The Los Angeles Dodgers want to go back to the World Series, and here we discuss the three trade deadline targetsthat could help them achieve that goal.
The Los Angeles Dodgers don’t need more help. They’re stacked with talent at every position and rank first in several categories in Major League Baseball. But when it’s World Series-or-bust, you never leave anything to chance.

Dave Roberts’ team will look to get even better ahead of the trade deadline. They’ve shown that money will never be an issue and have a deep farm system to make any deal a real possibility.

While they don’t have any glaring needs, they could use another arm for their rotation and a closer, primarilydue to their injuries. Also, you can never count them out when a star becomes available. So here, we discuss three trade deadline targets for the West Coast’s finest.

MLB Rumors: 3 Players Dodgers Could Target At The Trade Deadline

3. Juan Soto

    Juan Soto

The St. Louis Cardinals are reportedly leading the race for Juan Soto, but the Dodgers can one-up nearly every offer. They’ve never hesitated to add superstars, and locking him up for the next 15+ years is surely an appealing proposition.

Analysts believe the Washington Nationals could trade the 23-year-old before the deadline if someone makes a Godfather-like offer, and you know they’ll be on the phone trying to get a deal done.

2. Luis Castillo

    Luis Castillo

The New York Yankees are keeping tabs on Luis Castillo, but the Dodgers were also in the mix. He’s turned back the clock and is having a bounce-back year after last season’s subpar first half, and he’s the best pitcher available.

The Dodgers have been without Andrew Heaney, Dustin May, and Walker Buehler for most of the season. Clayton Kershaw has struggled with injuries, and Trevor Bauer may never pitch again, so this makes sense.

1. David Robertson

    David Robertson

The Chicago Cubs are going nowhere and will part ways with most of their veterans. The Dodgers should make the most of that fire sale and try to get David Robertson, one of the best closers in the Majors this season.

Robertson is on a team-friendly deal, so it’s not like they’d have to give up a lot to get him. Blake Treinen has been hurt, and Craig Kimbrel is on the backend of his career, so he’d be an instant upgrade at their position of most significantneed.

With Major League Baseball's trade deadline zooming in, let's take a look at the top three starting pitchers that should be at the top of everyone's wishlist.
Major League Baseball’s trade deadline is just around the corner. And judging by what we’ve seen thus far, we can already tell which teams will be sellers and which will be buyers looking to make a run at the World Series.

Regardless of how much offensive firepower you have, everybody knows you can’t win in the postseason unless you have a solid starting rotation. For that, starting pitchers are often the most-coveted assets at this time of the year.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the three best starting pitchers that could bolster any contenders’ rotation. They should be up for grabs as their teams are far from contention right now.

MLB Trade Rumors: The 3 Best SP Likely To Be Available

3. Luis Castillo

    Luis Castillo- Getty Images

Just like last season, Luis Castillo got off to a slow start, this time due to injury. But the Cincinnati Reds ace has once again turned the corner and proved that he could be a workhorse and steady contributor on a winning team.

Thus far, Castillo has a 3-4 record with a 3.09 ERA, 1.141 WHIP, and 66 strikeouts over 64.0 innings of work. His velocity is down a tad and he’s not getting any younger, but he still has a filthy repertoire and should be available at a reasonable price.

2. Jose Quintana

    Jose Quintana- Getty Images

The Pittsburgh Pirates are a mess and will continue to be one for the foreseeable future. They’re looking to get younger, more athletic, and gather as many prospects as they can, so they have no use for a 33-year-old hurler.

Jose Quintana has been under the radar for most of the season. But don’t let his 2-4 record fool you. He’s got a 3.33 ERA and has thrown 74 strikeouts on 81.0 IP, boasting a WHIP of 1.284. Also, he’s on a team-friendly deal.

1. Frankie Montas

    Frankie Montas – Getty Images

And last but not least, we find the guy everybody’s been talking about since before the start of the season. It’s not a matter of if Frankie Montas would be traded, but when and where he’ll be traded to.

The Oakland Athletics went through yet another massive roster overhaul in the offseason, but Montas stood put. He’s got a 3-9 record with a 3.26 ERA in 17 starts this season, striking out 100 over 96.2 innings of work.

The Mets got off to a strong start to the 2022 MLB season. But with many injuries in its starting rotation, New York would target new players such as Luis Castilloahead of the trade deadline.
Luis Castillo is once again subject oftrade rumors. The Cincinnati Reds star, who was already linked to other teams in the offseason, has one more year under contract before he can explore free agency.

Though the MLB trade deadline is still more than a month away, the New York Mets reportedly are making plans to boost their rotation after dealing with a bunch of injuries in the first half of the season.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Mets are interested in making a move for the Reds starting pitcher. However, Castillo would also draw interest from other contenders.

Report: Luis Castillo on the radar of Mets, among others ahead of MLB Trade Deadline

(Via New York Post)

“However, with other injury concerns in their rotation (and surely some continuing deGrom uncertainty), the Mets are among a few teams showing early interest in Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo.

“They’d presumably have interest in other starters, as well, including his teammate Tyler Mahle, who they talked about in winter, and A’s star Frankie Montas, who they’ve scouted, too. Word is, the Twins (who acquired Sonny Gray from Cincinnati) and ultra-aggressive Padres (who wouldn’t seem to have rotational needs) also are in on Castillo, who has another year before free agency and should draw interest from every contender.”

With only one year left in his contract before he can explore free agency, Castillo’s days with Cincinnati could be numbered. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Reds accept to ship him to get something in return.

With the MLB trade deadline zooming in, we take a look at the three best potential candidates to be on the move this season. Check them out here.
The 2022 Major League Baseball season has been quite unpredictable thus far. The Los Angeles Angels were one of the best teams in the league; then they dropped double-digit games in a row. The Boston Red Sox were bottom-feeders, but now they’re among the best-

That volatility has kept most analysts from making their predictions about what may or may not go down at the trade deadline. What teams will be sellers? Who’ll be on the move? It’s anybody’s guess.

But even though some teams could still turn the page and get hot before the deadline, chances are that some of the best players in the league will find a new home. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the 3 best trade deadline candidates as of now.

MLB Rumors: The 3 Best Trade Deadline Candidates

Frankie Montas

    Frankie Montas – Getty Images

Somehow, Frankie Montas managed to survive the Oakland Athletics’ offseason roster overhaul. But he’s still been linked to multiple teams since the start of the season, and it’s just a matter of who’s going to pay what the A’s want in return for him.

While never the most consistent hurler, Montas’ past two seasons have been quite solid. He’s got a strikeout-to-walk ratio of nearly 4and could provide a huge boost for a championship-caliber rotation.

Willson Contreras

    Willson Contreras – Getty Images

Willson Contreras and the Chicago Cubs weren’t on the same page on a contract extension and will head to arbitration. But regardless of the outcome, their struggles and Yan Gomes’ presence make us think that he’s going through his last days at Wrigley Field.

While not many teams need an upgrade at the catcher position, Contreras is one of the best offensive players at that spot and should come at a huge discount as he’s going to be a free agent at the end of the season.

Luis Castillo

    Luis Castillo – Getty Images

Luis Castillo struggled in the first half of last season before going back to his dominant form after the All-Star break. He started this year in the IL and is slowly working his way back into elite form again.

The Cincinnati Reds won’t compete for years to come. Castillo’s numbers aren’t exactly impressive right now, but he’s got the potential to be one of the most dominant pitchers in all of baseball.
