Orlando City SC and Inter Miami CF will have plenty of things in common when they face off for the MLS is Back tournament. Neither of them enters the stage as betting favorites to go the distance, so they'll have plenty of extra motivation to prove their doubters wrong.

They will have the spotlight on July 8, 2020 when they take the pitch at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Walt Disney World Resort, Florida to pull the curtains on this one-of-a-kind World Cup-style tournament on quite a tight matchup for Group A of the Eastern Conference:

3. New York City FC
4. Philadelphia Union
5. Chicago Fire FC
6. Nashville SC

Match Preview

The home team is coming off a disappointing campaign in 2019. They just won 9 out of their 34 matches, drawing 10 and losing 15. Also, they scored 44 goals to 52 to finish with a -8 goal difference and just 37 points, the third-worst record in Major League Soccer that season.

Even so, Portuguese superstar Nani managed to have an outstanding performance throughout the whole season, piling up 12 goals to go along with 10 assists over 33 caps for Orlando City SC.

Inter Miami CF, on the other hand, lacks the experience of their counterparts but put together quite a competitive squad in the offseason with the acquisitions of Rodolfo Pizarro, Víctor Ulloa, and Matías Pellegrini.

Diego Alonso's team wants to make a good first impression in America's top-flight league and become a contending team right away, so we can expect them to play with a chip on their shoulder right out of the gate.
