The singer most recently supported her husband, Travis Kelce, at Kansas City’s October 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, but there has been no verified report confirming her presence in Seattle for Sunday’s game.

She has made several appearances at Chiefs games this season, including the season opener and the Week 2 matchup. Her latest appearance drew attention as she watched alongside Caitlin Clark and Este Haim.

Why might Taylor Swift miss Chiefs vs. Seahawks?

Taylor Swift’s attendance at the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Seattle Seahawks remains unconfirmed, and the road matchup could be a factor in whether she attends. She is believed to be unlikely to attend today.

The Chiefs are playing at Lumen Field in Seattle on Sunday Night Football in Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season, rather than at Arrowhead Stadium, where she has made several appearances to support her husband, Travis Kelce.

She was last seen at a Chiefs game on October 18, when Kansas City faced the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium. She watched from a suite alongside singer Este Haim and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. It was her third appearance at a game this season.

Is Travis Kelce playing against the Seahawks tonight?

Travis Kelce is expected to play against the Seahawks. The veteran tight end has no official game-status designation despite dealing with an ankle injury, meaning he is expected to be available for the matchup at Lumen Field.

He was listed as a limited participant in all three of the practices leading up to the game. The ankle issue developed during the Chiefs’ October 18 matchup against the Chargers, but he returned to that game and finished with four receptions for 53 yards.

His availability is particularly important with wide receiver Rashee Rice ruled out because of hamstring and knee injuries. He could become an even more important target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes as Kansas City looks to maintain its offensive production against Seattle.

Key takeaways

• Taylor Swift is not confirmed to attend the Chiefs’ game against Seattle on Sunday.
• Taylor Swift last supported Travis Kelce against the Los Angeles Chargers on October 18.
• Travis Kelce is expected to play without an official game-status designation despite an ankle injury.

One important detail to keep in mind is that the MTV Video Music Awards are also taking place today, Sunday, September 27. The event is being held in Los Angeles, so Swift’s schedule could make it difficult for her to attend the ceremony if she travels to Miami.

So far in the 2026 NFL season, Swift has been in the stands for the Chiefs’ victories. Both games, played at Arrowhead Stadium, ended in wins over the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts.

The singer is often seen alongside Kelce at various points throughout the season, although there is still no confirmation that she will travel to Miami for Week 3. If her presence can be considered a good-luck charm, having her at the stadium could potentially provide a boost for the Chiefs.

Kelce is back to his best in 2026

Travis Kelce is off to a flying start in the 2026 season, racking up 172 receiving yards on 12 catches and a touchdown through the first two games to keep the Chiefs undefeated. He looks completely rejuvenated out on the field, and even Andy Reid credited Kelce and Taylor Swift’s marriage for giving the veteran tight end that extra spark and work ethic heading into his 14th year in the league.

When is the Chiefs’ next game at Arrowhead?

After back-to-back road trips against the Dolphins in Week 3 and the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4, followed by their Week 5 bye, the Chiefs finally return to Arrowhead Stadium for their next home game on Sunday, October 18, to face the Los Angeles Chargers. It marks their first game in Kansas City in nearly a month, making it the ideal spot for Taylor Swift to return to her luxury suite and cheer on Travis Kelce as divisional action resumes.

Key takeaways

• Taylor Swift’s attendance is not guaranteed at Hard Rock Stadium for Week 3.
• Travis Kelce recorded 172 receiving yards and one touchdown through two games.
• Kansas City returns to Arrowhead Stadium for their next home game on October 18.

Swift attended Week 2’s Sunday Night Football between the Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium, just like she did in Week 1 when Kansas City hosted another primetime game against the Denver Broncos. She was a privileged spectator to a dominant performance by her husband, Kelce. Following the Chiefs’ buzzer-beater win over the Colts in overtime, Reid made a sincere statement about Kelce’s wife’s role in his recent success.

