“I am not saying that Milwaukee is beating down the doors to get Julius Randle, but that is the kind of star who could work well with a player with Randle’s skill.”The executive would tell Deveney that Randle “could be easier to move” now that he’s seemingly put his inefficient 2021-22 campaign behind him and stated that the Knicks big would “fit (in well) with a team that has multiple options” such as Milwaukee.

Also, it would be the smartest move for the Bucks as they have missed Khris Middleton during this regular season. Althoughhe’s trying to return to the basketball court, the constant set backs due to his injury wouldn’t be a perfect scenario for either the Bucks or the player.

The Knicks had the most cap space in the league at some point, but as per usual, they wasted most of that money. However, they still have some promising players and could be a playoff team if they make the right moves.

Julius Randle looked like a star in the making early in his tenure with the Knicks. He was dominant on both ends of the floor, had improved his playmaking skills, and looked like a born leader.

All of that is a thing of the past. His downfall was as quick and drastic as his rise, and it seems like that All-Star season was nothing but a fluke. He could still help a contending team as a third scoring option, though.

1. Cam Reddish

Cam Reddish is actually having a very solid season for the Knicks, meaning he’s likely to be traded. They can’t seem to develop their young players, and he’s got the most upside of their roster.

Tom Thibodeau never wanted Reddish, and he’s been mostly an afterthought filling in for injured players. Multiple teams would be wise to make the most of this and lure him awaynow that he’s on a team-friendly deal.

Victor Oladipo has yet to make his season debut, and his return seems far from imminent. Max Strus has been a streaky contributor, and Kyle Lowry is far from the player he used to be before arriving in Southern Florida.

Randle hasn’t been the same player since his All-Star season, but some believe all he needs is a change of scenery to thrive again. The Heat have always made the most of misfits and outcasts, so they might as well try and take a risk on him.

“If I tuned out of NBA news for a month, returned to learn that the Knicks had traded Randle and had to guess what the trade was, I’d assume they swapped him for another expensive contract — a milder version of all these supermax-for-supermax trades we’ve seen over the past few years. The four remaining seasons on Randle’s deal have made teams, even ones who believe last season wasn’t representative of who he is, hesitant about acquiring him. The Knicks, meanwhile, haven’t been willing to attach a first-rounder or two to send him elsewhere.”

The Knicks are certainly disappointed with Randle, but that doesn’t mean they want to move him at all costs. He may not have many suitors now, but he could still prove everyone wrong. It’s up to him to put all the pieces together and get back to his best.

Report: Lakers not interested in Julius Randle

“A very plugged-in person in the league told me… If Donovan Mitchell we’re to end up with the Knicks, there could be talks between the Knicks and the Lakers involving Julius [Randle],” Marc Stein reported.

However, Jovan Buha of The Athletic claims the Lakers have no interest in bringing Randle back and therefore taking his lucrative contract. He is set to make $117m over the next four seasons – although the final year is a $29.4m player option.

“Charlotte, New York and San Antonio also present trade options, though any deal with them appears unlikely as of now for various reasons,” Buha wrote. “The Hornets’ future is muddied with restricted free agent Miles Bridges facing felony domestic violence and child abuse charges. Trading for Westbrook doesn’t necessarily improve their chances of making the Play-In tournament.

“The Lakers aren’t interested in taking back Julius Randle from the Knicks, considering his contract (three years plus a player option on the fourth year) and less-than-ideal fit with Davis and James. The Spurs don’t have much to offer aside from absorbing Westbrook’s contract, which is certainly beneficial for the Lakers, but not at the cost of two first-round picks.”

Randle left a lot to be desired last season, which is why it makes perfect sense if the Lakers have zero interested in striking a deal with the Knicks, even if they could involve Russell Westbrook in it. At the same time, the Purple and Gold have to figure out how to improve their roster this offseason.
