Bayern Munich are undoubtedly one of the biggest and most powerful teams in the world. The defending UEFA Champions League winners are looking for a new trophy on February 11th, 2021, when they face Tigres UANL in the FIFA Club World Cup Final, and that's why we decided to bring back the memory of that game between the MLS All-Stars vs. the German giants. Do you remember it? Here we will show you the highlights and goals of that exciting match.

In August, 2014, the best players of the Major League Soccer teamed up to face a Bayern's side coached by Pep Guardiola at Providence Park, home of the Portland Timbers. Among those soccer stars were Thierry Henry, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey and Bradley Wright-Phillips.

Caleb Porter, whose Columbus Crew's manager today and winner of the MLS Cup 2020, was the MLS All-Stars team head coach at the time. His side started the game with a 4-2-3-1 formation: Rimando; Yedlin, Collin, Besler, Parkhurst; Bradley, Cahill; Zusi, Dempsey, Henry; Martins.

MLS All-Stars beat Bayern Munich

Although it was just a friendly game, fans were excited at Providence Park. It was the first match between the MLS All-Stars against a Bundesliga side. Striker Robert Lewandowski showed why he was (and still is) considered one of the best strikers in the world after scoring a sensational strike from the edge of the box to put Bayern ahead in the first half.

However, the home team reacted and turned around the result thanks to goals from two players who came in from the bench. Wright-Phillips equalized the match with a wonderful left-foot shot and Donovan gave the victory for Porter's side after an outstanding assist from Diego Valeri. The final result? A 2-1 victory for the MLS All-Stars.