“[Kelce] worked his tail off, that’s the bottom line. He likes his surrounding cast that’s around him, too. It sure helps. It takes a lot of pride in that. Everybody questioned with the wedding and honeymoon, would he be out of shape? He works his rear end off. I think Taylor [Swift], you’re putting on four-hour shows, you’ve gotta work hard, too. I’m sure she kicks him in the butt a little bit there, too,” Reid said during an interview on KSHB 41 News.

Iron sharpens iron. Since the couple got together, there were concerns about whether Swift would be a distraction to Kelce on gameday as the spotlight shifted onto the Kelce family suite at Arrowhead Stadium. That couldn’t have been any further from the truth, and since the two superstars wed in the summer in New York City, they’ve only been off to a great start, which is best exemplified by Kelce’s numbers in the 2026 NFL season.

Kelce’s red-hot start to 2026

While Reid faces a challenge in balancing Kenneth Walker III and Emmett Johnson’s touches in the backfield, it’s clear he has no worries when it comes to the tight-end position. Not as long as Kelce is playing the way he’s done so far in the 2026 NFL season.

After dealing with retirement rumors all offseason long and coming off a disheartening 2025 campaign in which he finished with a third-career-worst 76 receptions, second-worst 851 yards and five touchdowns, something has clicked for Kelce. Reid has reasons to believe it has to do with his wedding, held on July 3 at Madison Square Garden.

Indeed, the sample size remains small, but Kelce’s first two outings of the season are more than encouraging. So far, Kelce has caught 12 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown. At this pace, he’s projected to finish the season with 102 catches, 1,462 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

It goes without saying, but those would be impressive numbers for a 36-year-old (turns 37 on Oct. 5) many believe is playing his last season in the NFL. If he finishes the year with these numbers, however, it won’t take long before fans in Kansas City, and Reid included, grow convinced there’s still a lot left in the tank.

The Chiefs are back

There will be time for that conversation later. For the time being, Reid and the Chiefs will enjoy this reborn version of Kelce, which Swift may deserve a lot of credit for. In perfect “Love Story” fashion, there is a new prince and princess in The City of Fountains, and that’s just what the Chiefs Kingdom needed.

Patrick Mahomes is healthy, Andy Reid is still Andy Reid, and Travis Kelce is back to his old ways. The sky is the limit for Kansas City, and the NFL must take cover before the sky is painted red.

Key takeaways

• Andy Reid credited Taylor Swift’s work ethic for motivating her husband’s strong season start.
• Travis Kelce caught 12 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown through two games.
• The couple officially married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

It didn’t take long before the broadcast showed Swift in attendance at the luxury suite. Perhaps waiting for the perfect moment, that was provided by Kelce’s 13-yard touchdown catch. As Kelce celebrated in the endzone, Swift was enjoying the moment surrounded by friends and family up in the box.

By now, Swift attending Chiefs games has become routine. Just like expecting Patrick Mahomes to be Kansas City’s starting quarterback, as he will in Week 2 of the NFL against the Colts, Swift has reached that level of certainty.

As long as Kelce is playing, she will be joining Chiefs Kingdom in the stands. In pure “You Belong With Me” fashion, Swift is on the bleachers for Kelce’s primetime matchup against the Colts — well, not quite the bleachers, as she’s in a luxury suite — but you get the point.

Swift keeps perfect attendance

As Kansas City plays back-to-back night games to start the 2026 NFL season (Monday night in Week 1), Swift is off to a perfect attendance start to the campaign. Two for two at Arrowhead.

With no tours scheduled anytime soon and her new life next to husband Kelce in Missouri, there aren’t many reasons to believe Swift will miss games anytime soon. Not as long as Kelce and the Chiefs play at home, and if it’s in primetime and on national television, even better.

During Week 1, Swift was joined by Tom Cruise, leading to fans asking who his favorite NFL team is and whether Cruise is a Chiefs fan. In Week 2, at least as Swift was shown during the TV broadcast, she didn’t appear to be joined by any other celebrity. She may have no need for such company as long as she is close to her husband. Where Kelce is, Swift isn’t too far behind, and that stays true in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season.

