PSG will return to French league action this weekend aiming to grab their ninth win in a row and continue paving the way towards the domestic title. On Sunday, they'll take on Rennes on Matchday 9 of the 2021-22 Ligue 1.

The hosts have struggled at the beginning of the tournament but they bounced back well from three straight defeats and went unbeaten in their last two matches (W1 D1). Additionally, Bruno Genesio's men emerged victorious over Vitesse in the Conference League.

Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, have been flying in the Ligue 1 as they haven't dropped any points so far. Mauricio Pochettino's side arrives at this clash following a huge win over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

Rennes possible lineup

Rennes would look practically unchanged compared to their last few games as they don't have any injury reports nor suspensions. On Thursday's European clash, Loic Bade saw the red card but thay won't ban him from this game.

Bruno Genesio, however, could make a change or two for Sunday. Kamaldeen Sulemana might replace 18-year-old Loum Tchaouna and Birger Meling could be back into the lineup after 19-year-old Adrien Truffert played in the Conference League. Rennes probable starting XI: Gomis; Traore, Bade, Aguerd, Meling; Bourigeaud, Santamaria, Tait, Sulemana; Laborde, Guirassy.

PSG possible starting XI

Mauricio Pochettino may use this game to make a few modifications and give more minutes to those who haven't seen much of first-team action lately. The front three of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar would remain untouched, but Ander Herrera could be given some rest.

If the Spanish midfielder leaves the lineup, Leandro Paredes could step in. Also, Georginio Wijnaldum could start instead of Idrissa Gueye, and Gianluigi Donnarumma could leave his place to Keylor Navas. PSG probable lineup: Navas; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes; Verratti, Paredes, Wijnaldum; Messi, Mbappe, Neymar.
