Yankees manager Aaron Boone alluded to a potential Hall of Famer as a key player in their quest for success.

Contrary to expectations, Boone did not focus on Judge’s recent performances, where he managed only one hit and one walk. Instead, he highlighted a teammate who has been playing exceptionally well and possesses the talent to become one of baseball’s greats.

In his remarks, Boone confidently identified Paul Goldschmidt as a potential future Hall of Famer. He praised Goldschmidt’s contributions and explained why he sees the first baseman as worthy of this prestigious honor.

“That’s a guy in his late 30s who is probably headed to the Hall of Fame and likely an All-Star again this year,” Boone said, following the Yankees‘ 4-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. “He’s not playing a second day in a row, but he’s ready to pinch-run when called upon.”

“His growth has been fantastic to witness. We were obviously very optimistic about him last year. He faced some challenges both in Triple-A and at the big league level, but he also showed flashes of brilliance. The positive aspect is that I think he’s continued to develop from there. He came back this summer in a better pitching position and has learned a lot from his previous mistakes and setbacks,“ Boone remarked to reporters.
