CeeDee Lamb has been Dak Prescott’s best friend since his arrival in 2020. Despite being an elite wide receiver, the Dallas Cowboys have refused to give him a juicy contract extension ahead of the 2023 NFL campaign.

In 2022, CeeDee Lamb proved everybody his value. The wide receiver had 1,359 yards in 107 receptions with nine touchdowns. It has been his best season so far, but it seems like the Cowboys still have some doubts with him.

Lamb entered the NFL in 2020 as the 17th-overall pick. He’s entering his fourth year of contract, but now the Cowboys are making some moves regarding his situation, avoiding to give him a long-term deal this 2023.

Cowboys exercise CeeDee Lamb’s 5th-year option: What does this mean for the WR?

Back in 2020, Dak Prescott asked the Cowboys to draft a wide receiver. The team’s front office responded and picked CeeDee Lamb with the 17th-overall selection.

Since then, Lamb has been the best wide receiver in the roster. Dak Prescott has surrendered multiple times to his talent, but it seems like the team still needs to see more from him.

Lamb’s rookie contract runs until the end of the 2023 campaign. However, he has a fifth-year option on it, and according tothe Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys will exercise it.

This means that Lamb will make a fully-guaranteed $17.9 million in 2024. However, rumors say that once the 2023 season ends, the Cowboys will see how to offer him a long-term deal.
