Jeff Hafley and the Miami Dolphins are staying calm, cool, and collected as De'Von Achane missed the opening day of the team's offseason program.
De’Von Achane is entering the final NFL season of his four-year, entry-level contract with the Miami Dolphins. As the team returns to the field for Day 1 of the offseason program, Achane is making his stand. Holding out as he hopes to sign a bigger contract, Achane puts head coach Jeff Hafley on notice, but he isn’t too concerned.

According to Dolphins reporters Marcel Louis-Jacques and Barry Jackson, Hafley made it clear “this is all part of the business”. Moreover, the first-year head coach believes Jon-Eric Sullivan and the front office will figure out a way to keep Achane in Miami.

The Dolphins are entering a complete rebuild. Stars such as Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Bradley Chubb, and others have already left. Many believe Achane could be the next name on that list, but Miami has no desire to move on from its best and most electric player.

Achane knows his worth in Miami

When Achane touches the pigskin, anything can happen in Miami Gardens. However, if he isn’t paid accordingly, the star running back could look for a future elsewhere. Achane knows how crucial he is to the Dolphins’ offense. Still, running back is the most underpaid position in the NFL, and even Achane may fall victim to a system that exploits halfbacks but leaves them out to dry as soon as things head south.

De’Von Achane is holding out ahead of a contract year

Entering a contract year, the stakes are just too high for the product out of Texas A&M. Thus, he is using his leverage to get a deal out of Miami before the season begins. If not, he could risk: (a) suffering an injury, (b) watching his production dip, or (c) both.

Any option would hinder his value and could end up costing him a lot of money, as well as job security in a league that can forget its stars as fast as it initially dubbed them generational talents. That is also part of the business—an ugly side to it, perhaps, but no less real because of it.

Could Achane ask out of Miami?

For all of these reasons, Achane may ask to be traded to a team with a real shot at the Vince Lombardi Trophy. For the Phins, it feels like any championship window won’t open for a while—not unless they find their franchise savior in the upcoming draft or in 2027. The lack of success Miami has had in drafting franchise quarterbacks leads fans to not be fully sold on that promise.

Achane is the most explosive player on a Miami Dolphins squad that lacks weapons on both sides of the ball. Miami would love nothing more than to keep the fourth-year running back in town. Yet the Phins are well aware that, just as elusive as he is on the gridiron and capable of breaking off to the races, Achane could just as quickly bolt from the Dolphins.

It’s paramount for Sullivan and Haffley to figure out a way to keep him around. In a worst-case scenario, Miami should vie for a king’s ransom in a trade involving Achane. Any other outcome may be a terrible omen to start Sullivan and Haffley’s time in South Florida.

2026 NFL Draft: NY Giants might face competition from Dolphins for LSU CB Mansoor Delane

https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/2026-nfl-draft-ny-giants-might-face-competition-from-dolphins-for-lsu-cb-mansoor-delane

As the New York Giants set their sights on CB Mansoor Delane, it seems like the Miami Dolphins might want to mess their plans.
LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane turned heads with his blazing speed at his program’s Pro Day. That prompted the New York Giants to appoint the player to visit their facilities. However, the Miami Dolphins might leapfrog the G-Men.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Delane will have a top 30 visit on Monday and Tuesday with the Dolphins. The Giants will host the prospect on Wednesday into Thursday. Hence, the Dolphins will have the possibility to make the first impressions.

Delane ran back to back 4.38 40-yard dashes during LSU’s Pro Day, but more than just his speed, he is an incredible player. Both the Giants and Dolphins could use a playmaker like Delane, so the CB’s sweepstakes could get very interesting ahead of the NFL Draft.

Mansoor Delane’s profile is absurdly good

Delane is great at both man and zone coverage. Add that to his speed, and he might be a lockdown corner for years to come. He is also great at press. In fact, many are comparing him to AJ Terrell, one of the best CBs in the NFL nowadays.

Mansoor Delane just ran a 4.38 at his pro day… I thought he was a ~4.50 guy!

Borderline blue chip when you combine that with his elite metrics and film: pic.twitter.com/NatHr60p9d
— NFL Draft Files (@NFL_DF) March 23, 2026

While he could be a tad-bit better as a slot corner and on run defense and blitzing, it’s nitpicking when it comes to Delane. He is one of —if not the best— prospects in the secondary in this draft class.

What is Mansoor Delane’s draft projection?