Swift celebrates Kelce’s TD

In Week 2 of the NFL season, Kelce recorded his first touchdown grab of the campaign. Swift was in attendance, and in case anyone missed Kelce’s explosive play, Swift made sure to remind everybody who just scored. Pointing at her ring finger on her left hand (which has sported a wedding ring since July 3), Swift may have had the best celebration across all games on Sunday.

According to stats from USA Today, Kelce’s TD against Indianapolis was the ninth he scored with Swift in attendance — the first since Week 8 of the 2025 campaign.

A member of the Chiefs’ family

Gearing up for Week 2’s Sunday night showdown, Swift joined Kelce and others for Patrick Mahomes’ 31st birthday (Sept. 17) at the steakhouse owned by the Chiefs’ quarterback and tight end, 1587, as reported by People.

Clearly, Swift is another member of the big family in Kansas City, and she has another reason to attend games at Arrowhead Stadium: not only is her husband playing, but her friends are, too.

“[Swift is] a huge fan of the Knicks and really wants to be there to support them. She is going with friends,” as reported by Page Six. Whether Kelce is included in the friend group or not, that’s unclear. Perhaps, if Kelce were to join her, the source would’ve noted it. The fact there is no mention of Kelce suggests he won’t be in New York.

Most signs suggest Kelce isn’t making the trip to the Big Apple to catch Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Knicks and Spurs. First, he is currently participating in the Kansas City Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp back in Missouri. Second, the Cleveland Heights native may still not be over his Cavaliers’ 4-0 defeat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Kelce is staying loyal to both his NFL organization and the basketball team he grew up rooting for. Most likely, Swift won’t be joined by Kelce at the “World’s Most Famous Arena.” Still, there will be no shortage of celebrities in attendance. In addition to Swift, MSG regulars Timothée Chalamet, Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, Mariska Hargitay, and many others may also be sitting courtside during Game 4.

Is Taylor Swift a Knicks fan?

Born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, Swift grew up somewhat close to New York City and well within Knicks territory. Over the years, she has repped the orange and blue countless times and has attended games at Madison Square Garden.

Most notably, Swift and Kelce sat courtside at Rocket Arena during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, when the soon-to-be-married couple’s childhood teams—the Knicks and Cavaliers, respectively—met. Ultimately, Swift had the last laugh as New York swept Cleveland en route to the organization’s first Finals appearance since 1999.

MSG will host Swift and Kelce’s wedding

Swift may have also gotten her wish regarding the wedding venue. According to reports, Swift and Kelce will get married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden. Thus, as she watches the Knickerbockers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Swift may also have time to analyze the venue and make any last-minute adjustments.

As for Kelce, he’s busy gearing up for the 2026 NFL season. While his fiancée enjoys a night out in the City That Never Sleeps, he’ll remain in the City of Fountains working on his craft.

Kelce has remained noncommittal about his future, fueling debate among fans and analysts about whether he will return for another season with the Kansas City Chiefs or step away from the game.

During a recent interview, Donna Kelce was asked directly if she wants her son to keep playing or say goodbye to football. Rather than pushing him in either direction, she made it clear the choice must come from Travis himself.

Travis Kelce’s retirement decision

Speaking in an interview with TMZ Sports, Donna emphasized that the decision should be based on what feels right for him personally and professionally. “I just want him to do what he feels comfortable doing. He’s got to talk to people that are in his life and decide what he wants to do. So, I’m not sure. We’ll see what happens.”

Taylor Swift and her impact on Travis Kelce

Another factor that could influence the decision is his personal life, particularly his relationship with Taylor Swift. With the couple now engaged and widespread speculation pointing to a wedding later this year, Kelce may choose to prioritize this new chapter.

Kelce has become a legend in Kansas City, helping define an era alongside Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid. Because of that legacy, the idea of him finishing his career elsewhere has often been dismissed as unlikely. Still, the NFL offseason is known for producing unexpected twists.

That backdrop has fueled discussion across sports media, but one recent rumor has stood out for how far it strays from conventional expectations. The suggestion that Kelce might leave a Super Bowl contender to join a rebuilding franchise has drawn skepticism, yet it has not stopped the conversation from spreading.

