Jon Jones seems retired, but he set the record straight on why he is not fighting Alex Pereira at the UFC White House event.
The relationship between Jon Jones and the UFC has been a rocky-yet-fruitful one. The MMA G.O.A.T is recently retired, but he was willing to fight Alex Pereira on the UFC White House event for the heavyweight title. However, that didn’t came to be, and the former champ has stated his side of the story.

Jones posted on X, saying he “was ready, willing and physically able to step in. I was willing to take substantially less than the Aspinall ask but they [UFC] wouldn’t budge one dollar over $15m. I felt like our fight was worth more.”

It was reported that Jones asked for $30 million to fight Aspinall, and he even declared he would fight Pereira for less. Still, he felt the UFC cutting the check by 50% was not enough. Apparently, the organization wasn’t eager to negotiate either.

Dana White has sent shots to Jones as well

Dana White has always said Jones is the greatest of all time, but he’s always been clear on one thing: they don’t have the best relationship. A couple of weeks ago, White was asked about Jones’ presence on the White House event and he said “Jon can barely run. Jon Jones retired because of his hips. He’s got arthritis in his hips.”

was ready, willing and physically able to step in.

White rejected the idea of even negotiating with Jones, to which Jones said, “So all of this negotiating was complete bulls—, is that what you want me to agree to publicly? Man, how f—— painful. Laying in my bed, wrapping my head around this perception.”

Pereira will fight on UFC White House

While Jones’ efforts proved ineffective, Pereira will indeed move to heavyweight and fight Ciryl Gane for the interim Heavyweight title. Pereira is going for an unprecedented record of becoming champion in three different categories. This is the UFC White House card:

Ilia Topuria vs Justin Gaethje – Lightweight title

Alex Pereira vs Ciryl Gane – Interim Heavyweight title

Sean O’Malley vs Aiemann Zahabi – Bantamweight fight

Mauricio Ruffy vs Michael Chandler – Lightweight fight

Bo Nickal vs Kyle Daukaus – Middleweight fight

Diego Lopes vs Steve Garcia – Featherweight fight

Jon Jones recently retired from the UFC but after Dana White announced there was going to be an event at the White House, he re-entered the testing pool and hinted at a return. Now the UFC president has given an update on that situation. <div class="wp_fsn_relatedlinks" use="SEO" link="https://bolavip.com/en/sports/dana-white-reveals-max-holloways-possible-next-move-after-ufc-318-win-over-dustin-poirier" image="https://ds-images.bolavip.com/news/image?src=https%3A%2F%2Fimages.bolavip.com%2Fwebp%2Fen%2Ffull%2FBUS_20250720_BUS_444535_max-holloway-ufc-318.webp&width=200&height=200" excerpt="Following his massive win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 318, Max Holloway puts himself in a prime position to be very relevant in the lightweight division.

Following UFC 318, Dana White, as per usual, approached the media during the post-fight press conference. In there, one of the trending topics in the MMA world, the UFC White House event was discussed. Among the subtopics, the UFC president was asked about the return of Jon Jones to the testing pool and the fact that the fighter said he wants to be on the card.

White, who has publicly said he considers Jones the greatest of all time, has also stated his relationship with Jones is complicated. This all came to a climax after the UFC tried to pin him against top contender Tom Aspinall for months, only for Jones to stall the matter and then retire.

Now, when asked about the possibility of Jones headlining the White House, Dana was clear on his thoughts. “I can’t risk putting Jones in big positions, in a big spot, and have something go wrong… especially the White House card.” After years of dealing with an extremely talented, yet complicated athlete, it seems like White is ready to sacrifice a household name in order to have a smooth buildup to the biggest event in MMA history.

White is promising the best, biggest card of all time

White is no stranger to deliver big promises. However, he fulfills those big claims most of the time. Whether it was UFC 300, the Sphere or Fight Island, he is determined to make history in a consistent basis. White said the White House event will be the biggest and baddest card the UFC will ever assemble.

Dana White, president of the UFC

This means you can expect huge names from the early prelims to the main event. Most of UFC’s big stars have already raised their hands volunteering for the event. However, the shaping of the event is intriguing. In the end, there is only one American champion in the promotion right now, Kayla Harrison.

The UFC has big projects in the near future

Of course, the White House will be the main focus of the UFC until the event is settled. However, there are plenty of other intriguing plans in store for MMA’s biggest promotion.

Having Ilia Topuria has opened the way to have a stadium event in Spain. Also, Dana White has stated his desire to go to Africa and keep stomping barriers in the sport. The UFC is a juggernaut and it will keep growing as long as White stays as president.

The future of the UFC heavyweight champion is on the line as Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall prepare for a historic showdown, with Jake Paul entering the conversation with a bold proposal.
The highly anticipated UFC heavyweight unification fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall is generating massive excitement in the MMA world. However, contract negotiations with Jones may pose a significant obstacle to the fight taking place, and controversial figure Jake Paul has made an unexpected proposal following his recent bout against Mike Tyson.

