Brazil and Peru will face off today at Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro to try to win a spot in the final of the Copa America 2021. Brazil might be the favorite but Peru has gone from less to more in the tournament.

Peru beat Paraguay on penalties in the quarter-finals after a dramatic match, while La Canarinha won 1-0 over Chile in a tough game. These two teams have already faced each other in this tournament, with Brazil winning 4-0. And they also met in the 2019 final, when Brazil won 3-1.

However, after that game, Peru went and beat Colombia and Venezuela in the group stage and managed to surpass Paraguay, who didn’t give anything to their rivals. Also, besides being finalists of the 2019 edition, Peru finished third in 2011 and 2015.

Brazil’s confirmed starting XI

For this game, Tite won’t be able to call Gabriel Jesus, as the Manchester City forward was expelled after receiving a red card in the match against Chile last time out. Lucas Paquetá will start after scoring the winner against La Roja.

That way, this will be Brazil's lineup: Ederson Moraes; Danilo Da Silva, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Renan Lodi; Casemiro, Fred, Lucas Paquetá; Everton, Neymar, Richarlison.

Peru’s confirmed lineup

On the other hand, André Carrillo won't be an option for Ricardo Gareca this Monday because he is suspended after receiving a red card against Paraguay. For this match, Ricardo Gareca will start five at the back.

So, Peru’s lineup for this match will be: Pedro Gallese; Aldo Corzo, Alexander Callens, Christian Ramos, Anderson Santamaria, Miguel Trauco; Sergio Peña, Renato Tapia, Yoshimar Yotun; Christian Cueva, Gianluca Lapadula.
