The New York Jets hope their offense looks ready to roll by bringing Frank Reich as the new offensive coordinator, and one star on the roster wants protagonism.
The New York Jets haven’t had a prolific offense in ages, but with Frank Reich coming in as the new offensive coordinator, the hope is they can finally get a great attack. At the very least, one star on the team wants the ball to be fed to him constantly.

Breece Hall is one of the best players on the Jets. He is an excellent running back, and while his future is not set in stone, he wants the ball. Facing a potential transition or franchise tag from the Jets, Breece Hall is keeping it cool. On Saturday, the star back adopted a “whatever happens, happens” mindset regarding his future. The tag would lock him in for a fifth season with the team.

As for what he wants, “I feel like my play speaks for itself, considering the situations I’ve been in the last few years. I’m going to get everything that’s coming to me, so I’m not too worried about it.” Hall wants the ball, whether it’s on Frank Reich‘s scheme or elsewhere.

Breece Hall is so good, suitors will come

With rumors of the Kansas City Chiefs looking to make a big splash for Breece Hall, the Jets are under pressure and need to make a decision. A talent like Hall will get plenty of looks. Hall is very talented, very versatile, and an overall weapon any offense would like to have.

Breece Hall #20 of the New York Jets

Hall had more than 1,000 yards rushing and a total 1,415 scrimmage yards with five touchdowns. Hall averaged 4.4 yards per attempt as well. This is the first time Hall overcomes the 1,000-yard treshold in the rushing department. However, it was also career-low in total touchdowns. Still, it’s the Jets offense that struggled as a unit more than Hall himself.

How did RBs fare with Frank Reich?

Reich was the OC on the then-San Diego Chargers in 2014, and he didn’t have the best running backs to work with. Branden Oliver, Ryan Matthews, and Donald Brown won’t cut it for a team. In 2015, he got rookie Melvin Gordon and while not amazing, Gordon did have 833 total yards, though he didn’t score a single TD.

On the Eagles, he had LeGarette Blount in the Super Bowl-winning season. One year prior, he had Matthews again, and Darren Sproles. None got to 1,000 yards. His first 1,000-yard RB was Marlon Mack in the Colts, and that’s in the total scrimmage yards department.

Mack then had another 1,000 yard season, this time rushing. In the 2020 season, Jonathan Taylor arrived and immediately got 1,000 yards. The highlight was in 2021, where Taylor led the NFL in rushes, rush yards, rushing TDs, and earned All Pro honors.

The New York Jets are trying to provide head coach Aaron Glenn a new offensive coordinator and are eyeing a former Super Bowl champion as a possible option.
There’s a lot of things coming to the New York Jets. However, one of the most important aspects of the game is having a complete coaching staff. Aaron Glenn has an opening someone else to call plays as the offensive coordinator. A former Super Bowl champion might be the one arriving to the team’s facility.

According to the team’s website, the Jets interviewed Frank Reich for the offensive coordinator vacancy. Reich won the Super Bowl as the Eagles offensive coordinator in 2017. He was then the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers, before going to Stanford, where he served as interim head coach and then as a senior advisor.

Reich is known as a great offensive mind in the business. Head coach Aaron Glenn relieved Tanner Engstrand from his offensive coordinator role after just one season, where the former Detroit Lions passing game coordinator failed to deliver. The Jets offense ranked 29th in total yards, dead-last in passing yards, and 29th in scoring.

Reich has the resume, but is still a risky move

The last time we saw Frank Reich in the NFL, he was being fired after 11 games by Carolina, in which his team went 1-10. This is the fourth shortest head coach stint in NFL history (not interims taken into consideration). After that, it’s been three years since he hasn’t been in the league and that might be troublesome.

Head coach Frank Reich of the Stanford Cardinal

Reich is 64 years old and this league has evolved. While no one will deny he knows plenty of football and his offensive playcalling has been above average, there’s no guarantee he will be able to do so after years away from the league. The concerns could increase given that the Jets roster is not stacked by any means.

The Jets don’t even know how they’ll look in 2026

Many players will be out of contract with the Jets in 2026, but not only that, there is some real concern on the quarterback position. Justin Fields has a contract for next year but he might not be seen as the solution. In fact, he was benched by Tyrod Taylor at a point this season.

Hence, Reich, or any of the other interviewees (former Chargers OC Greg Roman, Dolphins quarterbacks coach Darrell Bevell, Bills quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry, and Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells), won’t have any certainties coming into the season. Needless to say, it’s a tough job to accept, since the situation is an uphill battle.

Who are the highest paid sports coaches in the United States? This list breaks down who earns the big bucks in the sports world in the United States.
For every star player there is a great coach that guides themand puts together a roster that helps excel that player and theirteammates. Coaches are important for many reasons, they are leaders, father figures, and in this day and age even a psychologist.

