Is there a plausible scenario where Westbrook returns to play for the Thunder next season? According to McMahon, although Westbrook is expected to have his jersey retired in Oklahoma City in the future, a reunion with the Thunder is not imminent.

“The Thunder will hang Westbrook’s No. 0 in the rafters post-retirement, but the defending champions have no room on their roster or inclination to disrupt the chemistry from their recent title run,” McMahon stated regarding Westbrook’s prospects.

However, McMahon suggests that the Sacramento Kings appear to be the most likely destination for Westbrook. “League sources consider the Sacramento Kings the most probable landing spot for Westbrook, who will turn 37 during the first month of the season,” McMahon wrote.
