Reaching the Eastern Conference Finals wasnāt enough for the New York Knicks. Following another elimination by the Indiana Pacers, they chose to part ways with Tom Thibodeau.
It was a somewhat surprising decision, and there will be no shortage of candidates looking to jump on board and bring back hope to Madison Square Garden.
With that in mind, Tom Haberstroh of Yahoo Sports pointed to John Calipari as a potential candidate, as heās already coached in the NBA and in the same area, and he has a close relationship with fellow former Wildcat Karl-Anthony Towns.
The Knicks could make a run at John Calipari
āThereās a man who knows how to win with Karl-Anthony Towns. This man also won an NBA Coach of the Year award and also happens to know what itās like to hold an NBA coaching job in the Tri-State area. Step right up, John Calipari!āwrote Haberstroh.

John Calipari
He might be talking about the NABC Coach of the Year award, which heās won three times and as recently as in 2015. Whatever the case, heās certainly an intriguing coach.
Then again, given how things ended for the Knicks this season, they might not be interested in hiring anybody from the college basketball scene, not even a legend like Calipari.
