Aaron Rodgers is the man chosen by Mike Tomlin to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a report by Peter Schrager. This was exemplified in the first round of the 2025 Draft by not selecting Shedeur Sanders.
“Truth of the matter is if you’re on the Aaron Rodgers game, and you’re trying to convince Aaron to come, and you’re even trying to still be in the Aaron Rodgers game, the last thing you would do is draft a quarterback tonight. This tells me that you’re all in on Rodgers and you’re going to get help to Rodgers, so that he can field the best team possible. Shedeur to me made sense at 21, but this just tells me even more so that this is Rodgers and the Steelers and that’s the future.”
It’s important to remember that at the 21st spot, not only was Sanders available, but they could have also chosen Jaxson Dart. However, considering that the former Super Bowl champion with the Packers was signing with Pittsburgh, Omar Khan went with Derrick Harmon.
What is Aaron Rodgers future?
Aaron Rodgers’ future is in Pittsburgh, according to what was mentioned by Schrager. This strengthens other reports that had already indicated the veteran wouldn’t feel comfortable with a star rookie on the bench waiting for an opportunity.
Now, the big question is who will be the fourth quarterback that Khan promised. The roster already includes Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson, Rodgers would be the third, and perhaps in the later rounds of the draft, they will select the final one.
