Chelsea who are in the market for a central defender if the trio of defenders Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger do not resign with the Blues at the end of the season. Here are all the details about Pau Torres and his possible move to Chelsea.

Pau Torres to Chelsea

It has been reported that Pau Torres has been monitored by the Chelsea scouts for quite some time now, and the reports have been exceptional. Torres is a silky defender known for his quick speed, and very good ball possession. His presence on the Spanish national team has been growing and Villarreal could pocket a very good transfer fee.

Chelsea is not slowing down in the defender department; they are also interested in Niklas Sule and Jules Kounde. Chelsea, who are known for buying players, and are not short on defenders, they have 10 defenders on loan this season to other clubs. In total Chelsea has 22 players, almost an entire squad on loanacross the world.

The signing comes asa much-needed bit of good news for Manchester United after a Europa League final defeat to Villarreal and the fiasco of the European Super League which further added fuel to the fire between ManU fans and the Glazer family.

United had their eyes on Raphael Varane during the season but Real Madrid said no to a €55 million transfer. Varane has one more year remaining on his contract and if he is not sold or resigns with Real Madrid, they run the risk of Varane leaving on a free transfer. The Spanish giants need an influx of cash to make their offseason moves so they could accept an offer.
