Well, those who were still hoping for this to be a nightmare can just let it go now. Lionel Messi won’t play for Barcelona anymore and he was officially presented as Paris Saint-Germain’s latest reinforcement.

One of the greatest athletes in the history of sports is ready to take a step forward and write a new chapter in his incredible career, even though the circumstances of his departure were far from ideal.

Now, the Argentina international will take his talents to Parc des Princes to try and lead PSG to the UEFA Champions League trophy they’ve been craving for so long. If anyone can take them over the top, that’s definitely Messi, who was pretty excited when addressing the media.

“It’s really crazy and I’m very happy sharing with them [Neymar and Mbappe],” Messi started.
“There have been some amazing transfers, the team is incredible. I just want to train, I’m playing with some of the best players in the world.”

“Of course I’ve got some friends here. When you see the squad you really want to play with them as there are so many possibilities to get what you want. We’ve got the same goals, now we’re together with Neymar and the rest of the team I hope we can make it. I know Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes but Neymar was of course important in me signing,” he added.

“Barcelona is my home, I have been there since I was a kid and I’ve lived so many things there I don’t know if we are going to face each other – it would be very nice to go back to Barcelona. It will be very strange to play at home there in Barcelona with another shirt but it can happen and we will see,” he concluded.