Could Travis Kelce really join the NY Giants?

The speculation about Travis Kelce going to the NY Giants gained traction after comments from Craig Carton, who framed the idea as a rumor rather than confirmed reporting.

Carton said: “The rumor is that Travis Kelce is not going to retire. That he wants to come back for another year, but he doesn’t want to come back to Kansas City. I saw a story that Travis Kelce wants to come back and wants to play for the New York Giants. That way, he and his wife can live in New York City. She goes to every game. She does not have a tour planned for next season. Kelce can be in the biggest media market in America. It’s just a rumor. Do not sleep on the New York Giants signing Travis Kelce this offseason.”

The notion of Kelce leaving Kansas City for the Giants would represent a dramatic shift. While New York offers unmatched media exposure and commercial opportunities as a city, the Giants are in a different competitive phase than the Chiefs, who remain annual Super Bowl contenders.

For now, the idea remains highly speculative and widely viewed as far-fetched. Kelce’s decision will likely hinge on his physical readiness, motivation to continue competing for championships, and personal priorities alongside Taylor Swift. Until he speaks publicly about his plans, the possibility of a move to New York sits firmly in the realm of offseason rumor rather than realistic expectation.

Taylor Swift’s connection to the NFL has turned every major game into a guessing game. Her schedule, travel patterns and recent public moments have fueled speculation all week, keeping the spotlight hovering well beyond the scoreboard.

With kickoff nearing, the question lingers in the background noise of Super Bowl Sunday. Whether confirmed or not, the possibility alone shows how this matchup stretches past football, tapping into the cultural pull of the league’s biggest stage.

Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce attending Super Bowl LX?

As anticipation builds for Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, one subplot outshines even the gridiron drama: the status of pop culture’s most talked-about couple.

Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce have dominated headlines with their high-profile relationship, but recent public appearances have added layers to the speculation around their presence at this year’s big game.

They were notably absent from recent major events like the 2026 Grammy Awards and related after-parties, choosing to maintain a low profile rather than follow their usual pattern of high-visibility outings.

While Swift’s connection to Super Bowls past, where she cheered Kelce from VIP suites, keeps fan interest high, official confirmations about either of them attending today’s matchup haven’t surfaced in reliable reporting.

Earlier chatter had even swirled about her potentially headlining a halftime show, and her relationship with the Chiefs star has fueled endless speculation about crossover moments, but this year’s headline entertainer is a different global artist.

Over the years, some of the biggest names in music have quietly stepped away from the opportunity. Their reasons rarely fit into a single narrative, shaped instead by timing, control, principle and how much of themselves they were willing to put on display.

From pop superstars to hip-hop legends, these decisions reveal a side of the Super Bowl rarely discussed: the performances that never happened, the negotiations behind closed doors and the moments when saying no mattered more than owning the stage.

Who turned down performing at the halftime show?

Adele

Long before she became one of the most acclaimed live performers of her generation, Adele candidly explained why she declined the Super Bowl halftime invitation: it wasn’t the spectacle she wanted her music to be reduced to.

She told fans that while she appreciated the offer, the format — built around choreography, production cues and television spectacle — didn’t align with her artistic identity as a singer-songwriter rooted in emotional performance.

“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no“, she said during a concert in August 2016.

She emphasized that her strength lay in connecting through pure music, not high-concept pageantry, and chose to preserve that integrity over the exposure a halftime set could bring.

Taylor Swift

Unlike some performers whose refusals have been explicitly public, Taylor Swift’s decision around the Super Bowl appears tied to timing and artistic priorities rather than outright rejection of the stage itself.

Reports from TMZ indicate she has passed on the halftime show multiple times in recent years, particularly as she’s focused on re-recording her catalogue and managing massive world tours, commitments that leave little room for a 15-minute show with its own intense preparation schedule.