Sportico published the 25 highest paid sports coaches in the United States and a few things stood out. For example, there is not one coach from the MLS, MLB, or NHL. NCAA coaches make an incredible amount of money, and the NFL clearly likes to write big checks.

The NBA has some names on the list and while the NFL dominates the number of highest paid coaches, if they truly deserve their salary is a subject for another day. Here are the 25 top paid coaches in American sports.

25. Steve Nash – $8 Million

Steve Nash (Photo by Ron Jenkins/Getty Images)

The now Brooklyn Nets coach got to the Eastern conference semifinals with the Nets in his first year at the helm. In 2020/21 Steve Nash had a .667 winning percentage, not bad for a first timer. Nash earns a substantial amount of money for a coach with all of one year’s experience, $8 million.

24. Nick Nurse – $8 Million

Nick Nurse (Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images)

Now in his 4thyear as Toronto Raptors coach, Nick Nurse earns $8 million a year. Nurse won the NBA title in 2019, but last season the Raptors did not make the postseason. Nurse has coached since 1989 and been an assistant and head coach in several countries.

23. Mike Budenholzer – $8 Million

Mike Budenholzer (Photo by John Fisher/Getty Images)

The current NBA champion head coach Mike Budenholzer comes in at $8 million a season, Budenholzer has been at the helm of the Bucks for fourseasons now with a championship season last year to go along two other very promising seasons.

22. Bruce Arians – $8 Million

Bruce Arians (Photo by Todd Kirkland/Getty Images)

Bruce Arians is the first NFL coach on the list coming in at $8 million a season, all Arians has done was win the Super Bowl last season and get the best out of Tom Brady at what many consider the tail end of his career.

21. Sean McVay – $8.5 Million

Sean McVay (Photo by Jayne Kamin-Oncea/Getty Images)

Sean McVay is the coach of the Los Angeles Rams and in his 5 seasons with the Rams he got to the Super Bowl 1 time and holds a .675 winning percentage. McVay was the AP NFL Coach of the Year in 2017.

20. Sean McDermott – $8.5 Million

Sean McDermott (Photo by Bryan M. Bennett/Getty Images)

There is nothing small market about the Bills if they can shell out $8.5 million on their coach. Sean McDermott has been with the Buffalo Bills for 5 seasons now and has alternated good seasons with some less than impressive ones.

19. Ron Rivera – $8.5 Million

Ron Rivera (Photo by Chris Unger/Getty Images)

Ron Rivera is at $8.5 million and has been coaching in the NFL since 2011, his biggest claim to fame is taking the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl, losing to the Broncos in Super Bowl 50. Since then, it’s been pretty mediocre, Rivera has a less than .500 winning percentage at Washington.

18. Erik Spoelstra – $8.5 Million

Erik Spoelstra (Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)

Erik Spoelstra is an institution at the Miami Heat, being a part of the coaching staff since 1997 and taking over since 2008. Spoelstra paid back the organization with 2 NBA titles and 5 Eastern conference crowns.

17. Doc Rivers – $8.5 Million

Doc Rivers (Photo by Jared C. Tilton/Getty Images)

Doc Rivers is a veteran NBA coach and is currently at the helm of the Philadelphia 76ers. Rivers won an NBA title in 2008 and today wants to take the Sixers to the promise land. Dealing with Ben Simmons makes Rivers earn his pay that’s for sure.

16. Matt Rhule – $8.6 Million

Matt Rhule (Photo by Cliff Hawkins/Getty Images)

The NFL can be generous, it’s the only way to explain that Matt Rhule earns more than Bruce Arians, a very good coach in college Rhule has found life in the NFL hard coaching the Carolina Panthers.

15. John Calipari – $8.6 Million

John Calipari (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

John Calipari is the first NCAA coach to be on the list, at $8.6 million a season it raises the debate of the money involved in college sports. Calipari coaches the Kentucky Wildcats since 2009.

14. Urban Meyer – $9 Million

Urban Meyer (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

Urban Meyer, coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL was a big-time college coach in the NCAA but in the NFL, he is on thin ice. Meyer makes a salary that is not indicative of the results, his first year in the NFL has been a mess.

13. John Harbaugh – $9 Million

John Harbaugh (Photo by Joe Sargent/Getty Images)

Winning a Super Bowl upgrades anyone’s pay day and John Harbaugh did just that winning the big one with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012. Harbaugh has had an exceptional record with the Ravens after paying his dues as an assistant.

12. Frank Reich – $9 Million

Frank Reich (Photo by Justin Casterline/Getty Images)
