Paris Saint-Germain got off to a dominant start in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final. They outplayed Inter Milan in all areas of the game and quickly took the lead. Achraf Hakimi and Desire Doue scored the goals for the French side in the opening minutes of the match. Doue then added a third in the second half, followed by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Doue made it 2–0 in the 20th minute of the first half and became the third-youngest player to score in a Champions League final, at 19 years and 362 days old. Ahead of him are Patrick Kluivert (18 years and 327 days) and Carlos Alberto (19 years and 167 days).

Kluivert was the hero for Ajax in the 1994–95 final, scoring the only goal in a 1–0 win over AC Milan that gave the Dutch giants their first title in 22 years. Performances like that helped him become one of the biggest stars in world soccer, eventually going on to play for the Italian side and later Barcelona.

Carlos Alberto Gomes de Jesus had a very different path. His goal in the 2003–04 Champions League final helped Porto defeat AS Monaco 3–0 and claim the title. That would become the high point of his professional career. He had joined Porto that season from Fluminense, and that goal was one of just two he scored in European soccer. He soon returned to Brazil, where he spent nearly his entire career.

Who are the other young scorers in UCL finals?

Patrick Kluivert and Carlos Alberto maintain their top spots in the list of the youngest scorers in UEFA Champions League final history. Now, that podium is completed by Desire Doue, following the goals he scored this Saturday for PSG against Inter Milan.

Others on that list include Lars Ricken, who scored for Borussia Dortmund in the 1997 final against Juventus at 20 years and 322 days; Marco Asensio, with Real Madrid against Juventus in 2017 at 21 years and 133 days; and Vinicius Junior, also with Real Madrid, who scored in the 2022 final against Liverpool at 21 years and 320 days.

The records Doue did break

In addition to climbing to third place on that distinguished list, Desire Doue set two more remarkable records with his performance against Inter Milan this Saturday at Allianz Arena in Munich. He became the youngest player in history to score a brace in a Champions League final.

And that’s not all. The PSG forward also assisted Achraf Hakimi on the opener, which made him the youngest player ever to score and register an assist in a Champions League final—and the first to do so in the last 11 years. The last player to reach those kinds of stats in the tournament’s decisive match was Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid against Atletico Madrid in 2014.
