Just three years after being the 4th overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, former LSU standout Leonard Fournette is looking for a new team, as the Jacksonville Jaguars shockingly cut him yesterday morning.

Fournette had an outstanding rookie campaign but struggled to build from it as the Jaguars had a lot of issues on every aspect of the game. However, his 4 yards per carry, youth, and skills may be more than enough for an NFL team to take a flier on him.

The Jaguars were reportedly shopping him for the past several months but couldn’t get nothing in return, most likely because other teams don’t like to overpay for running backs in a pass-oriented league.

Now, knowing that he may sign at a discount, there are a couple of teams that could be interested in Fournette, with the New England Patriots and Washington Football Team reportedly headlining that list. However, he would rather join a former teammate elsewhere.

Leonard Fournette Interested In Signing With The Los Angeles Rams

According to Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano, the LSU product is pretty close to former Jaguar Jalen Ramsey and is reportedly interested in replacing Todd Gurley by joining the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams also cut Gurley following his recent struggles with injuries so they could definitely use another tackle-breaking threat out of the backcourt, as they’re currently focusing ona committee ofMalcolm Brown, Darrell Henderson Jr, and rookie Cam Akers, with none of them having a clear edge over the other.

Whether the Rams will be interested in Fournette is yet to be seen but he’d definitely be a low-risk/high-reward kind of pickup for them.At the end of the day, itwouldn’t be the first time the Jaguars regret letting go of a player after seeing him flourish elsewhere.
