seems the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears could lead the charge to acquire him.
Dexter Lawrence has requested a trade out of the New York Giants, and it changes everything heading to the 2026 NFL Draft. Now, the ball is in New York’s court to entertain trade offers for the star nose tackle. According to a report from Easton Butler, teams such as the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Green Bay Packers have already knocked on Joe Schoen’s door.

While not compelled to trade Lawrence, New York may find it best to move on from its star defensive lineman rather than drag out the drama and risk tension inside the locker room. If that’s the case, a report indicates the Giants have established their asking price for Lawrence to the rest of the NFL. As a result, the Bills and Bears may have a significant advantage over the Packers and Jaguars.

The Giants are reportedly asking for a late first-round or second-round 2026 selection in return for Lawrence. Chicago and Buffalo both have late first-round picks (25th and 26th overall picks, respectively) for the upcoming NFL Draft, whereas Green Bay and Jacksonville have both traded their first-rounders (20th and 24th overall, respectively).

The Packers and Jags could always make a trade to get back into the first round of the draft, but the odds of them making a move for a first-rounder only to send it to the Giants are slim. Thus, the Bills and Bears could be in pole position to make a trade for Lawrence happen. Both teams could really use a powerful nose tackle, and “Sexy Dexy” may be the best option out there, even as he comes off a down year in East Rutherford.

Dexter Lawrence makes his signature “Sexy Dexy” dance

If it comes down to a second-round pick

In case the Giants settle for a second-round pick in a move involving Lawrence II, then the Bills could be in trouble. Buffalo traded its second-rounder (60th overall) to none other than Chicago, that has two picks in the second round (57th and 60th overall).

As for the Jaguars and Packers, they could tilt the scale in their favor thanks to their second-rounders. Still, it seems Jacksonville (56th) and Green Bay (52nd) would have to give up something more to come away with Lawrence. Especially if Chicago is in the mix, and is serious about bolstering its defense that recorded just 35 sacks last season—tied for fifth-least in the NFL.

Lawrence’s stats in 2025

Coming off a career year in 2024, Lawrence seemed to be missing a gear in the 2025 NFL season. He followed his career-high 9-sack campaign in 2024 with a measly 0.5 sacks the following year. Considering Lawrence missed five games in 2024 and didn’t miss a single outing in 2025, his low production definitely raised concerns in New York.

Now, he is looking for a fresh start elsewhere. Lawrence isn’t interested in seeing what John Harbaugh can make happen in the Big Apple. Whether the feeling is reciprocal or not remains to be seen. One thing is clear, though: the Giants won’t give Lawrence away. If New York trades him, it won’t be for peanuts.

The Buffalo Bills have named Joe Brady the team's new head coach, but he admits he isn't entirely comfortable with Josh Allen shifting to calling him "coach."
A new era has begun for the Buffalo Bills. While Joe Brady has officially taken over as head coach, he has admitted to some unease regarding how the new hierarchy has altered his relationship with Josh Allen.

Earlier this year, the Bills decided to part ways with Sean McDermott following a disappointing Divisional Round exit. After an extensive search, the organization determined the best candidate was already in-house, elevating Brady from offensive coordinator to head coach on January 27.

While Brady is thrilled to lead the franchise, the transition has been somewhat surreal. He recently revealed that Josh Allen has shifted to calling him “Coach” instead of “Joe”—a formal change that Brady admits feels “bizarre” and is taking some time to get used to.

“Honestly, the hardest thing is — it’s driving me crazy — him calling me ‘coach,’” head coach Joe Brady said, via Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News. “I hate that.”

A massive opportunity for Joe Brady

The Bills remain perennial Super Bowl contenders, and with Brady at the helm, the team is expected to adopt an even more aggressive, offensive-minded philosophy. Brady’s familiarity with the roster is a significant advantage, and the team’s recent offseason additions—most notably DJ Moore—are expected to further elevate the unit.

Crucially, the relationship between Brady and Allen remains the foundation of the team’s success. The two have been “attached at the hip” since 2022, and maintaining that strong bond will be vital as they navigate the pressure of a “championship or bust” 2026 season.

As of today, expectations are sky-high in Western New York. If the Bills fail to reach the Super Bowl this year, the “bust” narrative will likely return to haunt Buffalo, intensifying the pressure on both the new head coach and his star quarterback.