Widely regarded as a top 15 pick, Delane is scheduled to go high in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Dolphins have the 11th and 30th pick. If they want Delane, they must pick him at 11th, because there is a very slim chance that he falls all the way to 30.

As for the Giants, they have the fifth overall pick. To get Delane, they must either reach and pick him at fifth, or trade down to those middle picks in the first round. It’s quite the headache for them to sort this out, but if they fall in love with Delane, things must be done before the draft.

After several years with the Miami Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa is beginning a new chapter in the NFL, this time with the Atlanta Falcons.
His final stint with the Miami Dolphins undoubtedly fell short of expectations. Nevertheless, Tua Tagovailoa knows that his arrival in Atlanta with the Falcons represents a fresh start, and he’s ready to prove it in the upcoming NFL season.

“I am no stranger to competition,” the quarterback said via Tori McElhaney. Tua also revealed a bold promise to Falcons fans: “I think the best football is still ahead of me.”

The Alabama product had a final season in South Florida where he alternated between starting games and coming off the bench. Ultimately, his NFL journey landed him in the NFC South, where he will look to repay the confidence placed in him by his new franchise.

A rough 2025 for Tua

In his final season with the Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa posted a 6-8 record as a starter before his departure. He completed 260 of 384 passes for 2,660 yards, maintaining a 67.7% completion rate. While he threw 20 touchdowns, he also struggled with a career-high 15 interceptions and was sacked 30 times.

Tua Tagovailoa #1 of the Miami Dolphins.

Falcons expand their QB room

In the past few hours, Kevin Stefanski added a new signal-caller to his roster. As insider Jeremy Fowler reported on X, the experienced Trevor Siemian is joining as a free agent.

Ahead of this offseason, and after Kirk Cousins entered free agency, Atlanta began its rebuilding process with only Michael Penix Jr. on its depth chart. That solitude quickly ended with the announcement of Tua Tagovailoa’s signing with Falcons and now complemented with the former Jets quarterback.

Trevor Siemian #14.

Falcons’ GM satisfied with offseason moves

Although the Falcons lost players of the caliber of Darnell Mooney, they managed to add more experience. In addition to Tua, names like WR Jahan Dotson and edge rusher Azeez Ojulari have also joined the roster.

Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham expressed satisfaction so far: “We really went into this free agency looking to elevate our floor. Adding depth pieces, but also players that have had starting experience that could start and that have shown that they’re able to start in this league.”

An exciting Draft ahead for Atlanta

Atlanta will face this event without first-round picks due to a trade made in the 2025 draft with the Rams for the 26th pick at that time, which was used to select James Pearce Jr. These are the moments when Falcons will make their selections:

2nd round: No. 48

3rd round: No. 79

4th round: No. 122

6th round: No. 215

7th round: No. 231

Looking ahead to the next NFL season, the Miami Dolphins have placed their trust in Malik Willis’ talent to be one of their quarterbacks.
Malik Willis is now a Miami Dolphins player, and although he never imagined when the chance to become a starting quarterback would come, he promised to give his all to deliver big results next NFL season.

“I’m not sure. Whether I was ready or not, I can’t prove that. That would be just me being arrogant or prideful. But the opportunity’s here now, and I’m gonna try to do my best to take advantage of it,” he said during a press conference.

Willis arrived in South Florida this past offseason with the goal of replacing none other than Tua Tagovailoa. Can the former Packers standout lead his new team to contender status?

Times of transition in Miami

The Dolphins have hit the full reset button for the 2026 season, parting ways with both Tua Tagovailoa and head coach Mike McDaniel after a disappointing 7–10 campaign.

Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley.

In their place, the franchise has turned to a Green Bay connection hiring former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as head coach and signing quarterback Malik Willis to a three-year deal.

This new era, led by Hafley and new GM Jon-Eric Sullivan (also formerly of the Packers), signals a massive shift in philosophy as the team moves away from the speed-at-all-costs era toward a more disciplined, defensive-minded rebuild.

Breaking the losing streak

After missing the playoffs for two consecutive seasons, the Miami Dolphins are looking to end their 25-year drought without a postseason victory.

Their last postseason appearance came in the 2023 season, when they lost 26-7 to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round, in a historically frigid game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Numbers that inspire hope

In his 2025 season with Green Bay, Malik Willis was highly efficient as a backup, completing 85.7% of his passes for 422 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions across four games, while adding 123 rushing yards and 2 scores on the ground.

