At this moment (and since 1993), that honor belongs to Gheorghe Muresan 7 ft 7 in (2.31 m), a specimen that drew a lot of attention wherever he went. This Rumanian-American player had a 10-year career, playing seven years in the association after getting selected in the 1993 draft by the then Washington Bullets.

He edges one of his former teammates, Manute Bol, on this list. The Sudanese player was 7 ft 6 in (2.29 m), just two centimeters shorter than Muresan. Curiously, they played together in Washington, so you know that team must have been really interesting.

Manute Bol had a song that is also too tall, but not enough to beat the guy who holds this record right now. Senegalese player Tacko Fall is the current tallest player in the NBA, listed at 7’6”. He was undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft but the Boston Celtics picked the player and signed him to a two-way deal.

Although Tacko is not the biggest star in the league or the most important player on his team, the big man has become a sensation among NBA fans, drawing a lot of attention whenever he goes and enjoying being it.
