Some people claimed that the Patriots’ success was all due to Belichick and went as far as to say that Tom Brady was a ‘system quarterback’. Now, on his first year without Belichick, Brady is back to the Super Bowl, while the Patriots didn’t even make the playoffs.

Needless to say, this season has shifted the narrative back in Brady’s favor. Moreover, former Patriots players have been quite outspoken on who was the man responsible for their success.

Danny Amendola Says The PatriotWay Is Tom Brady’s Way

After Rob Gronkowski said that he couldn’t be himself with the Patriots and Tom Brady’s wife Gisele Bundchen said the Belichick didn’t respect him, now Danny Amendola said that ‘The Patriot way is the Brady way’:

“When you see ‘Patriot Way’ in the dictionary, it’s going to have Tom Brady’s pic next to it. None of those coaches threw any passes. None of those coaches caught any passes. None of those coaches made any tackles. They got guys in the right position because they watch a lot of film and they spend all their time at the facility. But Tom Brady is the Patriot Way, and that’s the reason why Tom Brady’s in the Super Bowl right now and the Patriots aren’t,” Amendola told First Things First.

Amendola Says Playing For Bill Belichick Is Tough

The two-time Super Bowl champion added that Bill Belichick’s personality and leadership style can be challenging at times but added that he respected his coachbecause it made the team better:

“It’s not easy, that’s for sure. He’s an a**hole sometimes. There were a lot of things I didn’t like about playing for him, but I must say, the things I didn’t like were all in regards to getting the team better, and I respected him,” Amendola concluded.

Well, it wouldn’t be fair to take anything away from Belichick and all the things he’s accomplished throughout his career in the league. Then again, he could’ve handled his stars better.
