Remember that success in Fantasy Football during the playoffs not only depends on the individual talent of the players, but also on their continuity in the postseason. It is advisable to monitor the recent performances and fitness of players, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of opposing teams, to make informed decisions on your lineup. Below are our suggestions by position to strengthen your Fantasy team.

When do the Fantasy Football playoffs start?

Most fantasy football seasons end a week before the NFL season. Because? Because Week 18 is typically a busy one, as NFL teams can leave their starters on the bench to prepare for early playoff games or take a look at less-used players before making off-season decisions. Now, let’s start with the selection:

Quarterbacks (QBs)

Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs)

The great figure of the league. Mahomes has consistently proven to be one of the best at his position and the Chiefs often have solid playoff performances. One detail: the ankle injury and insufficient production throughout the regular season make him an unstable option for the rest of the way.

Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders)

The rookie has had an impressive season, leading the Commanders to the playoffs and showing potential for big postseason performances. Will he maintain the level in the decisive games? We think so. What can be said for sure is that the driver’s seat for Offensive Rookie of the Year is for him.

Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)

Allen has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks in terms of Fantasy points, thanks to his ability both in the air and on the ground. So many variants of his game allow him to be a prominent name, but some fluctuations in the team’s game are an alarm to be corrected during the playoffs.

Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

Hurts combines his throwing and running ability, making him a valuable option, especially in key matchups, a doubt that still remains. One more detail: in Week 17 he suffered a concussion from a hit and it was decided to save it for the Playoffs.

Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaners)

He was the one who kept the Bucs alive in search of the postseason. Mayfield delivered some enormous statistics that, although it may seem like a real surprise to many, make him a candidate to lead all Fantasy QBs in scoring.

Running backs (RBs)

Isiah Pacheco (Kansas City Chiefs)

Within a team that is characterized by its best defensive level, Pacheco has established himself as the main runner in one of the consistent offenses. Despite being inactive from Weeks 2 to 12 with an ankle injury that required surgery, he remains a standout.

Jahmyr Gibbs (Detroit Lions)

Fast and versatile, Gibbs can score points both on the ground and in the air. He is one of the names that has stood out in the regular season, becoming the player who leads the team in rushing yards and total touchdowns.

Bucky Irving (Tampa Bay Buccaners)

What a gem the Bucs found in the fourth round of the last Draft, a running back who earned the starting job based on good performances and one of the reasons for qualifying for the postseason. The rookie was dealing with a couple of injuries during the latter part of the regular season, but is no longer on the injury report and is ready to excel in the Playoffs.

Wide Receivers (WRs)

A.J. Brown (Philadelphia Eagles)

As one of the top targets in the Eagles’ offense, Brown has the potential to put up significant yards and scores. The receiver has no qualms about wanting the ball and usually shows it. The bad news: the team has been going backwards in terms of play and results.

Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings)

On a team that appears among the candidates, Jefferson is a constant threat in the passing game, leading the Vikings in receptions and yards. In addition, he made history by becoming the player with the most receiving yards in his first five years in the NFL.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions)

Consistent and reliable in PPR, he is the main option for the Lions who seem prepared to make a statement and surprise in the playoffs. The usual spearhead in Detroit’s attack appears 2nd among receivers and 4th in regular season yards.

Puka Nacua (Los Angeles Rams)

The Rams’ star wide receiver. His numbers are always promising, especially in important games: he was the figure in the surprising victory against the Bills in the regular season. Nacua missed five games this season while appearing on the disabled list after injuring his knee. He returned from IR in Week 8 and, from there, was decisive for his team.

Tight End (TE)

T.J. Hockenson (Minnesota Vikings)

Despite not having been his best season, Hockenson has shown consistency and is a reliable option at tight end, especially in scoring situations. His playing time has remained high in recent weeks and his quarterback has played well overall.

Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs)

Regardless of better or worse performances, Kelce remains an elite option at the tight end position, as he is Patrick Mahomes’ favorite target in critical situations (and KC has experienced many of these). He has 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens)

Andrews is Lamar Jackson’s favorite target in the end zone. This year he made history in the franchise. It was against the Giants: on third-and-goal, he caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Jackson with 3:18 left in the first quarter. It was the 48th touchdown of his career, surpassing running back Jamal Lewis.

Sam LaPorta (Detroit Lions)

He has established himself as one of the best young tight ends in the league. Some injuries altered his usual performance, but he can be among the outstanding Fantasy values. The team has been having an outstanding campaign.

Defenses (DST)

T.J. Watt (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Watt leads the Steelers defense with his ability to force fumbles, sack quarterbacks and score fantasy points with big plays. This year he reached 10 sacks (the second fewest in games, 109) and is the only player in history to lead the NFL in sacks for a season three times.

Derwin James (Los Angeles Chargers)

Safety who contributes both in coverage and in blitz plays, accumulating tackles, interceptions and sacks. For his unnecessary rudeness, various punishments were imposed on him by the league, but he is a dominant player in his position.

Kicker (K)

Tyler Bass (Buffalo Bills)

No kicker in Bills history had made a 61-yard field goal, like the one he achieved in the victory against the Miami Dolphins. In his last few games, Bass has made 95% of his field goal attempts and 14 of 14 extra point attempts.

FLEX

Quentin Johnston (Los Angeles Chargers)

With the departures of previous star receivers, Johnston raised his hand to become the Chargers’ primary WR this season, his second season in the NFL. The wide receiver took charge of one of the shortcomings shown by a team that seeks to surprise in the postseason.

You primarily choose offensive players, although there are some modes that allow you to choose defensive players as well. But mainly, quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, kickers and a defense in general… this is how a regular NFL Fantasy lineup is made up. With an eye squarely on the last few decades, we rank the 20 best individual performances of the last 30 years of one of the most popular games on the planet.

Jalen Hurts (2022) – 378.8 points

Hurts led the Eagles to the Super Bowl in his second year as quarterback. The Alabama product racked up over 378 points as a dual-threat QB, accounting for 35 combined passing, rushing and receiving touchdowns across 15 games. Hurts completed 66.5% of his passes for 22 touchdowns and six interceptions, plus another 760 yards and 13 TDs rushing. His form made him an MVP candidate but he was ultimately beaten to the prize by Patrick Mahomes.

Justin Herbert (2021) – 380.8 points

After an impressive rookie year Herbert picked up from where he left off in 2021. The Chargers QB threw for over 5,000 yards and 38 touchdowns. The No.6 pick out of Oregon also ran in three TDs to underline his reputation as one of the most exciting talents in the NFL.

Tom Brady (2007) – 398 points

No all-time NFL list would be complete with the GOAT. Brady wasn’t known for his running ability but the Patriots legend still racked up close to 400 points in 2007. The New England signal caller became the first player in NFL history to throw 50 touchdowns in a single season, a feat that would be later surpassed by Peyton Manning (55) in 2011.

Cam Newton (2015) – 399.1 points

Newton’s 2015 MVP season remains one of the most impressive in NFL history. The dual-threat QB threw for 3,837 yards, 35 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions, while rushing for 636 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had a career-high passer rating of 99.4. Newtwon led the Panthers to the Super Bowl where they were defeated 24-10 by Peyton Manning’s Broncos.

Edgerrinn James (2000) – 403.3 points

Having been selected as the fourth overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft, James wasted no time in taking the league by storm. In 2000, he became only the sixth player in NFL history to rush for 3,000 yards or more in their first two seasons. That year he scored over 400 Fantasy points by virtue of 18 touchdowns and 1,700 rushing yards across 16 games.

Aaron Rodgers (2011) – 403.4 points

Rodgers ran away with the MVP award in 2011, leading the Packers to a 15-1 record in a vintage Fantasy year for the veteran QB. The Green Bay icon threw 45 touchdown passes with just 6 interceptions, the best ratio in NFL history. His ludicrous stat-line included 309.5 yards-per-game with a touchdown percentage ratio of 9.0%.

