“All four (accomplices) alleged Diallo was the instigator of the assault, in order to allow her to be given the place of the victim [in the PSG team] in future games,” the Versailles prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

Diallo was arrested but let go during the early part of the investigation where she was seen as just a bystander when Hamraoui was attacked in the car they both were riding in. Wiretaps after the fact led French police to vital information that Diallo planned the attack on Hamraoui. As a result, Diallo’s contract with PSG was allowed to finish and she was not resigned.

According to Le Parisien, French police were able to retrieve messages where Diallo wrote about her hatred towards Hamraoui. Diallo saw Hamraoui as direct competition on both PSG and the French national team.

Diallo went as far as to google various ways to hurt Hamraoui from “dangerous pill cocktail” to “how to break a joint”. Hamraoui spoke about the attack for the first time over the weekend issuing the following statement:

“I will never forget that night of Nov. 4, 2021. It haunts me night and day. That dark night changed my personal and professional life, my life as a woman and as a footballer player,”

“That sad night when I thought I was going to die when two hooded men forced me to get out of the car. They pummeled me with iron bars, essentially aiming for my lower body.”

“For long months after the assault, I was unfairly insulted on the (soccer) pitches, harassed on social networks and had my life threatened. Nevertheless, I held on with all my strength to my passion (of soccer) and to stay professional,”

“Today I trust in the justice system for the truth to all come out and for my honor to be saved.”

As it is reported by RT and AS, Hayet Abidal issued a statement after filing for divorce from the father of her five children Eric Abidal. The statement concludes that Eric Abidal had admitted to having an extra marital affair with Kheira Hamraoui.

The statement from Hayet Abidal’s lawyer also stated that they will clear up all the “rumors” of her client’s involvement in the attack against Hamraoui. Here is Hayet Abidal’s statement.

“Forced by circumstances and displeased by the Hamraoui case, Hayet Abidal will file for divorce in Barcelona. After the Prosecutor’s Office of Versailles announced on Monday night that the footballer’s phone chip was in the name of her husband Eric Abidal, he confessed that he had an adulterous relationship with Madame Hamraoui,”

Hayet Abidal was brought in for questioning by police earlier in the week after previous prime suspect Aminata Diallo admitted to police that the attacks were in fact planned by Hayet Abidal after she learned that her husband had an affair with Hamraoui.

Hamraoui, 31, was dragged out of Diallo’s car and was beaten on her hands and legs with metal bars and one of the attackers is reported by French media to have said, “you like to sleep with married men.” Eric Abidal’s legal team has yet to make a statement.

In what appeared to be a case of “trying to take out the competition” where Diallo, who plays the same position at PSG as Hamraoui hired the masked men to injure Hamraoui, things began to take a turn for the strange when former Barcelona player Eric Abidal was questioned by police.

According to reports from France, Abidal was considered to be behind the attack as part of a revenge plot on Hamraoui, whom he dated in the past. But now evidence points that the revenge factor was the main reason for the attack but that it was planned by Abidal’s wife Hayet Abidal.

According to Le Monde Eric Abidal was originally questioned because the SIM card on Hamraoui’s phone was registered under the name of the former Barcelona player. Testimony from Diallo, who was considered the prime suspect for the attacks, indicates that Hayet Abidal had threatened Hamraoui before.

It is reported in L’Equipe, all the information being received by police points to a love triangle between Hayet Abidal, Eric Abidal and Kheira Hamraoui, in which the plot to injure Hamraoui was one out of revenge by Hayet Abidal for Hamraoui sleeping with her husband.

It has been confirmed that while Hamraoui was attacked one of the masked men hitting her made statements about sleeping with married men.

Following a club dinner, Hamraoui and Diallo left in the same car, which was suddenly intercepted by masked men who pulled both out of the car and hit Hamraoui with metal bars, producing injuries on her legs that required stitches.

Prosecutor Maryvonne Caillibotte told reporters on Monday he will be questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. Le Monde reports Abidal could be behind the attack as part of a revenge to Hamraoui, whom he dated in the past. Mundo Deportivo, however, claims Abidal denied any connection with thecase.

ESPN adds the police have tracked Abidal after noticing Hamraoui called him in the morning of the attack. It remains to be seen how this situation unfolds, but for now, Abidal will be required to answera series of questions as the investigation goes on.
