After taking a gruesome hit to his right knee, Overshown suffered a torn ACL and PCL, as well as ripping his PCL off the bone. Per ESPN, only his LCL remained attached.

Overshown came back after an 11-month absence in November 2025 and appeared in six games last season. So far in his career, Overshown has recorded 118 total tackles (71 solo), 5 sacks, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception, and even a touchdown. His four-year rookie contract will come to an end after the 2026 season.

The fact that he’s only played 19 games in his three-year career is discouraging for the Cowboys, and it might be the main reason for a potential new chapter between Jones and Mulugheta.