Drew Brees (2011) – 405.6 points

Brees started his career as a second-round pick and ended as the No. 2 all-time passer in NFL history. Drew also entered the league when the Chargers still played in San Diego, which shows how much the sport changed while the 13-time Pro Bowler set records and expanded the horizon for NFL offenses.

David Johnson (2016) – 407.8 points

A career-best season saw the Arizona Cardinals running back amass 407 points in 2016. Johnson scored 16 touchdowns and rushed for over 1,200 yards, including two hat-trick games against Seattle and the Jets. He would fail to reach the lofty heights of his historic 2016 season – but Fantasy fans will never forget his 2016 contribution.

Steven Jackson (2006) – 415.4 points

After Marshall Faulk, there was Steven Jackson. The future Hall of Famer had a breakout season in 2006 after taking the starting job from Faulk. The Rams running back rushed 346 times for 1,528 yards and 13 touchdowns, leading all NFL RBs in receptions, catching 90 passes for 806 yards and three touchdowns.

Josh Allen (2021) – 417.6 points

Allen is one of the most sought after quarterback in any draft and the Bills star announced himself on the Fantasy Football stage in 2021. Across 17 games on the way to AFC Championship defeat to eventual Super Bowl winners Kansas, Allen threw, ran, dived and pushed his way to 417 points. Allen threw for 36 touchdowns and rushed for six of his own to become the undisputed QB1 for the season.

Peyton Manning (2013) – 420 points

Manning makes the top 10 for his 2013 season despite rushing for -35 yards that year. What the Denver Broncos signal caller lacked in mobility he more than made up for in passing prowess. In a historic season, the former Colt threw an all-time NFL record 55 touchdown passes and 5,477 yards to fire the Broncos to Super Bowl XLVIII, where they would lose out to the Seattle Seahawks.

Jerry Rice (1995) – 420 points

Hall of Fame wide receiver Rice was an absolute force in 1995. He finished with 1,848 yards and 15 touchdowns in 16 games. The 49ers icon plundered over 400 Fantasy points from 122 catches across 16 games. His season total for receiving yards means he’s ranked fourth in the all-time list behind Julio Jones (1,871), Cooper Kupp (1,947) and Calvin Johnson (1,947).

Lamar Jackson (2019) – 421.7 points

Jackson was named MVP in 2019, becoming only the second player ever to win the award unanimously. Lamar won the honor thanks to his incredible performances for the Ravens in a year in which he led the team to a league-best 14-2 record. As well as passing for 3,127 yards and 36 touchdowns, Jackson rushed for 1,206 yards, breaking Michael Vick’s single-season record for a quarterback in the process and obliterating the average mark for an MVP quarterback (131).

Emmitt Smith (1995) – 426.8 points

The three-time Super Bowl champion leads the NFL in rushing yards and touchdowns but his best year came in 1995. He recorded career highs for rushing yards (1,773), rushing touchdowns (25), and receptions (62). Smith’s impact on the team helped nurture the Cowboys back to the top of the NFL. The Cowboys, with their star runner leading the way, won three Super Bowls over four seasons from 1992 to 1995.

Patrick Mahomes (2022) – 429.4 points

Mahomes was named MVP for the second time in his career after setting the league ablaze with 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns in the regular season. The Chiefs No.14 was the only quarterback that year to eclipse 5,000 passing yards and 40 touchdowns. His 308.8 passing yards per game was also an NFL-high. Mahomes would go on to lead the Chiefs to Super Bowl glory in a thrilling 38-35 win over Philadelphia Eagles.

Cooper Kupp (2021) – 439.5 points

Kupp’s 2021 production helped the Los Angeles Rams to Super Bowl glory. His telepathic relationship with quarterback Matthew Stafford saw him rack up 1,947 yards, just 53 shy of Calvin Johnson’s all-time record (2,000). Kupp would go on to win the Super Bowl MVP, scoring two touchdowns as the Rams beat Cincinnati Bengals in the 2022 Big Game.

