For Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka it has been a frustrating long hot summer. Goretzka’s camp has grown “irritated” with the lack of progress on the 26-year-olds contract situation at the German giants. Rumors have started that Bayern may let the contract run out in order to get Goretzka’s wages off their books.
According to Bild, the German midfielder wants to wrap up his contract situation and resign with Bayern, but the German club is reportedly looking to lighten their books and are willing to lose Goretzka on a free transfer.
The reasoning behind that move from Bayern Munich is that they want to keep spending down at the club so to keep Bayern “financially stable for the long term”. Now reports indicate that two big European clubs are inquiring over the services of Leon Goretzka.

Manchester United is said to be looking for a replacement for Paul Pogba and that Leon Goretzka may be their man. It has been reported that Manchester United has already sent an offer to Leon Goretzka to join United once his contract at Bayern expires as well as Pogba’s at Manchester United.

The Spanish giants are also keen on signing the German international, Real Madrid has a stacked midfield and are also in financial trouble but would be willing to adjust their books to make way for Leon Goretzka. Again, it would be after his current deal expires next June.
Last season Leon Goretzka played 25 games and scored 5 goals in Bundesliga play, and has been at Bayern for three seasons and has won ten championships with the club.