Now in Miami, he leads a revamped quarterback room that includes highly-touted Quinn Ewers and Cam Miller, signaling a complete youth movement for the Dolphins’ offense.

An intriguing Draft ahead

The Dolphins are entering the 2026 NFL Draft with a massive war chest of 11 total picks, including two first-rounders (No. 11 and No. 30) and an impressive seven selections in the top 100.

With such significant capital, the big question remains: will Miami use these picks to surround Malik Willis with elite weapons, or will they prioritize a complete defensive rebuild to mirror the Green Bay way?

Jalen Tolbert is ready for a new challenge. The Miami Dolphins' new wide receiver has promised to give his all to the club following the blockbuster trade that sent Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos.
The Miami Dolphins are undergoing a massive rebuild. This offseason, the club signed Jalen Tolbert to add depth to the wide receiver group, but he is now set to take on a larger role after Jaylen Waddle was traded to the Broncos.

In recent weeks, the Dolphins have made significant changes to their roster. Initially, they brought in Malik Willis to lead the offense, but the unit he encountered upon his arrival has changed drastically in recent days.

This week, the club traded Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos. He was expected to be the team’s WR1 following Tyreek Hill’s exit, but the receiving corps at Willis’s disposal will now have a new hierarchy.

Jalen Tolbert believes his chance to shine has arrived

When Jalen Tolbert signed his one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Dolphins, he expected a larger role than he had with the Dallas Cowboys. Nevertheless, few believed he would emerge as the WR2 on the offseason depth chart.

Following Jaylen Waddle’s departure to the Broncos, Malik Washington has become the new WR1, with Tolbert as the WR2. After playing a limited role in Dallas, Tolbert is now ready to step up and prove his worth—not only to the Dolphins but to the entire NFL.

“Obviously, all we ever can ask for is opportunity,” Dolphins new wide receiver Jalen Tolbert said, via Ryan Mackey of WPLG. “I felt like this was the best opportunity and I’m excited about it.”

Miami aims for a 180-degree change

The Dolphins have undergone a massive transformation this offseason, including the arrival of a new general manager, head coach, and starting quarterback, as well as a revamped wide receiver corps.

While they aim for a better season than last year, the sheer volume of these changes has raised doubts among fans. However, if they manage to succeed, it may go down as one of the most successful 180-degree turnarounds in NFL history.

KC Concepcion is rumored to be wanted by the New York Giants as the NFL Draft approaches, but the Miami Dolphins might want to sway the receiver in an opposite way.
KC Concepcion is an intriguing prospect. This is not precisely the best wideout class ever, but he has plenty of upside. Amid rumors that the New York Giants want him, now the Miami Dolphins are scheduling a visit for him.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that “Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion is among players being summoned to Dolphins headquarters for a ’30’ visit. Concepcion is one of many potential options at picks 30 or 43.“

Jackson also noted that top WR prospects like Makai Lemon will also attend a meeting. Lemon has a higher draft projection, so if Miami wants him, he should be taken at 11th. Concepcion can even fall to Day 2 of the NFL Draft easily.

Concepcion is such an interesting prospect

While a bit undersized and not as speedy, Concepcion is still an absolute baller when it comes to playing at every position a WR can go. Whether it’s X, Z, or slot, Concepcion can deliver. This is what makes him a legit prospect. He also is a beast on special teams.

The Giants are looking closely on the situation, but the Dolphins could present a WR1 opportunity for Concepcion after trading Jaylen Waddle and cutting Tyreek Hill.

How does Concepcion rank in this WR class?

ESPN ranks Concepcion as the eighth-best WR in the draft. Carnell Tate is the best of them all, followed by Jordyn Tyson, Makai Lemon, Omar Cooper Jr., Germie Bernard, Zachariah Branch, and Concepcion.

However, Concepcion has the special teams ability added to his stock. Another interesting prospect is Indiana’s Elijah Sarratt, who won the National Championship last season.

The Miami Dolphins are in the middle of a crucial moment for the franchise after letting many star players go. Because of this, De'Von Achane's future was uncertain.
The Miami Dolphins have sent a clear message to the NFL that they have begun a rebuilding process under general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley. However, De’Von Achane will not be part of that long list of players leaving the team.

The Dolphins have said goodbye to names like Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, and Minkah Fitzpatrick, taking on a massive dead money hit but acquiring draft capital for the future.

As a consequence, in this new era that will be led by Malik Willis as the franchise quarterback, one of the big questions is whether, given his high value, Achane would be on the trading block during free agency.

