NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski is retiring from the media industry and the news prompted a recurring question from the audience who wanted to know how much the journalist earned in his work for ESPN.
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Woj signed a five-year contract worth $35 million in 2022. The deal represented an income of $7 million per year.
ESPN’s investment in 2022 was aimed at securing Wojnarowski’s tenure alongside Adam Schefter, composing the mythical NBA insiders duo. The difference was that Schefter earned around $9 million a year, a higher amount due to his longer seniority.
Wojnarowski is leaving ESPN after seven years at the network at the age of 55, after becoming one of the NBA’s most prestigious insiders. The legendary journalist had previously worked for Yahoo Sports and The Record of Bergen County. He has accepted a new position as General Manager of the men’s program at St. Bonaventure University.
Wojnarowski is a distinguished alumnus of St. Bonaventure and has a strong relationship with the program. He is a 1991 graduate of the Western New York school and a prestigious Jandoli School of Communication grad.
Adrian Wojnarowski’s farewell remarks from journalism
Wojnarowski published a farewell letter in which he explained the reasons for his resignation from ESPN and what his new adventure will be. “Journalism has transformed my life, but it is an investment I am no longer willing to make,” Woj said. “The last seven years at ESPN have been a special privilege, and I leave with overwhelming gratitude for my countless mentors and colleagues,” concluded the former NBA insider.
What is the new role of Adrian Wojnarowski in the St. Bonaventure University?

Managing the transfer portal is a beta in addition to other essential duties such as naming, image and likeness, recruiting and supporting Mark Schmidt, the team’s successful head coach.
