Aaron Boone sends clear message on Cody Bellinger and Giancarlo Stanton

With the Yankees improving lately, some players are physically exhausted. Aaron Boone had to address the situation and clarify things regarding Cody Bellinger and Giancarlo Stanton, who haven’t been feeling well recently.

Aaron Boone couldn’t stay silent when he knew some Yankees players were going through a rough patch. He had to clarify things after reports surfaced that Cody Bellinger was feeling a bit sick and that Giancarlo Stanton was having trouble recovering from his recent time in the outfield.

Before the second game against the Cardinals, Boone clarified that Bellinger was already feeling better—a crucial update for the Yankees’ offense, which needs all its players. Stanton was also available off the bench, despite the difficulty he had recovering from his lower-body soreness.

According to a report from Greg Joyce, the Yankees are being very careful with Stanton’s recovery since he played three straight days in right field, a role he took on while Aaron Judge was unavailable.

The Status of Bellinger and Stanton

While it’s good news that Cody Bellinger is recovering from his illness—the specifics of which were not disclosed—it’s important to remember that he has been hitting just a .140 average in August and contributed nothing in his most recent MLB game, going hitless in five at-bats.

Giancarlo Stanton, on the other hand, has had a very productive month with a .394 average. However, the decision to have him play in the outfield for three consecutive days was likely not the best one, given that he hadn’t played that position since 2023 and has been the Yankees’ designated hitter ever since.

Despite problems at multiple positions on the field, the Yankees continue to push forward. Another player who appears to be regaining his form is Jazz Chisholm Jr., who recently said the team is ready to keep going and improve.