Jon Jones, the reigning UFC heavyweight champion, has made it clear that he expects historic compensation for his upcoming fight. The fighter has stated his desire to be paid in such a way that the financial outcome outweighs the significance of the actual match result.

This stance has ignited intense debate regarding Jones’ market value and his place in MMA history. Amid the growing speculation, controversial boxer Jake Paul has inserted himself into the conversation, proposing a significant financial offer for Jones.

What Is Jake Paul’s Proposal for Jon Jones?

Jake Paul took to “X” (formerly Twitter) to suggest that Jones should receive a $50 million guarantee, in addition to a percentage of the pay-per-view (PPV) revenue above a certain threshold.

Jon Jones is asked how much he wants to get paid to fight Tom Aspinall:

“A very, very high number… I want to be compensated to the point where if I won or lost, that it really wouldn’t matter.”#UFC #MMA #UFC309 pic.twitter.com/NXSUxN9CyN
— Championship Rounds (@ChampRDS) November 17, 2024

“Did my math. Understand their hope to have Jon Jones lose so they can create the next man. So…” Paul wrote. “Bones should be getting a $50M guarantee for that fight. And $10 for every PPV buy above 600K.”

<div class="wp_fsn_relatedlinks" use="ALSO" link="https://bolavip.com/en/boxing/ufc-president-delivers-strong-warning-to-jake-paul-on-possibility-of-canelo-alvarez-fight" image="https://ds-images.bolavip.com/news/image?src=https%3A%2F%2Fimages.bolavip.com%2Fwebp%2Fen%2Ffull%2FBUS_20241126_BUS_280410_Canelo-Alvarez-3.webp&width=200&height=200" excerpt="The controversy continues to grow over a potential matchup between Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez, and the UFC President has weighed in on the fight.

According to Paul, this offer is more than fair given the significance of the fight and the potential impact it would have on Jones’ career. “If they offer that to Jon, it’s fair. He should take it,” said Paul on his social media.

Dana White’s Vision for the Fight

Dana White, president of the UFC, has confirmed that the fight between Jones and Aspinall is a priority for the company and that it will take place in 2025. The challenge, however, will be to reach a deal with Jones that meets his compensation demands.

“100 percent [it’s a priority],” White spoke about the plans to make the Jones vs. Aspinall fight happen in 2025. “I think it’s probably the biggest fight in heavyweight history, and it’s a massive fight in the history of the company, too. It’s a big fight.”

Jones vs. Aspinall: A High-Risk Fight

The fight between Jones and Aspinall has the potential to be one of the most important in UFC history. However, contract negotiations could put the fight at risk. MMA fans hope that both parties can reach an agreement, and that this highly anticipated showdown will take place as planned.

The UFC will have the return of one of its biggest stars tonight and a lot of people will be watching. But a legend that will also be in attendance is Tom Brady. Check out what the quarterback said about Jon Jones ahead of UFC 285.
The NFL season is now over. For Tom Brady, his career in the sport is what also ended when he posted a video on social media announcing his retirement. Some may still want to wait before they believe it, although the former quarterback will now be enjoying the fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.

The UFC will have probably the event of the year. It’s going to be a card full of thrilling matchups. The women’s flyweight title bout of the reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko against the Mexican Alexa Grasso will be just one of them.

Brady has been rumored to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders. The connection was supposedly made by UFC president Dana White, so it makes sense he will be there. Here is what the seven-time Super Bowl champion said.

What did Tom Brady say about Jon Jones?

The future Hall of Famer shared a video on Instagram choosing his favorite. This heaviwhight title fight will have Jones and Gane as the stars, but he directed his message to one of the best fighters in the history.

“I wanted to say welcome back to the main stage. It’s great to see the GOAT doing what he does best and doing what he’s meant to do. So I thought seven titles was a lot — You doubled it, man. I know tonight’s not gonna be easy, Ciryl Gane’s standing on the other side of that Octagon. He’s a bad man. It’s gonna be an incredible fight. Dana knows how to put on a great show as always, and I wouldn’t miss this one for the world. I’m gonna be there watching. Good luck to both of you guys tonight, and Jon, congrats on an amazing career of greatness. Let’s f… go!”.

But here, we’ll try to rank the best 25.

For our ranking we considered differentfactors, includingthe fighters’ competition, accomplishments, and how good they really were in their prime. Those with titles in multiple divisions and morefightsunder their belts also have the upper handon this list.

Some fighters on the list may be wellpast their primebut we are mostly focused on the skill, wins, and competitionwhen they were at their best. Let’s go ahead and take a look at the top 25 greatest MMA fighters of all time!

25. Valentina Shevchenko
