Webber, who has long been vocal about his aversion to Hollywood culture, shared his thoughts on the Straight Game podcast, suggesting that Doncic may have to adjust to the LA spotlight.

“Some players, like myself, we were anti-Hollywood. You know what I mean? We didn’t want to be Hollywood,” Webber said. “We wanted to come in, shut it down, and have y’all walk out of here quiet. It seemed like that’s who Luka was, and now he has to like LA. So, I’m interested in how he’s going to make that work.”

From Lakers villain to fan favorite?

Ironically, Doncic used to relish silencing the Crypto.com Arena crowd during his time in Dallas. He won three of his last four road games against the Lakers and had developed a reputation as something of a nemesis. But in a stunning move, the Mavericks traded him to the very team he once tormented.

That change in scenery may have contributed to Doncic rediscovering his best NBA form after a slow start in LA. He is now averaging 24.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game, quickly establishing himself as a fan favorite.

Settling into life in LA

Comfort off the court often translates to confidence on it, and it appears Doncic is finding his rhythm in Los Angeles. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the 25-year-old has embraced his new surroundings.

“He’s feeling more and more comfortable with every passing day. He just moved into his new place in Los Angeles a few days ago,” Charania reported. “The most important part for Luka Doncic has been what he’s told people around him, as well as Lakers owner Jeanie Buss—that he feels truly appreciated and included in the team’s decision-making process.”

Charania added that the Lakers are hoping Doncic will be a cornerstone of the franchise for years to come. “This has been a true partnership they’re trying to build, and that means a lot for his long-term future with the Lakers. They believe he can be a key figure in the next decade of Lakers-Celtics rivalry games.”

Webber’s basketball skills haven’t exactly translated to the booth. He’s been an NBA analyst and commentator since retiring from the league in 2008 but he’s far from being a fan favorite and that’s not likely to change any time soon.

The big man has become infamous for constantly drifting, mixing names, words, phrases, and talking non-stop every time he’s called to broadcast a game. It’s reached a point where he’s constantly a trending-topic at Twitter.

Needless to say, the Game 4 clash between the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers had plenty of viewers from all over the world but apparently, none of them enjoyed Chris Webber’s input about the game.

The former Sacramento King was back at his usual antics and exasperating digress. He couldn’t keep his never-ending stories and unusual catch-phrasesto himself and NBA Twitter lost it. Some even claimed that they would rather watch the game in mute instead of listening to C-Webb for another second.

He started talking about LeBron James being a black man, he can’t compartmentalize butmust compartmentalize after knocking down a deep three-pointer. No one truly understood what he wanted to say, as per usual. That’s when most people just couldn’t stand it anymore and started mocking Webber.

Ok, we get it, it’s impossible to please everybody in the show business, especially when it comes to sports. But NBA Twitter’s despise for Chris Webber is reaching all-time highs every time he’s in charge of a game. The internet is merciless and once again, undefeated.
