The Brooklyn Nets had to part ways with starting center Jarrett Allen in the James Harden trade. Now, they only have DeAndre Jordan in that position while sophomore Nicolas Claxton continues to nurse an injury.

John Henson could give them some length and an inside presence as a rim protector. His offense is limited but so is Jordan’s, and he made a living in the league thanks to his ability to swat shots.

2. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Once again, the Brooklyn Nets lost Taurean Prince in the James Harden deal, thus hurting their wing defense in a big way. Kevin Durant is an outstanding defender but James Harden isn’t, which is why Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could be a great fit.

Kidd-Gilchrist has never been much of a scorer but they don’t need him to take a single shot. He’s big, strong, athletic, physical, and a savvy defender, and he’d finally be in a position to make a positive impact.

1. Iman Shumpert

And last but not least, the Brooklyn Nets should look to bring back a former player. Iman Shumpert is still a free agent despite being a great backcourt defender and a somewhat reliable three-point shooter.

Shumpert has expressed his desire to make a comeback and the Nets could surely use a 3-and-D player capable of playing the two and the three. He’s not going to hurt their spacing that much and would take a cheap deal to get another shot at an NBA roster.
