Los Angeles FC will try to build on their great campaign from last season. According to the odds, they're the biggest favorite to win the tournament. This time, however, they'll want to finish the job by winning the MLS is Back tournament and clinch a berth for the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League.

The Black and Gold will face a tough task as a part of Group F of the Western Conference, as they'll have to face off vs. their city rivals Los Angeles Galaxy, as well as Houston Dynamo and Portland Timbers to advance to the tournament's knockout stage.

Group F (Western Conference)
1. LAFC
2. LA Galaxy
3. Houston Dynamo
4. Portland Timbers

Bob Bradley's boys will kick off their season on July 13 vs. Houston Dynamo at 5:00 PM (PT). Later on, they'll have to face their toughest rival of the group stage, Los Angeles Galaxy; on July 18 at 7:30 PM (PT). Notably, things won't get much easier for their final match vs. Portland Timbers on July 23 at 7:30 PM (PT). Luckily for them, they'll have their supporters rooting for them at home watching every second of game action.

Carlos Vela opts out

Los Angeles FC will have to make plenty of adjustments as Mexican superstar Carlos Vela recently announced that he'll opt out of the tournament to preserve his health and take care of his pregnant wife.

"It is in the best interest of the health of my family to stay home and be with my wife during what is a risky pregnancy. I will miss being with my teammates and coaches, but I will be cheering and supporting LAFC from a distance. I can't wait to be back on the field, playing for all of you and accomplishing great things with our club. Vamos LAFC!" Vela claimed.