Will Dolphins trade De’Von Achane?

No. The Miami Dolphins will not trade De’Von Achane, according to a report from Adam Schefter. The team’s front office views him as a key piece to help Malik Willis.

“Sources: Teams that have called the Miami Dolphins to inquire about trading for Pro-Bowl running back De’Von Achane. They have been told that he is not available.”

In the coming weeks, especially through the draft, the Dolphins will have to start filling the large number of holes across their roster. The running back position won’t be a priority thanks to Achane.

With Jaylen Waddle being traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Denver Broncos, we take a look at the updated draft picks for both teams in 2026.
The Miami Dolphins are reportedly trading star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos in a deal that not only changes the wide receiver depth charts, but also many picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Dolphins are getting the Broncos’ first round pick (30th overall) along with their late third and fourth round picks (30th in each round) in this year’s NFL Draft.

This leaves Miami with the following draft picks in April:

Round 1: No. 11

Round 1: No. 30 (from Broncos)

Round 2: No. 43

Round 3: No. 75

Round 3: No. 87 (from Eagles)

Round 3: No. 90 (from Texans)

Round 3: No. 94 (from Broncos)

Round 4: No. 130 (from Broncos)

Round 5: No. 151

Round 7: No. 227

Round 7: No. 238 (from Chargers through Titans and Jets)

Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source.

Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft.

Miami receives: Broncos’ 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in…
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 17, 2026

Denver, meanwhile, is receiving Miami’s fourth-round pick (11th in round) in 2026 in addition to Waddle. This leaves the Broncos with the following draft picks in 2026:

Round 2: 62nd overall

Round 4: 108th overall (via Saints; Devaughn Vele trade)

Round 4: 111th overall (from Dolphins)

Round 5: 170th overall

Round 7: 246th overall

Round 7: 256th overall (Javonte Williams comp pick)

Round 7: 257th overall (Riley Dixon comp pick)

Dolphins embrace full rebuild by trading Waddle

The Dolphins trading Waddle confirms that the team is embracing a full rebuild in 2026. Having already parted with Tyreek Hill and Tua Tagovailoa, Miami is heading into the new season looking for a truly fresh start.

There’s a new regime in South Florida with Jon Eric Sullivan entering his first year as the Dolphins’ general manager and Jeff Hafley as head coach.

The Fins are ready to build a new offense around Malik Willis, the quarterback they signed in free agency. With many draft picks, young talent will arrive in South Florida hoping to reverse the franchise’s fortunes.

Waddle boosts Broncos’ offense after promising 2025

The Broncos, on the other hand, are looking to build on a promising 2025 season where they fell just short of a Super Bowl appearance.

Bo Nix gave them hope until an unfortunate injury late in the playoffs, but now he’s getting more help in Waddle to try and get over the hump.

Waddle arrives in Denver with 78 NFL starts under his belt, having caught 373 passes for 5,039 yards and 26 touchdowns during his fruitful stint in Miami.

Perhaps the change of scenery allows Waddle to chase the playoff success he couldn’t achieve with the Dolphins, who went 0-2 in the postseason with him on the team.

Jaylen Waddle is no longer a player for the Miami Dolphins and will now join the Denver Broncos as their new wide receiver.
Jaylen Waddle joins the Denver Broncos from the Miami Dolphins, giving a major boost to a WR corps that includes Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, and Pat Bryant. The group is rounded out by Michael Bandy, Marvin Mims Jr, and Lil’ Jordan Humphrey.

Meanwhile, Miami’s depth chart has been somewhat thinned out. Tutu Atwell, Malik Washington, and Jalen Tolbert lead the group, while further down are Terrace Marshall Jr, Theo Wease Jr, Tahj Washington, and AJ Henning.

Starting in 2026, Bo Nix will have a new, explosive weapon through the air. This significant move, which provides the Dolphins with new draft picks, was reported by Adam Schefter on X.

Boosting Nix’s passing attack

In the 2025 season, the Broncos‘ aerial attack led by Nix recorded 3,931 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions across 17 starts.

The receiving corps was anchored by Sutton, who surpassed the 1,000-yard mark (1,017) with 7 touchdowns, while rookie Troy Franklin added 709 yards and 6 scores. Overall, Denver’s passing game averaged 223.9 yards per game, ranking 11th in the league and proving to be a reliable component of their 14–3 record.

