Some players don't retire from the National Football League because they want to. Here, we discuss three WRs who could still be productive.
Not many players can brag about having long careers in the National Football League. Tom Brady is the exception to the rule in a league that’s physically and mentally challenging, not to mention quite ruthless.

You can be an offense’s focal point one day and be completely out of the league by next season. That’s just how fast things move in the NFL, and being a former All-Pro or perennial Pro-Bowler won’t grant you anything.

That’s why so many players remain unsigned, hanging onto the hope of getting another shot. Today, we’re going to talk about three of them, letting you know about three WRs who should get another shot.

NFL News: 3 Veteran Wideouts Who Could Get Another Shot

3. Will Fuller

    Will Fuller – Getty Images

Will Fuller has struggled to stay healthy throughout his career, and it’s been a while since he was impactful. However, he’s just 28 years old and was one of the fastest players in the league just a couple of years ago.

Fuller should get another shot on a team that’s lacking a deep-play specialist or a big-play threat. He’d be a nice pickup at a reasonable price, and he could still have a couple of solid years left in the tank.

2. TY Hilton

    TY Hilton – Getty Images

The Indianapolis Colts recently honored TY Hilton at Lucas Oil Stadium, so that might as well be the end of the line for him there. But he hasn’t formally announced his retirement, so who’s to say he can’t come back?

For years, Hilton was one of the most underrated and versatile wideouts in the league. He could line up in the slot or out wide and was a solid route-runner. He just needs to prove that he’s healthy enough to be back on the field.

1. DeSean Jackson

    DeSean Jackson – Getty Images

DeSean Jackson claimed to be satisfied with his career if he never played againand stated that he’d only play for an elite quarterback. Aaron Rodgers happens to need a deep-ball threat, so there’s that.

Jackson never missed a step. He’s the ultimate boom-or-bust receiverand a guy who can pile up yardage at an absurd rate. That’s the kind of skill set that could come in handy for multiple contenders.

The New York Jets have been linked with two interesting wide receivers for the upcoming NFL free agency.
The New York Jets made a very interesting move when they signed Robert Saleh from the San Francisco 49ers a couple of weeks ago. Now the team is ready to put the right pieces for the head coach and their quarterback, Sam Darnold.

That’s why they’re holding onto the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft and will try to bolster their ranks in free agency. This team has plenty of things to figure out before the start of the next season and their plans look very ambitious.

Recent reports have suggested they are trying to add two good wide receivers to join Sam Darnold on the O-Line, demonstrating they’re ready to finally compete and take that next step in the AFC.

New York Jets linked with JuJu Smith Schuster and Will Fuller

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Jets have placed their attention on two big players, JuJu Smith Schuster and Will Fuller. The former has been the primary WR on the Pittsburgh Steelers while Fuller saw his role increased this season after the Houston Texans sent a lot of players away before the start of the season.

Fowler said the pair are “at the top” of the team’s wishlist this offseason. Both Smith Schuster and Fuller are expected to test the waters of free agency and the New Yorkers will be ready to land two electrifying wideouts.

If they pull off any of these moves and land another offensive player in the draft, the Jets could be up to something next campaign.

The Green Bay Packers failed to trade for soon-to-be free agent Will Fuller as they refused to meet the Houston Rockets' asking price for him.
It’s been said over and over that the Green Bay Packers desperately need to improve their receiving corps, as other than Davante Adams, they don’t have a true reliable weapon at Aaron Rodger’s disposal.

That’s why they were linked with a move for Houston Texans’ wideout Will Fuller, one of the biggest deep threats in the NFL and one of the most likely candidates to be traded after his team plummeted to a 1-6 record.

However, it seems like people from within the Packers organization were reluctant to meet the Texans’ asking price for the wide receiver, thus staying put at the trade deadline and failing to make a move at him.

Green Bay Packers Couldn’t Agree On Terms With Houston Texans For Will Fuller

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Will Fuller was set to end the season as a member of the Houston Texans as the Green Bay Packers failed to meet their terms and there weren’t any other takers.

That’s kind of impressive considering he’s already piled up 490 receiving yards on 31 receptions and became the team’s clear lead target with DeAndre Hopkins‘ departure to the Arizona Cardinals.

Will Fuller Reacts To The Trade Rumors

A couple of hours before the deadline, Fuller took to Twitter to react to the countless rumors of his move to Lambeau Field, hinting at a desire to leave and finish the season strong with a contender.

While not an elite receiver, Fuller’s speed and explosiveness are bound to get him a lot of money in the offseason, and he could have been exactly what the Packers needed opposite Adams to finally get over the hump and win another Super Bowl. Now, it seems like they’re going to have to wait until next season to get Rodgers some help.