Variety reported that she was offered a spot in the 2023 edition. After she declined, the opportunity went to Rihanna and the rest is history. The singer behind The Eras Tour was present in 2025, though she attended in support of her then-boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Pink

After delivering a powerful national anthem performance in 2018, Pink was reportedly offered the Super Bowl halftime slot the following year and chose to walk away.

In her own reflections, she highlighted the contradictions she saw between the league’s cultural tensions and how artists are treated: performers can be swiftly criticized or caricatured once they step onto that global stage.

Her refusal also came in the context of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and others who faced backlash for peaceful protest, underscoring her view that sometimes the politics surrounding the show outweigh the allure of its spotlight.

Jay-Z

For Jay-Z, the issue wasn’t disdain for the Super Bowl’s massive audience, but who got to shape the performance. When approached about headlining, he balked at conditions that would have required him to include other specific artists simply to secure the slot.

His objection, expressed in interviews, was rooted in artistic autonomy: he didn’t want to be told who to bring on stage or feel outsourced to a formula he didn’t believe in. The rapper and Roc Nation were the producers behind Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s halftime show in 2020, yet he was notably absent from the stage that year.

In an interview with The New York Times later that same year, he revealed that he had been offered the chance to perform — but only if he brought Rihanna and Kanye West with him to perform “Run This Town.”

“That is not how you go about it, telling someone that they’re going to do the halftime show contingent on who they bring. I said forget it. It was a principle thing“, he said in 2020.

Outkast

The story of Outkast’s missed Super Bowl moment is one of artistic principles colliding with broadcast constraints. Members Big Boi and André 3000 were reportedly invited to perform in the early 2000s, but André resisted the idea of shortening the group’s beloved songs to fit halftime’s strict time limits.

For a duo known for sprawling creativity and refusal to compromise their sound, slicing iconic tracks like “Hey Ya!” wasn’t an option; the decision wasn’t merely about a stage, but about preserving the integrity of their music as they envisioned it.

Cardi B

For Cardi B, turning down the Super Bowl was both a political statement and a personal calculation. In 2019, she publicly linked her refusal to support for Colin Kaepernick, the quarterback whose anthem protests sparked national controversy, saying she was willing to walk away from a typically lucrative payday to stand with someone who had been penalized by the NFL for his activism.

However, she did perform at events related to the Super Bowl. “I hear people saying like ‘Oh, y’all are saying all this stuff about the Super Bowl, but you’re doing all these parties. And it’s like, well, if the NFL could benefit off from us, then I’m going to benefit off y’all“, she said to the Associated Press, according to Business Insider.

Her stance highlighted how cultural movements can ripple into the entertainment business, transforming what might have been a career highlight for another artist into a moment of conscience.

Dolly Parton

When Dolly Parton looks back on Super Bowl offers, she doesn’t talk about protest or politics, she speaks frankly about fit and scale. In interviews, she has revealed that she’s been approached “many times” to perform, but has either been occupied with other commitments or felt that the massive production wasn’t the right vehicle for her brand of music.

“I couldn’t do it because of other things, or I just didn’t think I was big enough to do it — to do that big of a production. When you think about those shows, those are big, big productions. I’ve never done anything with that big of a production. I don’t know if I could have“, she said to The Hollywood Reporter in 2023.

Ever humble and self-aware, her reflection that the halftime show’s sensory spectacle might not match her own style underscores a rare honesty in an industry often driven by chasing the biggest stages.

Metallica

For heavy metal icons Metallica, the idea of a Super Bowl halftime show never really fit their playbook. James Hetfield told in past interviews that the band had opportunities over the years but chose to let them pass, in part because they saw the event as increasingly centered on spectacle and choreography rather than the raw musicianship they embody.

“I can’t dance, I can’t jump around, I’m not an acrobat, I’m not a variety show, you know? We are artists. We’re a band. We love playing songs. We’re not gonna fly through the air on a sparkly star with a unicorn“, he said in 2016.

Metallica’s ethos — grounded in extended riffs, visceral live energy and audiences who move to the music, not just watch it — was at odds with the tight, dance-inflected format the NFL expects.