Waddle’s numbers in Miami

During the latest season, Jaylen Waddle remained a focal point of the Dolphins’ offense, finishing the year with 64 receptions for 910 yards and 6 touchdowns in 16 games.

Averaging 14.2 yards per catch, Waddle stepped up as the primary target following injuries to the receiving corps, including a standout performance against the Panthers where he recorded 110 yards.

With Malik Willis taking his spot as the starting quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, the team has now signed him a weapon in Jalen Tolbert.
The Miami Dolphins have a new quarterback in Malik Willis, and to give him the best chance to succeed, they are bringing him a new weapon in the name of wideout Jalen Tolbert, as reported by Jordan Schultz. He is a dual-threat player, as he is also a masterful special teams returner.

Tolbert played with Willis before back in the 2022 Senior Bowl. Hence, he is a known face to the quarterback poised to take the Dolphins into new heights. After being one of the most effective backups in the NFL, the Dolphins are trusting Willis to become their new franchise quarterback.

For him to succeed, he needs players that can help him and Tolbert is that. After all, Tolbert was a prominent player on his former team, the Dallas Cowboys. He played 1,922 offensive snaps and 381 special teams snaps in four years with the Cowboys.

Tolbert’s numbers have to be looked at with the proper scope

He is a dual-threat player. However, he is not elite. Tolbert is good at both things, and that makes him a very useful player. Given that the Dolphins already have a proper WR1 in Jaylen Waddle, Tolbert will be an escape valve.

Jalen Tolbert

Tolbert has 91 career-receptions for 1,093 and 10 touchdowns. However, he has never been given a big-time chance to shine. His best year was in 2024, where he racked up 610 yards and seven touchdowns. However, upon the arrival of George Pickens, he got relegated way too much in the pecking order. So, his raw numbers are not incredible, but he is a good, useful player.

What are Malik Willis’ best weapons on the Dolphins?

The Dolphins also recently signed former Los Angeles Rams WR Tutu Atwell. Tolbert and Atwell are a similar case of wideouts who showed talent, yet were never properly given their chance to prove they could be better. Alongside Waddle, Atwell and Tolbert, Willis will have WRs Malik Washington, Tahj Washington, Theo Wease Jr., Terrace Marshall, and AJ Henning at his disposal.

Running back De’Von Achane will be back with the team providing massive help from the backfield. Also, tight end Greg Dulcich will be a part of the offense. Now, it’s up to Bobby Slowik, the team’s new offensive coordinator, to make the most of a very average unit, but with a feasible chance to deliver on its upside.

Malik Willis is set to replace Tua Tagovailoa as the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, and he has now made a sincere admission about taking over as QB1.
Malik Willis is set to replace Tua Tagovailoa as the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins. Amid this major transition, the former Green Bay Packers player has addressed what it feels like to finally take over as a franchise QB1.

On Wednesday, the Dolphins officially moved on from the Tua era, absorbing an NFL-record dead cap hit to facilitate a change at the position. At the same time, the club introduced Malik Willis, who is ready to take over as the starting quarterback. The move reunites Willis with head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, both of whom worked with him during his time in Green Bay.

While he acknowledges the pressure of replacing a long-time starter like Tagovailoa, Willis expressed his excitement for the opportunity to lead the offense and become the starter after so many years waiting for the opportunity.

“I don’t think I put a timeline on it,” Willis said on finally becoming the starting QB, via Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald. “It happened when I was prepared. I think when I came into the league I wasn’t prepared. That’s not a knock towards my coaches or myself, that’s just what it was coming from the system I came from. I’ve had a chance to learn the last four years since I’ve been in the league — been through four different offenses, seen a bunch of different defenses and think I’ve grown a lot. Grateful for the opportunity once again.”

Malik Willis faces a major challenge in Miami

The 2026 offseason has been a period of drastic change for the Dolphins. Beyond the quarterback swap, the team has also parted ways with veteran stars like Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb, signaling a deep rebuild focused on long-term cap health and a fresh offensive identity under offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.

According to reports, Willis signed a three-year, $67.5 million contract with $45 million fully guaranteed. This investment proves that the new regime views him as more than just a bridge quarterback, despite his limited starting experience in the league so far.

Now, all eyes will be on how Willis adapts to the humid climate of South Florida and the high expectations of a fanbase desperate for postseason success. As the 2026 season approaches, the former third-round pick has his best chance yet to prove he belongs among the NFL’s elite starters and justify the Dolphins’ massive gamble.
