After an underwhelming stint with the Miami Heat, Kevin Love found himself traded to the Utah Jazz. Despite his recent arrival, rumors of a potential buyout have started swirling, leaving his future in the league uncertain. Amid all the speculation, the 36-year-old veteran addressed the retirement rumors directly, clarifying his stance on ending his NBA career.

ā€œI think you start preparing for ā€˜Plan B,'(post-retirement plans) I mean, if you’re smart and if you have the presence of mind to do it early in your career… I mean that idea of athletic mortality at this stage of my career, where I’m certainly over the hill and looking at the twilight. There’s things that I’m having to consider,ā€ Kevin Love said, via Hoda Kotb.

While Kevin did not specify a date for his professional retirement, he has clearly signaled that his career in the league is nearing its end. Not only is his age a factor but also his on-court performance also reflects this reality. Over the past three years, he has played in just 99 games and has steadily shifted into a more secondary role.

Remarkably, Love has gone five consecutive seasons without reaching double-digit scoring averages, underscoring the twilight of his illustrious tenure. Despite his veteran status and physical challenges placing him in a secondary role, Kevin has made a significant impact in the NBA. During his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he was part of the ā€˜Big 3’ with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, contributing to their 2016 championship victory.
