Manny Pacquiao and Yordenis Ugas will fight for the WBA welterweight world title on Saturday, August 21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. While Pacquiao will want to improve his record as the oldest welterweight champion at 42, Ugas will be up to the biggest challenge of his career so far.

‘Pac-man’, eight-time division champion, was ready to fight Errol Spence Jr., but his opponent withdrew from the event due to a torn retina in his left eye. On the other side, Ugas was also preparing to fight Fabian Madiana but, as Pacquiao, his rival had to retire.

Now, the Cuban will try to upset Pacquiao, who hasn’t fought for two years. Many fans are speculating that this could be the Filipino last fight as he is serving as a senator for his country. Either way, he will go home with a good sum of money for this fight.

How much will Manny Pacquiao earn for his fight against Ugas?

According to AS, the 42-year-old has a guaranteed prize of $5 million, while his total earnings will depend on PPV sales. It’s estimated that he could take home around $25 million. It’s half of what Pacquiao earned in 2019 when he fought against Keith Thurman.

While the sum is lower than what he used to earn during his prime years, he is still one of the most popular boxers. On the other hand, what Yordenis Ugas will receive for this fight hasn’t been revealed yet.

However, it’s expected to be a good sum, too. But for what Ugas himself has said, his prize is the fight itself. "Facing Pacquiao means a lot for my legacy," said Ugas in a press conference. "I am not taking this fight for money, I am doing it for my legacy. Many people would love to have this chance, and I have it. It is the biggest opportunity of my life."
