Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich will face off for the UEFA Champions League final on Sunday 23 on what may be the most important game in half of the players’ careers, especially from the French side.
PSG orchestrated a last-minute comeback vs Atlanta and then got easily past RB Leipzig to make it to the ultimate stage to try and win their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy after years of struggles.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, thrashed FC Barcelona 8-2 and then beat Lyon 3-0 to reaffirm his status as one of the toughest teams in the world. However, former team legend Franz Beckenbauer is wary about PSG and its flawless game:
“I’ve watched PSG’s games, they’re one heck of a team. I can’t find any weak points in the team and I expect them to vary their playing style,” the legendary defender said ahead of this exciting matchup.
PSG vs Bayern Munich: Two Teams Used To Dominating
PSG and Bayern Munich have completely owned their domestic tournaments. The German side recently clinched their record 8th consecutive Bundesliga title, while Paris Saint-Germain won their 3rd straight and 7th over the past 8 seasons.
Then again, Beckenbauer doesn’t see his side having a clear edge over the French champions this time, and went as far as to claim that they’ll need to have luck by their side if they want to win:
“It’ll be the most difficult game of this Champions League season. I hope that both teams don’t hold back too much, don’t show each other too much respect and play just as refreshingly and with a joie de vivre like they have done up to now. Then we can expect a wonderful final. It’ll be a match played on equal terms. I’d say it’s 50-50. Sometimes you need a bit of luck. If Bayern get that, they’ll win the game,” he concluded.
UEFA Champions League Final: Who Will Prevail?
Both PSG and Bayern Munich are stacked in every position, especially the attacking front. This will be a high-octane game with two of the most electrifying offenses in the history of theUEFA Champions League.
Both teams are used to dictating the pace of the game and being in control of the situation. There’s no clear edge between these teams, other than Bayern Munich’s experience in this kind of stage.