Priest Holmes (2003) – 445 points

Before Mahomes, Holmes was the must have Chiefs pick in any Fantasy draft. Holmes’ points haul comprised of 1,420 yards and 27 touchdowns in just 14 games, two fewer than the majority of players on our list. The Chiefs running back’s single-season touchdown haul is remains just one shy of the all-time record set by LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006.

Marshall Faulk (2000) – 459.9 points

The St. Louis Rams running back is the first man on our Fantasy podium with his 2000 season with the Greatest Show on Turf. Faulk had 253 carries for 1,359 yards and scored 26 touchdowns in 14 games in 2000. He was selected to play in his fifth Pro Bowls. He won his second Offensive Player of the Year award and his first MVP award.

Christian McCAffrey (2019) 471.2 points

This generation’s NFL cheat code. Two years after making his Carolina Panthers debut, the Stanford product became the third player in NFL history to enter the 1,000-1,000 club. He rushed for 1,387 yards and 15 touchdowns while catching 116 passes for 1,005 yards and four touchdowns for the Panthers. McCaffrey joined Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk as the only players in NFL history to accomplish the 1,000-1,000 feat. CMac formed a formidable Fantasy partnership with Carolina’s dual-threat QB Cam Newton.

LaDainian Tomlinson (2006) – 481.1 points

San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson holds the all-time record for most Fantasy points in a single season. Tomlinson rushed for 1,815 yards on the ground with 503 yards through the air. LT’s historic scoring output came via 31 touchdowns (28 rushing, 3 receiving) that also places him in the record book. His single-season touchdown total eclipsed the 28 touchdowns scored by Shaun Alexander of the Seattle Seahawks in 2005. Tomlinson was also voted the league’s MVP for his rushing heroics.

Extra mention for those players with records for the number of points in a game:

Clinton Portis

Legendary running back, who in 2003 had the best performance in points in NFL Fantasy. Against the Chiefs, he rushed for 218 yards, received 36 through the air and scored five touchdowns to generate 55.40 points… the most in history for a player.

Alvin Kamara

Running back for the New Orleans Saints, in the Christmas game of the 2020 season he gave users who had him 53.20 points, the product of six touchdowns and 155 rushing yards plus 17 through the air.

Shaun Alexander

The legendary Seattle Seahawks running back, who in 2002 and also against the Vikings, added 53.10 points, achieving them from 139 rushing yards, 92 through the air and a total of five touchdowns.

The sign is one of those wearable A-frame style ones that completely cover their front and back, so nothing is generally exposed, but they are visibly naked from the side. Well, one year my friend Mike (that year’s loser) bent over to pick something up from the curb, and the sign flopped up, exposing his butt. We all laughed about it for days. Since then, I have named my team “Mike’s Cheeks” to remind him of the embarrassment every time he plays me.

As a lifelong NFL fan, I wanted to create a fantasy football team name that symbolized my passion for the game. After much consideration, I called it “Throwing Hail Marys.”

For everyone’s surprise, the Dolphins are unbeaten through three games, and not just easy ones. They managed to defeat the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, proving they are candidates to win the championship this year.

Unfortunately for them, in the last win against the Bills they had problems regarding their quarterback. Tua Tagovailoa left after getting injured and of course his Fantasy owners are doubting if they should start him in their teams this week.

Tua Tagovailoa’s injury: Should you start him in your Fantasy team for Week 4?

There are too much doubtsregarding Tua Tagovailoa and his status. The NFLPA is invastigating if the concussion protocol was applied correctly after a strong hit against the Bills, but the Dolphins said it was not a head problem.

