The Houston Cougars are walking on clouds right now. They’re just one win away from being the kings of college basketball and cap off this strong year with a national championship.

Unfortunately, their biggest win of the campaign was stained by an incident. Just after beating Cooper Flagg and Duke in the Final Four, their joy was rather short-lived.

As reported by Chancellor Johnson, security didn’t allow Houston Rockets legendary big man Hakeem Olajuwon to join the players of his former alma mater to celebrate.

Security doesn’t allow Hakeem Olajuwon to celebrate with Houston

“In Houston’s win over Duke, program legend Hakeem Olajuwon was hoping to join the team on the court in celebration, but security wasn’t having it,” wrote Johnson. “One man even tried to vouch for him, but no luck.”

The video shows the legendary big man in complete disbelief. He’s the greatest player in program history, and this disrespectful incident was unacceptable, to say the least.

The Cougars retired Olajuwon’s No. 34 jersey after two trips to the championship game. Hopefully, if they do win the title this season, they will right this wrong with him.
