<p>Considering his stats and his career, you’d think that Yankees manager<strong> Aaron Boone</strong> should and would easily lean towards adding <strong>Domingo German</strong> to the team’s roster. Then again, the manager is still undecided about that final roster spot.</p>
<p>Boone has repeatedly stated that he sees both German and standout prospect <strong>Deivi Garcia</strong> as starting pitchers. That’s why, come April 1 and Opening Day, he’s going to have to choose between one or the other.</p>

<p><em>“Aaron Boone says that he sees both Dominican pitchers –<strong> Deivi Garcia and Domingo German</strong> – as starters, which probably means that just one of them will be on the roster come Opening Day #Yankees,”</em> <strong>ESPN’s Marly Rivera</strong> reported.</p>

<p>Thus far, Garcia’s numbers during Spring Training have been pretty decent. He’s logged <strong>a 3.86 ERA over five starts and 14.0 IP</strong> while striking out 14 hitters, and there’s clearly a lot of upside with him.</p>
<p>German, on the other hand, continues to be flawless since serving his year-long suspension for domestic violence. He’s tossed <strong>9 scoreless innings</strong> over three starts, striking out 13 out of the 31 hitters he’s faced.</p>

<p>Even though what took him to the Yankees was his fastball, Deivi García has recently made a name for himself for his <strong>beautiful slider</strong>. He’s often in control and batters tend to struggle with high spin and breaking balls.</p>
<p><strong>His fastball was clocked at 97 mph last year </strong>and his mean curve has been turning heads since he was a teenager. Moreover, his strikeout-to-walk ratio continues to improve on a yearly basis.</p>
