With the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup on the horizon, teams worldwide ramp up efforts to clinch the prestigious title. Real Madrid, FC Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester City dominate the conversation as fan favorites due to their rich history and immense talent. Yet, a supercomputer adds an intriguing twist by predicting the top two contenders for victory.
Opta Analyst simulated Club World Cup 10,000 times. Based on these simulations, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City emerged as top contenders. PSG lead with an 18.5% chance of winning the trophy, while City follow closely with 17.8%.
Paris Saint-Germain, current UEFA Champions League champions, stand out as the tournament’s top favourites. The French side has built a solid, well-balanced team. Vitinha, Ousmane Dembele, and Desire Doue have become key pillars of the project. They provide both creativity and discipline, which strengthen their chances. Moreover, their momentum makes them one of the most dangerous teams in the field.
Meanwhile, Manchester City’s presence among the favourites comes as a surprise. They had an inconsistent season and finished third in the Premier League. Liverpool and Arsenal finished ahead of them. However, City have regained form in recent weeks, as Nicolas Gonzalez has broken into the rotation and added much-needed solidity to the team. Meanwhile, Erling Haaland has found his scoring touch again boosting their chances ahead.

Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain celebrates after Desire Doue of Paris Saint-Germain scores his team’s third goal during the UEFA Champions League Final 2025.
How strong are Inter Miami’s chances in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?
Inter Miami do not enter the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup as a top contender, having only a 0.2% chance of lifting the title. However, they still have a 12.9% chance of reaching the quarterfinals, according to Opta Analyst. That percentage puts them ahead of big-name teams like Boca Juniors, who hold just 7%, Fluminense with 9.7%, and Red Bull Salzburg at 7.1%. If Inter Miami reach that stage, they would exceed Sergio Busquets’ expectations for the tournament.