“It’s become less about music unfortunately and more about just the spectacle. When we played for the fiftieth anniversary of the NFL… right here in our hometown and they didn’t have us do it… that would have been the time. Maybe that time has passed?“, James explained, according to Yahoo Entertainment.

Rihanna

Long before headlining one of the most celebrated halftime shows in recent memory, Rihanna had turned the gig down on principle. In a 2019 interview, she explained her refusal came from a place of deep discomfort with what the NFL represented at the time, especially around its treatment of Colin Kaepernick.

“I couldn’t dare do that. For what? Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn’t be a sellout. I couldn’t be an enabler. There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way“, she said, asserting that performing would have made her complicit in an organization she had serious disagreements with.

That decision, rooted in solidarity and personal conviction, would later be reframed by her eventual performance, which many saw as a historic and triumphant return to that stage.

There is no confirmation yet to show if Swift will attend the game or not. Given that the game is in Las Vergas, that could mean she is not attending. After all, Swift usually attends home games only.

Having said that, there is a motivating factor for her to go watch this game. This is potentially Travis Kelce’s last game in the NFL. Given that Kelce and Swift are engaged, one could wonder if the tight end fiancé will be there.

There haven’t been any signs of Swift’s presence at Allegiant Stadium though, leading many to assume she is not in attendance today. However, she’s kept a low profile when watching Kelce’s games this year, so there’s a chance that the cameras simply haven’t spotted her yet.

Kelce’s farewell won’t be as hoped

Arguably the greatest tight end to ever play the game of football, Travis Kelce could have a lackluster end to a Hall of Fame career. Used to be competing for Super Bowl titles, if this is in fact the final act of Kelce’s career, it will be on a meaningless Week 18 game. With the Chiefs eliminated from playoff contention and Patrick Mahomes injured, Kelce’s potential last game could be easily forgotten and that just seems unfair.

An 11-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro, Kelce is an undoutbed first ballot Hall of Famer. Kelce also helped the team to get three Super Bowl titles and, in his prime, was one of the most unguardable forces the NFL has ever seen.

Kelce and Swift’s engagement could be a potential reason for retirement

Just before the season started, Kelce proposed to Swift. On August 26, 2025, the couple announced its engagement. Then, the season started, so the wedding was placed on hold. The fact that they are finally getting married might also motivate Kelce to enter a new chapter on his life after the Raiders game.

Also, Kelce has been declining in production for the last three years and he is 36 years old. Kelce also has other projects outside of football. His podcast alongside brother Jason Kelce is one of the most-viewed sports podcasts in the world. He also has a famous porterhouse restaurant called 1587 Prime in collaboration with Patrick Mahomes. Kelce doesn’t need football, he just loves the game, but it might be time to call it a day.

Even though the Chiefs are no longer playing for postseason positioning, Swift has remained consistent in attending home games. She has previously said she prefers those games for security reasons and due to her personal schedule. At this point, however, her attendance has not been officially confirmed.

This is Travis Kelce’s final home game of the season, with the regular season ending next week. Swift will not have another opportunity this year to attend a Super Bowl to support her boyfriend alongside his family. It is also worth noting that this has not been a poor season for Kelce, as he has surpassed 800 receiving yards and has already exceeded last year’s touchdown total. Entering Week 17, he has five touchdowns.

When was the last time Taylor Swift was seen at Arrowhead Stadium

Prior to Week 17, Swift was last seen at the Chiefs’ home game against the Chargers. She attended that matchup as promised, watching from a suite alongside Kelce’s family. The Chiefs lost that game 16-13, and it became part of their current losing streak heading into the Broncos matchup.

It is also notable that Chris Oladokun will be the quarterback against Denver, meaning it will be another game in which Swift will not see passes from Patrick Mahomes to Kelce, something she has rarely experienced during her visits to Arrowhead Stadium.

Despite the Chiefs’ disappointing season, Swift has continued to support not only Kelce but the team as a whole. Kansas City has already been eliminated from the playoff race, yet much of the attention around the team remains centered on whether Swift will be spotted at another home game.
