Former Club America captain Paul Aguilar has been linked with a possible move to the MLSsince headingto the endof his contract with the Aguilas. Several months later, he could finally join the US top soccer league.
Paul Aguilar has been off the pitch for a while since his contract with Club America expired at the beginning of the year. The former Aguilas captain has left the club after nine successful years that will live long in his memory, and the MLS could be next for him.

The 35-year-old right-back spent over nine years at the Estadio Azteca, where he joined from Pachuca in 2011. Aguilar went on to earn a significant place in America, winning threeLiga MXtrophies, two Concachampions titles, one domestic cup, and another supercup.

However, after leaving the Mexican giants as a legend, he has been struggling to find a new team. He was expected to set foot in the Major League Soccer for this season, and despite that has not happened yet, the player revealed that the move is stillon the cards.

Paul Aguilar apparently getting close to an MLS move

With the introduction of expansion side, Austin FC to the US principal soccer competition, Aguilar’s name has been linked with a potential arrival to the MLS newcomers for 2021.

It’s been a while since the current season began, but the doors for Aguilar might still be open. The player expressed in an interview with Fox Sports that his agent was still working on his arrival to the MLS, and Austin are believed to be his most likely destination.

When he was heading to the final months of his contract at America, Aguilar and Austin FC rumors incredibly increased throughout themedia, with the expansion team understoodto be keen on signing the Mexican defender.

TheTexas side has then acquired other players, with Tomas Pochettino earning the seconddesignated player slot after Cecilio Domínguez, who was signedway before the team’s MLS opening season.

Paul Aguilar now can finally join Austin FC after several months of being off the pitch to put the icing on the cake to his brilliant career at 35 years of age. He has plenty of experience, yet it remains to be seen how long he can perform at this level.