Now, it was revealed that Tua Tagovailoa had a back injury after Sunday’s game and that’s why he didn’t enter the concussion protocol. The Dolphins say that he should have no problem to play this Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Rodgers, Brady, and Mahomes are safe, they will all play in the postseason, but it is unlikely that all of the top five names will play in the final week of the 2021-22 NFL regular season. Also, if Herbert (Chargers) loses his last game of the season against the Raiders, then he won’t be able to play in the postseason.

Taysom Hill will be an important QB1 to watch in the final week of the season as he and the Saints must win the game against the Atlanta Falcons to play in the playoffs. On the other hand, of the rookie starting quarterbacks, none will be in the postseason, Lawrence and Fields will watch the playoffs from their homes.

NFL 2021-22: Ranked quarterbacks for the final week of the regular season

As mentioned above, one of the big names in Week 18 is Justin Herbert as he will be fighting for a spot in the playoffs against the Raiders on the road. That game is win or go home for Herbert.

For Week 18 the QBR will not be available, only the ranking based on the favorite big names for the final week. For the playoffs the rankings return with QBR provided by ESPN and other more detailed statistics for fantasy lovers.

Baltimore Ravens was another team that suffered during the last week as they without Lamar Jackson were very close to winning at home against the Green Bay Packers, but Aaron Rodgers took advantage of all the errors of the Ravens defense to win on the road 31- 30.

The Browns hope that this week Baker Mayfield and another couple of players who were off the roster in Week 15 due to Covid-19 will be available and full status to play for the team against the Packers according to the latest update from the Browns head coach.

NFL 2021: Starting quarterbacks for Week 16

Quarterback Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is no longer in the first spot of the Bolavip Starters Rankings but the GOAT remains firmly in the top three spots on the list. Brady missed the first spot after the loss to the Saints 0-9.

NFL 2021: Backup quarterbacks starting in Week 16

Only two backup quarterbacks are starting in Week 16, one is Taysom Hill with the New Orleans Saints, but he is gradually going to become the team’s starting quarterback. The other starting backup this week is Tyler Huntley with the Ravens as QB1 Lamar Jackson is injured.

Why is Lamar Jackson not starting in Week 16?

Lamar Jackson will not be available with the Ravens in Week 16 due to an ankle injury, but John Harbaugh, Raven’s head coach, recently said Lamar’s ankle is getting better. Lamar Jackson suffered an ankle injury during the game against the Browns in Week 14.

Kyler Murray is back after three weeks injured, after that injury he won his first game against Chicago 33-22, but in the Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14 he lost 23-30. Kyler threw for 383 passing yards but with 2 interceptions.

Mac Jones is in the top ten of the Bolavip Quarterback Rankings, but he has a low QBR so far. The game against the Bills was easy enough for Jones in Week 13, he threw only 5 passes for 19 yards. It was Jones’ most boring game of the 2021 NFL season, but the Patriots won 14-10.

NFL 2021: Starting quarterbacks for Week 15

The top 10 rankings remain the same, but this week Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers is not in the first spot. Patrick Mahomes remains in a good spot with 57.3 QBR and Josh Allen one spot down with 57.5 QBR.

NFL 2021: Backup quarterbacks starting in Week 15

Garner Minshew will be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles against Washington Football Team at home on Sunday, December 19 at 1:00 PM (ET). Another Backup starting in Week 15 is Case Keenum with the Cleveland Browns vs. Las Vegas Raiders at home on Saturday, December 18 at 4:30 PM (ET). The third backup quarterback starting in Week 15 is Taysom Hill with the Saints, he will play Tom Brady and the Bucs on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 PM (ET).

Why is Baker Mayfield not startking in Week 15?

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will not be available for Week 15 due to a positive test for Covid-19. Other players like Kevin Stefanski are also on the Browns’ coronavirus-infected list.

Philadelphia Eagles won their first game without Jalen Hurts this year, the victory over the Jets 33-18 was thanks to Gardner Minshew. He threw for 20/25 with 242 passing yards, 2 touchdowns without interceptions. But this week Minshew won’t be the starter as the Eagles are enjoying Bye Week 14.
